Great place for the price. I could walk out of the back door and be right on the river walk with plenty of shops and dinning within walking distance. You could tell the hotel staff receives excellent customer service training.
The room was nice and the ambiance was awesome. There was a water in room but it was $4.00 if you decided to drink it. That and the fact there was no mini fridge in the room we're the only bad things. Everything else was great.
This hotel is a joke. Have a reservation for Riverwalk? No matter. You'll readily be bumped over here. "At least they're giving me some points for a miserable experience," you think to yourself. Psych! It's been over a month and I have yet to get the points promised added to my account. Not only that but I need the invoice before I can get my card paid. I've called no less than 5 times and have yet to get my bill. Avoid this place like the plague.
Comfortable, clean and great staff. It is always a pleasure staying at a property that is full of smiling faces that greet you from day to day. Faces that not only care about you as a guest but as a person.
In addition to the people, the facility is well cared for from top to bottom: guest rooms, concierge lounge, and the lobby. There is pride here and it is appreciated.
Props to all the ladies at the lobby Starbucks, Miss Wanda with conventions and I don't know his name but, the man that cleans the elevator railing everyday with a smile on his face. Thank you all for a great stay.
Staff is wonderful. Very hospitable and accommodating. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Did not visit hotel restaurants or bars.
My main reason for writing this review and not giving it a 4 or 5 was the overwhelming "air freshener" smell in the lobby. It was so overpowering when I walked through the doors it deterred me from going to the bar/restaurant in the lobby. We decided to try something outside the property instead. I get the need for a "fresh scent" when entering, but this was almost volatile. It made me want to choke and cover my nose. I travel for work and stay in various hotels and chains on a weekly basis I see no reason for the excessive use of these perfumes that can be noxious to people with a wide variety of health concerns. Not to mention the interference with the pleasure of enjoying a nice glass of wine with food. Please tone down the fragrance and I'd be happy to give you a much better rating on my next visit.
Hotel is a 3 minute walk to the Riverwalk and attached to a great shopping center. Very nice to look at, I especially liked the open concept of the first 3 floors. I was here for business, the conference rooms were well lit but very cold. Hotel food not bad but nothing special. Every hotel employee I had contact with was very polite and friendly. Room was clean, but basic. No mini fridge. Water in shower gets nice and hot. Would stay again/recommend
The staff was very friendly and the room was nice yet small. The price seemed high for such a small room with limited amenities. We were willing to pay their price due to the proximity to our conference. What really shocked me was the $40.00 per night charge for parking and the charge for wifi if you were not a rewards member.
We have been coming to this hotel for over 20 years for the same conference- same time of year. I have watched this hotel slowly degrade. The staff everyone is very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. Five stars for staff. Sadly, this hotel is in desperate need of a remodel. Old carpet, worn out mattresses, peeling wallpaper - very sad to see a once five star hotel allowed to fall to this level. The restaurant is still wonderful with great food and awesome service. San Antoine needs to refocus on their Rivercenter area.
This was going to be a 3 star review but I have been locked out of my room all day (from noon to 6pm). The staff was made aware of the situation, a dead battery in the door lock, when I had a break at lunch (which was when I discovered the situation) but didn't seem concerned and even joked about the situation. I didn't have time to partake in those festivities but hoped they would get it taken care of. I returned again 2 hours later and the situation remained but I had no time to report it again. Finally I returned for the evening hoping to drop off my gear and get some dinner only to find out that they still hadn't found the time to fix the issue. Finally after talking to the front staff again and expressing the urgency of the issue they sent someone up to look into the situation. 15 minutes later I was comfortably in my room. Of course I'd put off the cleaning and refreshing crew all week and kind of needed it today but they couldn't get in either. I'll be laughing with you, the reader, tomorrow I'm sure but wow. I'm a platinum member too so I imagine it might be in the realm of possibility that we're I not, I might have been sleeping in the lobby tonight!
Additionally, the bed was somewhat noisy and caused me to wake up a few times each night.
Emotionally, this is a 1 star experience but I have to at least add one star back due to the place being beautiful, the staff being friendly and pleasant, and a usable fitness facility.
Beautiful hotel, great location, friendly staff. Didn't eat in the restaurants or drink at the bar. Would have liked a complimentary newspaper delivered and a continental breakfast, but didn't get either.
Geared towards business conferences and rightly so. Fantastic in that regard.
I'm staying here as part of my company's annual user conference and have nothing to complain about. The service is great, the hotel is conveniently located in downtown, a block from the conference center, touching on the River Walk, and is less than a quarter mile from the Alamo and many other attractions and amenities. I would definitely recommend it if you are in San Antonio.
Absolutely love this hotel! Perfect location right on the riverwalk. Wonderful restaurants, beautiful rooms, super comfortable beds - absolutely superb concierge lounge. If you can, get a room on the concierge level - the lounge as abundant, delicious breakfast and dinner offerings. Professional, kind, personable staff - from the front desk to the concierge lounge to the maintenance. Love love love this place!!
I'm checking out if the hotel today and I wanted to make it my business to compliment Josiah(I hope I'm spelling his name right). He was a heaven sent from the minute I walked into the door until the moment I left. Also Steve(I think his name is Steve or Stephen), the valet guy. He was very courtoues and helpful beyond belief. I love them all. They helped make the best weekend of my life even more special and because of them, every time I come visit my airmen/fiancee in San Antonio I will only stay here. No matter the price. Also the hotel is freaking beautiful and has the best location ever!!!! I loved it!!!! Best place to get proposed to EVER!!
The hotel looked great on the outside and the lobby was very inviting and comfortable. The rooms needed to be refreshed as they still had a 90s feel to them with the carpets and furnishings. The guest services were extremely friendly and helpful and pushed my rating up to a 4. At first it didn't feel like anything special, but I got a solid 10 hours of sleep in my bed.
