no frills place to stay, this can be considered --- just be wary of the long shuttle waiting time, discourteous driver, and a lady Front Office Personnel who has no interest on guests' satisfaction.
Room is well lit, with A/C, basic and acceptable sans the hair strands on the bed and in tub (not mine), and a fly that comes as bonus with the room stay.
The night duty staff at the front office was helpful upon check in but hopefully there will be some improvements on the instructions given as to the designated shuttle pick up area (caused confusion) & pick up times that go more than an hour. Best to go with instructions from airport desk as from personal experience, I had to go back and forth to both ends of the arrival area due to the lack of awareness by the Inn personnel on the changes made at the airport. To top it off, waiting more than an hour for an angry shuttle driver was not the best.
If you are a guest who arrives late at night, it does not help when you have a 2 hrs delay checking in.
Although late check outs are allowed, there is a charge for every hour after the standard check out time. Understandable if they were able to pick you up on time (with charges for night shuttle) and check you in. But with the delay caused by them, NO CONSIDERATION --- you get charged --- no ifs or buts.
Front Office Night duty were helpful to give numbers to a pizza delivery (bar was closed by the time around 1130pm) but FRONT OFFICE DAY STAFF (LADY) was of no help on the late check-out charges and completely ignored me the first 2 times I asked.
Sadly, NO effort for good customer service.
The Inn itself is acceptable --- the staff /customer service --- I would rate as poor.
Let me preface this review by saying this establishment may not be for you if you're used to staying at 5 star hotels. That said, the hotel is old, but is in the process of getting a uplift it seems. Rooms are clean and tidy-but as I noted quite dated. Food - dinner and breakfast is very very good. The wings I had here is some of the best I've had. Anywaysjust thought I'd give a realistic review of what to expect if you are used to 5 star hotels. Happy stay. Cheers.
Roadway Inn & Suites continue to out do themselves in price, service, cleanliness and professionalism. The staff continues to go above and beyond to assure all you needs are met. They also over free shuttles from the airport to Roadway Inn and arrangements are made at check in for shuttle service to the Cruise Ports all inclusive. Excellent price and services. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ All the way.
Everything was about what you would expect, but there were a couple of anomalies. One was that I saw a tiny roach on the bathtub when I first came in. It was the only one I saw, but it made me think there were probably more in the area. The other issue was the bathroom door. The door has less than a 1/4" clearance from the sink. If the door would swing out rather than into the bathroom I think this problem would be solved. It was a bit silly that I almost had to stand in the bathtub to close the door. Breakfast was about par for complimentary, but a bit of a madhouse when everyone is there getting it at the same time. The parking for the park and cruise section was a bit narrow for most any car. I don't know if I could have got out of the car if the next space had not been vacant. The staff is nice and a pleasure to deal with, but the facilities need updating.
Great place to lodge if you would like to be convenient to the airport. They provide a free shuttle service which is awesome. Nice Mercedes Benz shuttle buses. Room is big and roomy with hardwood floors. The hotel manager was personal and I appreciate that would stay again but this time maybe in the Jacuzzi suite. Wink! They also have a restaurant on site a bar and a place to purchase adult beverages for your room. Overall I would stay there again.
checking in to this hotel took 1 hour with only 3 people ahead of us in line. The front desk clerk said their computers weren't working, printers not working, didn't know how to run a credit card, et.. And even worse the manager did not help. worst experience ever checking in and it seemed like they had no concern for the long line of people who were clearly frustrated. The owner of this hotel should consider a 'clean sweep' of the hotel front desk staff including management to get things under control. the room was great, nice pool, etc.. Its just hard to rate this hotel positively when just the simple check in process was so difficult.
--- edit 10/22. surprised to see how unprofessional the owner is in their responses to all the reviews. I wish I had come on google reviews before deciding to book here because the comments from ownership to reviews from their customers would have deterred me from staying here. I hope others take the time to read and steer clear of this place
We booked this place because it was very affordable for a group rate. Has a bar and possibly food but not sure because I didn't eat there. I just had drinks. Landscaping is okay. Decent looking pool. Two ice machines but one was broke so had to walk to the farthest end for ice. You get complimentary breakfast but it's okay at best. Worst part were the roaches in the bathroom. A lot of baby roaches and one big one.
Stayed two nights at this reasonably priced hotel - got in very late and the friendly desk clerk took care of me right away. It's a quirky place, not modern-looking outside, but the rooms are updated, with lots of outlets (important) and a sturdy desk/comfy desk chair which was easy to get work done at. Room was super clean, quiet, fast internet, and the location is great - close to both downtown Ft Lauderdale and the airport. Hotel was everything I needed, and reasonably priced. High value for your money, at this price point I give it five stars.
The rooms were quite dated. We found 5 or 6 creepy crawlies (bugs) in the room as well. No roaches, but they should invest in an exterminator. There was brown mold/rot/wear around the baseboards and mystery stains on the popcorn ceiling. It simply was not a nice room or a pleasant sleep. The staff, however, were all nice and the shuttle service was a nice bonus, if it was a bit late getting us from the airport (45+ minutes) and a bit hectic getting on the shuttle to the cruise port. Overall, for the price, you can do better. If you're okay with a room that's safe and adequate Maybe? Wouldn't really recommend this to friends and family.
This is always a good go to hotel when cruising out of Fort Lauderdale. Free pick up from the airport and cruise port. We did the Day Room at the Rodeway Inn. Room was a normal size room and the cost was only $59.99 + taxes. We got off the Harmony of the Seas and was picked up by Rodeway and brought to the hotel around 9:45am. Got checked in with no problem and we got to enjoy the pool and room until 6pm. Front Desk verified when we needed to be taken to the airport and provided free transportation.
If you can find a deal, this hotel is nice for what it has to offer.
Our client Anthony Rogers recently stayed here and was very eager to report how great his stay was! He really enjoyed how clean and quiet the rooms were, and that there was a sports bar and grill on-site so he didn't have to spend time looking for food before the gig. We can't wait to send our clients back!
Customer Service was great! Very clean and convenient. Professional and friendly! Restaurant and bar next door was EXCELLENT! I would DEFINITELY stay here again!
We booked the cheapest room offered and it shows, the ac system rattles when the wall ac unit is running and squeals upon turning off. The room isn't sealed and insulated well, you can hear everything going on outside the room without effort and the room heats up rather quickly when the ac unit is off. The room (2101) appears to be handicap accessible which may be worthwhile for those with such needs. Continental breakfast was alright, just don't expect anything fancy. The room was clean and tidy, i just think repairs are done in a lackluster manner.
In response to the comment from rodeway;
Yes, it is better than sitting at the airport. yes, we had an amazing time on our cruise. we respectfully declined a jacuzzi initially because of sanitary reasons (this goes for every hotel chain, not just this on specifically). as for room for improvement, 2101's main door doesn't seal, allowing both hot air and noise in. the ac unit rattles and will squeal upon the fan turning off. The ac system will also blow severely hot air upon the ac turning off while the fan's still running, hindering any temperature change the ac unit initially made.
I realize this isn't my business to run, but simply looking around and addressing the many issues that may seem minor will make a huge impact and improvement upon the outlook your customers will have.
I booked a day room here in March after a cruise for a family of 5 (We had a 7pm flight). The shuttle took about 1 hour to arrive at our ship. When we got to the hotel, a not-so-friendly lady checked-us in. We booked a 5pm shuttle to the airport and proceeded to our room. The room was ok and mostly clean. We did notice that it was dirty on the floor behind the toilet, which grossed us out a little bit. The grounds around the pool were beautiful, so this is where we spent most of our time. We took pictures and relaxed while waiting for our flight. This was much better than waiting at the airport. All in all, staying here was much better than waiting at the airport. If your expectations aren't too high, I believe that it is a good value, especially with the free shuttles.
After a cruise, my family had a day stay room with Rodeway Inn; well worth it. The price included transportation from the cruise port everglades - to the hotel and then to the airport. Room was nice and clean and I was able to relax and get caught up on "Walking Dead" until it was time to depart for our flight. This hotel a 5 star in my book. The day stay time is from 10 - 6. The staff allowed my family to stay in room until 8 since I had a later flight home at no additional cost. I will always stay at Rodeway Inn; exceptional service.
