I would stay here again. I was her for my second anniversary.absolutly beautiful, great service and food
I had a confirmed ground floor handicap room. When I arrived they had put us on the 2nd floor and if there were to be a fire my parents could not get down the stairs. The comment I got was "there won't be a fire." They tried to put us in another hotel not as nice and further away. When I objected they did place us in a ground floor cottage but not handicap accessible. Due to the low toilets no grab bars my Mother fell. When I notified Marriott they never said how is your Mother, is there anything we can do. They just justified not giving us the room we had reserved and had confirmed papers and offered us a 20% discount and then offered 1 night free. BEWARE if you are elderly and /or handicap.
What can I say but blown away by how great my stay was while I was here for work. We work colleague and I received a very friendly welcome when we arrived along with appetizers & drinks 6:00-7:30. The staff was absolutely wonderful! They made our stay feel like home. Breakfast feels just like you’re walking into your very own kitchen the wY they have it set up with a delicious breakfast buffet. My room was very nice and had a cute fresh flower arrangement in a southern mint julep pewter cup. Outside included a warm fire pit pool side in a quaint peaceful courtyard.
I will definitely return and recommend to others!
I am writing today to express my frustration, disappointment, and quite frankly anger over the level of service I received from the front desk and hotel management while staying at the Residence Inn Savannah Downtown/Historic District for my wedding this past weekend. Our group had reserved 25 rooms as part of our wedding block, plus 6 additional rooms booked on rewards points by fellow elite members or guests that were denied the group rate and paid full price booking. Upon arrival at approximately noon, we were greeted very harshly. I wasn't even offered the usual appreciation for my loyalty to Marriott for being an elite member. This attitude remained common from the management for the entirety of our 3 night stay. My fiancé and I were told we could not check in till the standard check-in time, and when we asked if they could check with housekeeping if a room was ready, our request was denied. I was honestly in shock that this was the approach of the staff, even after explaining that we were there for our wedding. My fiancé proceeded to call Marriott corporate, and it wasn't until that and a representative from housekeeping stopping us as we were unloading our car, that magically a room became available. Needless to say, with the stresses of executing our wedding and receiving all of our guests, that even the slightest bit of flexibility would have gone along way. Then as we proceeded with the check-in process, we couldn't even get an apology. Just the same attitude that they were doing us a favor by letting us have the honor of staying at their hotel.
I would have been willing to let all this go until it came to the nights of our welcome dinner and wedding reception. We had asked prior to choosing this property, about whether or not we could utilize the common areas of the hotel to enjoy our time together as our new family. We were told that we would be able to do so throughout the night and weekend without issue. "When you stay here you're part of our family" was the exact quote given to us. Then in steps 'Leroy' the hotel security guard.
On Friday night he kicked out a small group of 5 adults (our parents and their siblings) claiming they were being loud and obnoxious. This couldn't be further from the truth, and is truly insulting. I stood on the other side of the door, where I could hear nothing of their conversation. I then witnessed him do this to 2 ladies later in the evening.
On Saturday I again explained to him at the beginning of the night that we were wrapping up our evening after the wedding reception. He then proceeded to attempt to kick us out of the common area of the hotel and call the police on us. When I asked to speak to management, I was told that they were receiving complaints, but would provide no further details. When I spoke to the GM, he decided it was appropriate to call me liar about the staff telling us we would be able to use those areas as we pleased, as well as denying that the ordeal of our check-in process ever took place.
As a frequent business traveler, I have choices when booking my stays, but have chosen to place my loyalty to the Marriott brand. While this was an extremely uncommon occurrence, given the reason for our stay, the attitude of this management group is making me begin to question whether my loyalties are misplaced.
A very nice hotel with very nice people. Was upgraded to a cottage. it was very nice. Would definitely stay there again
Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff! Looks like new renovation had taken place as well. Very neat kitchen area downstairs (hotel, right?). Good walking location to downtown. Highly recommend
Beautiful hotel within walking distance of all major Savannah attractions. Conveniently located next to the visitor center which is wonderful when planning your vacation. The staff are great and the breakfast is amazing and complementary with your room stay. Definitely a great place to stay for anyone visiting Savannah.
Room was wonderful. Like a home away from home. Also loved that i had so much room to work as well. Fast WiFi and great room service. Thanks!
Great place to stay for a wedding that took place at the nearby railroad museum. Walkable to downtown or short cab, good breakfast, working WiFi, and nice room complete with kitchen. Wouldn't mind staying here again!
The room was amazing. Lots of space and comfortable. The staff were kind and accommodating. The hotel was within walking distance to everything. We truly enjoyed our visit.
Location is good if you don't mind walking a bit. If you want something a bit quiet, then this is perfect. Room was a great size. We had a king sized bed and a sleeper sofa. Service was excellent! Everyone was super helpful and friendly! Would go back.
Affordable dog friendly hotel with great service. We stayed there the week after Christmas. The front desk gave us treats for our dog and were very accommodating when we wanted to switch rooms (they had originally placed us right next to the elevator). Rooms and hotel were clean, nicely decorated, and quiet. Breakfast in the morning is included and perfect before heading out for a day of sightseeing. Hotel location is also good, close enough to the interstate, but also located within walking distance to many sites/restaurants. It's also right next to a historic battlefield site, train museum, and Savannah visitor center. The only downside is the front desk staffthey couldn't figure out my final charges upon checkout and couldn't provide a copy of the bill. I had to call back later once a manager arrived; they said they would email me a copy and I have yet to receive one. My cc is also showing a weird series of charges and refunds. Overall a great hotel, but keep an eye on the charges.
