The rooms are spacious. The hotel had great amenities (gym, pool, laundry, free breakfast). Staff is courteous and very helpful. A great place to stay.

As a Marriott Gold member, this is the WORST Marriott my wife and I have ever stayed at. In just a short 2 nights stay, many things surprised us but I will just name the headliners:

1) 30 minutes of settling into our room, another guest walked into our room (with key card access) while my wife was getting ready for the night. The front desk had somehow over booked our room? How does this happen?

I can get over it, things happen but here is the kicker

2) I pull back the sheets for the bed to find old blood stains on the sheets. Pictures attached.

As you can imagine, at this point my wife and I are grossed out.

After our stay, I get a call from the housekeeping supervisor that apologized profusely and states this is a one-off thing that never happens. Well, looking at the other reviews (that I failed to look at due to my trust of the Marriott brand) this seems like an ongoing occurrence.

Then..

3) Leadership at this Marriott are liars. I was promised they would rectify the situation and that has yet to happen.

To sum it all up, DO NOT BOOK HERE. PERIOD. You'll have a good chance (similar reviews) someone walks into your room, old stained sheets, and a leadership team that is incompetent. The GM is never onsite and feedback from their own employees is that she is useless. (I kid you not, multiple employees told me that).

Really nice comfortable place with all the amenities. Close to a lot of bars and restaurants. Definitely would recommend to anyone wanting to have a good time.

Recently redone and updated, with very clean and nice large rooms. Walking distance to the conference center. I would stay here again for the price, cleanliness, recent updated rooms, and free breakfast.

Arrived early and was allowed early check in, which took less than an hour. Room has a kitchenette complete with full refrigerator and a mini stove range. Multiple tabletops to use, and plenty of outlets for devices (unlike the Residence Inn at Mira Mesa). Access to room as well as elevators and front door is via RFID card. There is also a bar lounge area with happy hour in the evenings. Updated and clean, it is in a good location for those who want to dine or explore the downtown/Gaslamp area. Minus: valet parking only; find a public garage instead.

Love this place! Very nice room and throw in the free hot breakfast in the morning and it cannot be beat! Kitchenette in the room and it makes it super convenient for any stay. Would stay again and again.

Super clean. Nice room. Full size fridge, dishes, sink, dishwasher and stove in room. Be aware there is a mostly glass door between the main room and the toilet so if you are squeamish about bathroom noises then this isn't for you. Paul Mitchell toiletries and a reasonably comfortable bed. Only downside to location is you get a bit of noise from the partying in Gaslamp. We were on the 7th floor and could hear yelling etc around 1-2 am. Other than that it was excellent!

Good place but just short of great. Valet
Parking is $45 per day however you can come in and out as you please. Breakfast served daily till 9 or 10 am depending on the day. Staff is great. Bar/restaurant located inside hotel. 3 blocks from petco park.

This place was perfect! My husband and I had a lovely time here. Our room was beautiful, but, we didn't have a view of anything special. However, I'm sure there were rooms there that have a spectacular view. There is several places within walking distance to eat, and, the complimentary breakfast was amazing!

Excellent location, close to convention center, the zoo and restaurants. Friendly staff. We chose to stay there for their Excellent free Breakfast. Rooms are nice and clean with a kitchenette. The only downside was the size of the bed, it was too small.

Location is the best part. Very walkable. Close to the ball park, Balboa Park, restaurants, theaters, and the convention center. Tiny pool. Rooms are smallish but workable. Beds are smaller than the traditional sizes. (The Queen is closer to a double, and the King is closer to a Queen.) Not much soundproofing, but not a big deal. Coin operated guest laundry.

Quick turn around trip, price was unbeatable. Location is in the heart of Downtown. Great hotel. Easy breakfast in the morning, little cramped but that is because of the renovation on the lobby which is almost done. Rooms were clean and new with a view of downtown and the baseball stadium.

Great hotel with a super staff. It's conveniently located and you can valet park or park next door . They serve a very good breakfast and again, have a great staff. The lobby is comfortable and there is a bar just off the lobby that it very convenient.

Good location and clean room. Staff was friendly. Service at the in hotel restaurant was so slow but food was fine. Great breakfast in the AM for kids. Biggest downside it the room facing the streets is right next to a big night club so it's very load very late into the night on the weekend. It may not even be the club itself but the people driving through the area with their music basting. Not really the hotel's fault, just ask to stay in a room not facing the street if you can.
