Always a great place to stay in downtown San Diego. Outstanding service, good amenities, and a near-perfect location close to the Gaslamp Quarter, Convention Center, and Harbor. Less than a block from the trolley stop. The lobby is a wonderful spot to relax, and breakfast is top-notch. The rooms can be a bit snall, and train noise on the lower floors can be a distraction, so stay on an upper floor if you are bothered by such things. This is the best option for staying downtown in my opinion.
Great location, modern and clean hotel. Smaller and more relaxed than the much bigger Bayfront Hilton. May be the most comfortable bed in SD. Walking distance to everything, only major pitfall is required Valet parking costs $49.
Free Parking Tip: If you drive a block or two north and west, you'll find meter spots that don't start until 8a or even a bunch that start at 10a.
The room was recently redone and clean. Great location. Standard bathroom with nice Peter Thomas Roth toiletries and the shower had great hot water and great pressure. Really enjoyed the view out the window of trains going by and the park that people would take their dogs to. Only stayed one night, but would return in the future.
A good stay. Everyone was polite and helpful. Corner Room was a very good size. Air conditioning was a little poor taking all day to cool the baking room to a cool temperature. Nice to have a pool to relax in. Easy to get to the transit (2 minute walk to the station) Can be a little noisy at night when the freight trains roll by!
Overall a good stay at this hotel. Notably, the second floor is rather noisy, especially room 224. However, hotel staff were helpful in getting me a new room, which was quieter and perfectly fine. Great location near conference hotel and places to eat. Reasonable rate for the stay. Overall recommended.
Not that great for a Hilton hotel. Particularly for a Downtown area where all the hotels are very well maintained. Be aware of a $49 dollar parking fee per night.
came here for my anniversary and it was great because its located in a convenient part of down town San Diego. It's clean, welcoming, and it has a nice pool area with a great view. And it has a gym and velt parking and a parking structure around the corner for those who are smart. Service is great and honestly it's my favorite hotel to stay at in this area.
The hotel is in a great location, but the rooms leave something to be desired. They are pretty old looking once inside. We spent our trip with a barely functioning air conditioner, and consequently got very uncomfortable sleep. Otherwise, the common areas of the hotel are very nice and the staff was very friendly.
Nice looking hotel. A bit frustrated by the check-in process. Checked in online and pick our room. When we arrived the room we chose was not ready. No problem we said, text us in an hour when room is ready. Upon returning to the hotel the room we requested, pre-checked in and waited for was not given to us because the "previous occupant" decided to stay..why bother to check-in on-line and wait for room to be ready waste of time, we are silver members didn't even get a bottle of water 😠. Not a great start to our special weekend get away.
Very nice hotel. My room was comfortable, but being close to the street and elevator, loud at times. The front desk was very friendly and helpful with information about the area. My room was always clean after the maid visited. The location of the hotel cannot be beat. It is directly across the street from the convention center, the trolley stops right in front, and the best locations in the Gaslamp Quarter are within walking distance. There is a very nice pool and a small but functional fitness center. If you hop the trolley, some of San Diego's best attractions are only minutes away from the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp, including the zoo and Balboa Park. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.
Decent continental breakfast (didn't have the full breakfast). Check in was smooth and very friendly. Package acceptance is $5!! Gym is well-equipped, and the terrace is cute. Room is standard, with a smaller-than-average bathroom.
Good place to stay, especially if you're going to an event at the Convention Center. The restaurant in the hotel is pretty good (try the tacos!) and there's so much to eat and do within walking distance.
We took a big friend vacation and everyone was able to book here. The check in was too quick, lol, and by the time I arrived the employees already knew about our group and made us feel VIP. They even kept our rooms close. The location was PERFECT for an entire downtown experience. Everything we needed was in walking distance. It was of course a weekend.. And the weekend atmosphere and nights were lively and exciting. To hear music and laughter from your window really sets a mood. I could wave to my friends as they walked the quarter. Overall, I plan to stay again and again whenever I'm in San Diego. Rooms were nice and clean, bed was GREAT.
The staff was great! So friendly and they checked me in and out quickly. I didn't care for the parking situation. It's $49 a night, which is way too much. I recommend parking at Ace Parking two blocks over. It's $15. I also had a $50 hold put on my credit card in addition to the total amount, which seemed unnecessary. Additionally, guest wifi was barely passable. It kept cutting in and out. Overall, a great stay marred by some inconvenient factors.
my stay was okay. i paid for a nice room or so it seemed in the details online. the room just seemed like a basic room to me. i should have just gotten the cheaper one. the beds were semi comfortable the pillows were nice it was decently clean overall i was okay with my stay. i feel like the room was way overpriced and over sold not what i expected.
