We had a top floor room in the North Tower with a nice view of the marina from the balcony. The hotel was what you would expect from a flagship property - enormous pool and first-rate fitness facility, tasteful decor, comfortable beds and good food. The location was perfect for us because it was close to the light rail line and the Gas Lamp District.

My only disappointment was that the poolside bar stopped serving food before dinner, presumably to encourage guests to opt for more expensive dining options.

I also hate paying for hotel WiFi. I own this to some degree because we could have avoided the charge if I had kept track of my Marriott rewards number. In any event, I think it is foolish to charge $12+ a day to guests who want to access the Internet.

Beautiful views, pool is incredible. It can be a little windy and chilly by the outside bar which is surprising, so dress appropriately. Had lunch there when I arrived. Food was very goodmini beef tacos, ahi tuna appetizer and a margarita, but total was $50! A little on the pricey side especially due to small portions. However, still this place and hope to come back when I can enjoy it, not just for business.

One of my favorite hotels in San Diego. Amazing views of the marina. Walking distance to all the nice restaurants. Their breakfast buffet cannot be missed!! And they even have a 24/7 cafe/kitchen that offers almost everything. It also has a Starbucks inside it!

Nice large hotel and convention center in downtown San Diego. Only a 10-15 minute drive to the beaches, Coronado Island, the Midway and many other fun places. The rooms are comfortable and inviting. The Starbucks right next to the elevators is a welcomed commodity. I would highly recommend. Great for business travel as it's relatively close to the airport and the downtown business district.

The hotel is a 5 star world class resort located right next to the SD convention center and a two minute walk to Seaport Village and the Gaslamp District. There are several restaurants on site from sit down to a 24 hour snack bar to a Starbucks! The rooms are large and have great views of ether Downtown San Diego or SD bay! There are two pools, a hot tub and spa on site. There is a large gift / sundries shop, with a nice selection of swimwear and t-shirts. The staff is attentive and will make sure that your stay is great!

The hotel is on the water and is beautiful inside and out. There is a lot of seating and lounging areas in and around the hotel. It's a nice place to do work or spend time chatting with friends. It is a nice venue for a conference, which invites networking and casual side conversation after talks etc.. The staff is professional, kind, quick and out seems like they go out of their way to ensure a pleasant experience for their guests. I found my standard room on the North side of the hotel to be spacious and comfortable. One con is that I can hear the person's phone conversation through the wall slightly, but that is not uncommon.

Stayed here in July 2016. We got to check-in early, which was fantastic! Got a great corner room with a panoramic view of the marina, harbor, Coronado & the bridge. Beautiful! Room & bathroom were big, updated & modern. Only missed having a balcony Ate at Exchange because it was easy & food was okay. Pool could be a bit bigger & warmer, but was still fun for both day & night swimming! Pool area is very nice, with water features, plus fire pits for the mornings & evenings (as the buildings create a big of a wind tunnel & it can be cold). The reflection of the sun off the building could be blinding when at the pool or even on the Boardwalk. It also created a surreal light at the pool at about 3pm, which was kind-of cool. Starbucks was VERY convenient! Hotel was very busy with a conference of high schoolers, who were generally well-behaved, but clogged the elevators at times. Lots of good places to eat close by (found on Yelp of course) & things to do. Overall a good place for a stay-cation.

Stayed here in August when the weather was gorgeous. North Tower rooms facing the water all have balconies with a nice view of the pool area, marina, and Coronado bridge. Pool area has a resort feel with 2 pools, 2 hot tubs, towel service, bar/restaurant, and many lounge chairs.

I also attended a yoga class in the hotel. It's very convenient to be able to do yoga while traveling, and I enjoyed this amenity. The yoga studio within the fitness center was new and clean, and had clean yoga mats.

The staff here have been very friendly and accommodating. I'm writing as a conference attendee and an overnight guest. Location is wonderful. Ten minute drive to the zoo. Walking distance from the gaslight district, seaport village, the airship carrier, and the ferry to Coronado. The pool and setting very nice kept at a good temp. Prime swimming hours are from 10-4. Shadows cast during the rest of the day. The shape of the hotel structure brings a strong wind through which can get rather cold. Highly recommend. As a conference attendee the rooms are nice, but really spread apart. Getting from session to session takes a lot of time. Let alone find. Some rooms in one tower, some rooms on the other. But the facilities are pristine with nice views of the outside.

The rooms are lovely with the best ones having a balcony and view of the bay. There is a Starbucks on the first floor which the caffeine addict in me appreciated. Parking is a little expensive, especially valet. What really makes this hotel stand out is how friendly the staff is. Really great customer service with a smile.

Starting from the pamper that your eyes will be submitted with their almost Tuscan landscape . the colors, decoration, textures, smells are all well thought through out the resort.
The staff very polite and attentive.
Addison restaurant is superb hands down an amazing experience in flavors and in service.
The little coffee shop is fantastic and great for nibbles.
Amaya restaurant is beautiful looking but the food its not quite there, there was a new chef so maybe she still finding her ground but was accruals disappointing food. But the view, the service and atmosphere was superb.

I attended a convention and stayed at the Hard Rock. My experience was good, nothing special or out of the ordinary. When I first got there it was late, I asked the receptionist where I could grab something quick. She said room service was best bet. I ordered room service, they said 30-45min. 70mins later, I called and they said it was on the way. I said forget it, put my do not disturb and went to bed. 30min later, someone is knocking at my door. The hotel also decided to add services to my end bill I never used. They did remove it but at the end shouldn't of happened. I will most likely stay somewhere else next time due to more value adds, like continental breakfast that the hard rock does not offer.

Hotel was packed but service was still swift and courteous. Rooms were nice, and well equipped for a week's stay. Location is beautiful, right on the water. North tower has the nicer rooms. Would recommend staying here.
