My wife's sister is homeless and tried buying her a room for a week from a different state. The manager was rude, disrespectful and had an attitude throughout the entire transaction.
I am highly disappointed in this place & will never be using them again.

WARNING: This place has bedbugs and they don't care. They are not apologetic about it either, they rather call a customer a liar than be professional and handled it properly.

If you decide to stay here after reading all the negative reviews, you stay at your own risk. You've been warned.

This place is nice and clean. A good place to rest up after lots of traveling. Many resturants are within walking distance

It was all we could expect for 60 bucks in downtown Dan Diego. About a 10 minute walk to gaslight (or gaslamp it might be called). Internet provided and coffee! I managed to lose a swipe card and they didn't charge me for it. Bargain place and recommended. 4 stars!

It was a great stay. Service was above average. I'm a regular guest at various motels and locations and would absolutely recommend the downtown lodge for any travelers or persons looking to book a low level hotel for a great price. I was able to book and arrive/check in within a matter of minutes and was greeted kindly and professionally by the on duty clerk. Rooms were what you can expect from any 2 1/2 motel. A output small but clean and cozy.

Nowhere does it says that you need a $100.00 deposit. So with the $100.00 for the room, (i know it saids $95.00 but I was quoted $100.00) you also need a 100.00 deposit. Shady operators to say the least.

It seems they are updating the place but they have ways to go. House keeping needs to be improved. The reception desk is helpful. Parking is not guaranteed.

This place is very sketchy. Bums all around. I saw two bums walk behind the hotel looking suspicious, where there is a random walkway that is not safe at all. Back windows face that unsafe walkway. These windows are not secured by any railing or anything, I just wanted the weekend that I spent there to be over. My most depressing visit in SD ever! I was not comfortable leaving my valuables in my own room. Do NOT stay here if you are not on a budget! As we checked in, the owner/manager was yelling at an employee in the lobby while she was checking us in, she had to apologize for him. I knew that it was not going to be a good stay from the get-go.
