We recently ended up in the Emergency Room at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. We were seen immediately. Every staff member and medical professional was courtesy, friendly, knowledgeable and timely. We were in a stressful situation and they made us feel comfortable and that we were a priority.
I am in Atlanta as a visitor from Pittsburgh, Pensylvania. I went to the Emergency Room yesterday for some issues that weren't resolving and I couldn't wait until I got back to Pittsburgh since it'll be over 2 weeks away. I was hesitant to seek help in a foreign city, but decided to go to Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. The Emergency Department was clean, friendly, and I quickly starting receiving treatment and laboratory and diagnostic testing. The physicians and nurses I encountered were competent, attentive, and congenial. I have been a nurse for over 36 years and a Family Nurse Practitioner for 22 years and have worked in and have been a patient in many hospitals. Special thanks to Dr. Nichols in the ER and Valery, RN, in the ER. They are excellent! This is an excellent facility! Thank you!!!
Taken in by ambulance, I was in nine days and with only one exception received the BEST care. Cannot say enough good words about nurses and assistants. Food was good too.
I had both my babies here and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this hospital. I moved further away from the practice I used that delivers here during my second pregnancy. I still decided to make the drive because finding a place that cares about you and takes care of you like you are important and family is hard to find. So thank you Piedmont Hospital of Atlanta for your outstanding service. I send everyone I know here.
I think this hospital has no respect for the patient or there guests the staff treated my daddy like apiece of meat. He could never enjoy his meals which were never given to him on time, he always got them about 2 to 3 hours late. He is a diabetic and no one cared the staff's that comes for him were so rude. Treated my father and I like we were nothing and they were here to make their hours and get a check. Its like a factory in this hospital no comparison at all
I went to the ER and verified I was not dying from a heart attack, that was a good thing.
They wanted me to have a stress test the next morning. They told me NO CAFFEINE and they would call me in the morning.
I took off of work, waited all day, and received a call late that afternoon to set up an appointment for a stress test the following week.
Apparently the stress test was not an urgent need.
I need to get in contact with a manager or supervisor for an employee that's works here who found my information about where I live. She has been stalking me coming up to my place of work threatening me and my children and I'm also with child at the moment. This is very unprofessional of her and I feel like she is going to get her self hurt by a crazy situation. I do plan on getting a restraining order against her because she is really crazy, she seriously needs help. She even calls my phone at her place of work I just don't see how anyone could hire a psychopath and not know about it. Her name is Yazmine Rogers I'm not sure what departure she works in just know her name. For a manager or supervisor that sees this please respond to my review and we can go from there, thanks so much.
I had a great experience. My nurse Christina was terrific. She was very kind and helpful. She took the time to learn about my husband and me. I didn't feel like just another patient. The team who performed my procedure were great as well. They made me very comfortable and explained everything in detail. Everyone I came in contact with were great!
Updated on March 24:
(Part of the following review was originally logged in February 14, and later was removed by Yelp. I am reposting it with updates and made the timeline clearer.)
Even though they have good doctors, avoid this hospital at all cost.
The doctors are good and the nurses are mostly okay, but we will never go back to this hospital again. 5 months after my wife's surgery at Piedmont Hospital, we are still dealing with the mess with their billing systems.
Make this very long story short, here is the sequence of events:
Late January:
- We got a letter from a collection agency about a bill at Piedmont we have not paid.
- We called the collection agency and verified things and get the information they have.
- We then checked our insurance statement and called the insurance company to verify the charges and what we owe.
- We then called the collection agency again and we were told that we can either pay them or pay the hospital directly.
- We called the hospital, and asked them why we never got a bill and they insisted that they sent the bill 3 times, which I highly doubt. (I check my mail carefully all the time, and I trust the post office way better than the hospital in this case.)
- I paid the bill over the phone with our medical payment card. I did receive the payment confirmation in the email.
- I called collection agency again and told them the authorization code on the payment confirmation.
- A few days later the receipt in the mail as I requested.
On February 14:
- The collection agency called again and said they did not receive any notice about the payment we made to the hospital.
- After talking with the agent at the agency and confirming every piece of information and sending the collection agency all the records we have about the payment we already made, we are convinced that the hospital put the payment on a wrong account.
- Now the collection agency is trying to help us to correct the error the hospital made.
Update on March 24 with new events:
- On February 15, we got another bill for different amount. Let’s call the one from the collection agency amount A and this new bill amount B. I added amount A and amount B together, and the total matches what we also have on an update statement from the insurance company. I would guess that we still owe this new amount B.
- I called the hospital and asked about this new amount and they confirmed that the amount B is a new bill. This is four months after the surgery, and they are still generating new bills.
- On February 19 or 20, my original review was taken down from Yelp and some customer relationship rep from Piedmont asked me to provide my name and phone number through an email via Yelp. I provided the contact information as well as my wife’s account number.
- On about February 25 or 26, I got a call from the hospital asking a few questions about the billing, apologized about the inconvenience and said that they are applying the amount A, which we paid to them in late January, to the right account. I asked about the new amount B on the new bill, she checked the system and said that I should discard it. I doubted that discarding it is right but thought that I could wait a little bit and see how things would go from there.
- I few days later, we got a whole bunch of photo copied bills and statements by mail, but there was no letter or anything stating about the payment we made. I am not sure what triggered them to send all the stuff to us, and thought that might be the summary of some stuff.
- On March 24, we got a new bill from the hospital. I thought that it should be the amount B again. Surprise, they are billing us the total amount of A and B, while we already paid the amount A two months ago.
Question to the billing department of the hospital: both amounts I mentioned above are not really high, but I just want to know when this nightmare will be over.
Not sure what the people are like but whomever the answers the phone is rude. NEVER answered but went straight to music, then disconnected a long distance call. When calling back, she seemed irritated that she I had called the hospital by mistake. Just rude. Should find another job if she's overwhelmed! Customer service goes a long way especially when dealing with persons who have family and they may be in YOUR or ANY hospital. Glad my family is not there!
Great hospital staff very professional and understanding. They really do their best to get u feeling as good as they possibly can. The hospital is a little far from where I live but they are so worth the drive!!! I am currently admitted here and I can say no wrong about them I've been here since Thursday and the staff have been excellent each nurse I have had are wonderful and have been on time with my meds I love this hospital!!!!!
They took care of me from the time I came in until I left. My daughter Was seen in the Emergency room it only took 1.5 hour!! All the staff was professional and very caring.. Got there Friday at 7pm was done at 8:30pm. The best hospital and excellent staff. This hospital is about their business. Thanks Piedmont!!!
The wait in the er was very long. But once I got in. Dam. Best service. Nicest people. They are going to fix a problem I've had over 5 years. They worked with me on payment's. This is my new hospital. I drove about an hour to get here. And yes it was worth it.
