I have never had such an awful experience. I had to wait 6 hours for a surgery that was scheduled at 10am and didn't happen till 4pm. Not only did I feel disrespected as a patient. but as a human being. Seeing as my surgeon and doctors acted as if they were better than I because of how long they have been here. I've delt with physical problems changing dressings and doing wound care for the past 7 years that I know what my body wants and needs. the only good thing about my stay was my nurse. Thank you Ma for making me feel better.

It began around 2:30 a.m. I received a call from my doctor advising me to get to emergency. Having asthma and Multiple Sclerosis he deemed it necessary to be checked. Barely able to breath and unable to swallow without pain. Having barely eaten in over a week. This staff for the night was very unprofessional. Unhelpful. Caught up in a who checking who out conversation Instead of a concern for the two people in the emergency waiting. I arrived 5min to 3:00a.m. There was one person in the lobby. Only one. I waited to 6:45 am before I walked out. After being refused water. And being talked to as if I was inconveniencing them. Please note The gentleman who drew my blood isn't part of this review he was cool. The Staff besides him are an embarrassment to your hospital . Lack of tack, respect for themselves and your medical establishment. Embarrassment. Even the nurse taking information .She never looked at me talked sideways as I wasn't there. Horrible attitude. But I'm sure you know this already. This is practiced behavior. To end I finally walked out at 7a.m unseen. Then called my doctor. Then went to another facility. We're they took my vitals and got fixed up. Diagnosis bronchitis infection. This isn't the first time you let down. But it's the last

The staff was amazing. This was my first surgery and I wasn’t able to go back to my home state to be with family for the surgery. The anesthesiology staff were relatable and treated me with positive energy and great care. I immediately felt comfortable with them. The hospital was clean. I was previously scheduled at another hospital with extremely poor ratings and switched to this hospital and I am so happy I made that decision. I highly recommend this hospital at least for outpatient surgeries.

I was in the ED for severe digestive pain, admitted to ICU for extremely low sodium and high potassium. For the ED, I would rate 3, but the nurses in ICU are amazing, and always help when you need it. They are so nice and helpful, which is especially great when you're are sick and need something. For them, I have 5 stars.
Update: I applied for their Charity Care financial relief and my bill was completely removed! I had no job or insurance so that was a huge relief.response / report this review -

I have been suffering from what I thought was an ordinary stomach bug for a couple days. After day three my symptoms took a turn for the worst. I started vomiting and having severe stomach pains. After throwing up everything possibly left in my stomach, it still hurt. I felt the urge to use the bathroom (poop), I could tell it was going to be diarrhea, so I rushed to the toilet. After using the toilet I observed no stool what so ever, just a bloody discharge. It honestly looked like I started my period, but I'm a male I don't have one. After the second time of using the bathroom and the same thing, no stool just blood, sharp stomach pains, and excessive vomiting I decided to come to the er. Emory has a good name throughout Atlanta and I thought had a sufficient staff to be able to handle the illnesses that come through.
I arrived at Emory Midtown early in the morning around 230 am. The staff saw I was in pain, and couldn't stop throwing up (at this point all I'm throwing up is yellow bile), they were very responsive and quick to get me checked in, blood work done, and urine test done. They asked me to have a seat back in the waiting room while they waited for a room in the back to open up. Finally after 630 am, I'm still throwing up, still with the bloody stool, and sharp pains in my stomach I go up to the front and ask what was taking so long. They go and check into it, about an hour later, they call me back to the triage rooms and give me a pain pill and nausea pill, and told me to have a seat they would hook me up to fluids to keep me hydrated. 3 hours later I still do not have an iv, I just made it to the back. I've been in the room for almost 20 minutes and not seen anyone yet. However once I was called to the back I did notice a lot of people back here, so I'm a little less upset at this point. But it's clear to me the hospital is understaffed for the over night shift, and the staff they do have acts like they don't really care about the patients. This has been the first time I've been to a hospital in about 10 years, because no mater what hospital you go to this is always the same story. I still have to wait in iv fluids, a cat scan of my stomach, as well as an ultrasound. Let's hope I'm not here all day!
By the way, today is my birthday and this is not what I had in mind.response / report this review -

My daughter had a emergency preterm c section and the staff have all been wonderful. The doctors and nurses listen to our concerns and gave us reasonable options. After delivery her L&D made sure all that was needed was taken care of. I can't say enough about the professionalism and the clinical competency I noted from her nurses and nursing assistant. Her special care nurses were all attentive to her and the baby's needs, her lactation nurses came to see her everyday and were willing to assist her as needed. Her medical record worker, her social worker, her cafeteria worker were all very pleasant and caring. The "Ala cart" meal service was one of her favorite conveniences. We love this hospital and would recommend it highly. Thank you for the Ronald McDonald house!

Doctors Nurses@ most of staff are excellent. Top care with great support. Grateful for the entire crew. Special kudos to the pulmonary caregivers and Dr. Murphy, (who would make a great game show host or Soap Opera Doctor) he was confident and very capable and very amazingly competent. Oh, special thanks to ICU, Manny, and the rest of that unit.

My experience at the Emergency Room on 05/19/2017 was a nightmare. I have to wait for about 6 hours to be seen by a doctor. The chair at the emergency room were I was taken was with blood spot in the arm rest and in the chair base. The place needs a very deep clean in the areas where they treat patients and the waiting area. The room of the observation unit need to be updated. There were roaches and trash on the hallway. It was a very bad experience. I will never go to this hospital again for services.

Worst hospital in the world. What is the point of scheduling someone to be induced 2 weeks ahead of time if you aren't going to go by the schedule? I'm overdue, and all they can say is we're working on it. They promise they'll call you to update you, and they never call. If you don't call and check for yourself, you'll never know what's going on or when you should come into labor and delivery. Absolutely the worst. Do not have your child here.

I have been to the ER several times both by ambulance and walk in. There is always a wait either way however the walk in wait is ridiculous. Something to the time of 4hrs and counting. I may have been better off going to Piedmont. It is unfortunate that anyone has a make a trip to the hospital but when you have to wait in pain and sit on hard benches for SEVERAL hours, that just makes the whole experience that much more miserable. The physicians are pretty decent though.

The kind of hospital that you may be able to receive great care IF you've been shot or maybe missing appendages. If the issue is internal chances are it will be severely misdiagnosed or completely ignored. The doctors and specialists on staff at this facility have misdiagnosed two of my family members on separate occasions. One time refuting another facility's recommendation for surgery, which my cousin desperately needed and another time diagnosing my wife with a condition only elderly people get or heavy smokers (both of which she wasn't).

The emergency room is more like a walk-in clinic. As a result the wait time for treatment was ridiculous. My son was admitted for what may be extremely painful kidney stones. To their credit, the hospital got a quick triage in the first hour to rule out life threatening problems. Then he sat in the waiting room for more than 5 1/2 hours waiting to get the results of a ct scan and a consultation. We were there from 10 pm until nearly 6 am.
I know this situation is a result of the failed the health care system in the US but it is unreasonable. Bottom line: Unless you are in a life threatening situation, it is better to drive elsewhere.response / report this review
