I have to say as being a nurse myself what I have seen and witnessed at Grady Hospital is the worst I've ever seen. I informed my family if something ever happened to me that our local hospital couldn't care for me for them to take me to Piedmont Atlanta the care given from the majority of the nurses at Grady hospital is absolutely the worst I have ever seen it is worse than the care that you receive at a Skilled Nursing Facility. So if you have a stroke where you are unable to speak have delirium or confusion don't go to Grady because your loved one will be left with poor care or even death!!! When you ask for a charge nurse you won't get that you'll get another nurse that is covering other rooms to come and say may I help you, you get no where they leave things unattended. While my father has been there I have brought to their attn. 7 major things as in fluid overload, stage 1 pressure area, tachycardia, desaturation of oxygen, sleep apnea, urine retention in his bladder to the point of severe pain and then 4 days later dehydration!! Since my father had a massive stroke and can't talk so thank goodness I was there everyday and brought all of this to their attention as I was seeing it happen, so this is enough to let you know that the nurses definitely don't do their job!! Every single one of these that I brought to a nurse's attention and even the residence doctor they were assessed and found to be true this is very sad that me being the daughter having to do their job for them. If it wasn't for me being a nurse and knowing what I know he would have died from the dehydration since he was so symptomatic with EXTREMELY low blood pressure and completely lethargic.

I love this ER! It is the best in Atlanta. They make sure to always have enough staff to meet the patient’s needs. The ER wait is never longer than 30 mins every time I go. They even keep sandwiches to hand out to patients in need. Everyone knows Grady cares. Atlanta wouldn’t be what it is without Grady.

Mom’s appt at 9am in Neuroscience, it’s 10:56 and we’re still waiting. Only excuse being offered is, it’s a full day. I’ve seen more people that came after us, leaving because they’ve been seen. Be considerate of the sandwich generation, we work too, you know?

These five stars are for Phoebe Sutton. She appears to be a receptionist at the orange pod or Primary 1L. I hate coming to Grady, they can be so mean and rude sometimes. So imagine my surprise when Ms. Sutton greeted me with a big smile and a beautiful "Welcome to Grady!"
I would give the rest of the staff one star for kindness and 4 stars for knowing their jobs.
Nurse Practitioner Tiffaney Pollard is good at her job but as mean as a snake and she doesn't listen.response / report this review -

I actually had my doubts on being affiliated with Grady Hosiptal. I always thought a public hospital was not the best fit for me. Not until I lost my health insurance and now have to use Grady for all my medical needs. I have come across some great people here at Grady in the clinic I attend which is the ENT Clinic. Ms.Murphy the front desk receptionist is the absolute best! She is always courteous,kind and professional. I appreciate and thank her each time I visit also, Nurse Muhammad is kind and friendly as well. Thank you both for always doing your jobs with a smile.

if your love one, suffered from a stroke, PLEASE!!!! don't take them to this HELL HOSPITAL.
you probably leave with out them. The so' called'' nurses are totally
careless, the Doctors dint even touch my Dad. from the end of the
hospital bed. they spoke with no regards of feelings what so EVER!
the nurses and Trappist' would stand at the door like dears on head-lite
worried Spanish patient . I just want to warned anyone don't pick this

Grady hospital is the WORST hospital I've ever been to. The staff is very rude and they have no compassion for patients. I went two weeks ago for chest pains and they took forever to get me to a room while the nurses were giggling and joking. I told the nurse that I couldn't take the pain and she rolled her eyes at me! When I finally got back to a room, it was a room lined up with other patients behind several different curtains. She handed me a cup and told me too pee in it for a sample in the same room where I was only behind a curtain, no toilet paper and in front of my boyfriend. I left and went to Piedmont hospital where they were respectful and professional. I will never go back to Grady even if it's a last option.

This place is a joke. I was taken to trauma in an ambulance after a road bike accident. When I left, I still had asphalt in my face & hands. All they gave me was a prescription for Motrin, a crappy sling & a neck brace. I told the doc my neck really hurt. He told me I could have damage to my ligaments but he didn't do anything to test. Just sent me home with a Kmart neck brace. THEY DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME MY SHOULDER WAS FRACTURED!!

A Must Read True Story: I grew up in an orphan home in Nashville, Tn which is a 4 hour ride from Atlanta, Ga. How about years up the road God saw fit to give me a mother in the form of a Hostess Service Manager at Grady Hospital. I was a patient at the time and I was pregnant with a liver disorder. For lunch one particular day we had Spaghetti and it was so good to the point I had to call down to Hostess Services and give feedback about that delicious spaghetti. Wow! I gave feedback and landed a mother in my life. Grady Hospital is loaded with success stories of people lives being changed for the better. Lord God, Thank you for Grady Hospital as a whole. Thank you for my new life of 19 years now with a mother I love dearly that I met at Grady while giving feedback on a plate of spaghetti. Feedback is Powerful.

So far, so good. I've had surprisingly great service from Grady staff. Everything I've heard about Grady had been disproven. I do agree there is a lot of waiting, but I noticed there are a lot of people Grady is serving. I will continue to come here for as long as I need to. I am glad to know that people who need care and can't afford health insurance have a place like this that will provide they with first rate professional care and will treat them with dignity and respect.

The staff here at Grady today is very disrespectful. I been sitting here for hours, waiting on my test for my lungs and it takes only 30 for the X-ray to come back and some of the people that came in after me went back and then left. I told them that my chest is still hurting and they didn't do nothing. Talking about it's a 5 hours wait and I been here like 6 hours already. I will never come back here

MyChart is full of errors and has been down way over 24 hours. How would you feel if you had to get results or needed to "talk"/"write" your Doctor asap? I have been dropped from 2 of my meds and what your primary won"t/can"t prescribe, you"ll have to find someone else to outside the system. It's good in a pinch, but don't bet your life on it.

The staff at this hospital are five star all the way!! Doctors are extremely knowledgeable and very professional, and probably friendliest nurses around. We were pleasantly surprised with the service we received from the ER and being admitted for two days on the 10th floor. Thank you so much getting my mother stable and talk such great care of her!

To the people that works at this hospital who saw this message, I'm deeply sorry for what I said on my previous reply. The thing is, I was in a very edgy mood and did not realize how hard you all had actually worked. That reply was absolutely selfish of me. I hope we can reconcile one day. As for the money I owe you, I'll pay you as soon as I can for helping me out that day.
