Tasty food, good service, attentive staff. Best friend oysters I had ever had! The crab dip was excellent as well!

We we're seated in a area that felt as though we we're cut off and forgotten. The food had no favor or seasoning. My fish should have tasted like the seathe sea was missing. The menu said that my entree was blacken and I have yet to find the blacken. Our dressing was the green garlic ranch. We are yet to find the garlic or the ranch or flavor. Our french onion soup tasted as though it came from a can. This was to be a special meal because it was my friends birthday. Least I say we will not be going back.

A prime example of why you can’t believe a lot of reviews. This place which was originally founded by 2 Greek men in 1908 would have those 2 turning in their grave!!!

This place misses on so many marks. I almost felt like we were on a before scene of Kitchen Nightmares.

Decor matched the food. Bland, outdated, and out of touch.

People leaving 5 star reviews I can only imagine them having a palette for cafeteria food and quite honestly cafeteria food would have been better. Not to mention I wouldn’t have left sick to my stomach for the outrageous price we just paid for gut wrenching fried food and fries drowned in Alfredo sauce and call it confit!

Shame on you Owl Cafe! Shame on you!

Lunch was good, 1/2 pound cheese burger and Grouper sandwich were tasty along with accompanying salads with homemade dressings. We didn’t have reservations for Saturday lunch so we didn’t get a table in the dining room with a better view (more windows). Service was good and an elevator to 2nd floor from outside is great for anyone with limited ability.

My Favorite Place. Very Chic atmosphere. Great seafood. Great specials for lunch. Great specialty plates at night. The chefs are greatnothing tastes like others cook itmuch better. Their sauces and salad dressings arr all home made. They make their own bread😃! Large selection of wines! The oyster salad is perfect. Their pasta dishes perfect. They have raw oysters. ..you just ask not on menu. Servers are very nice and professional! WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!

Thankfully they weren't slammed last night because they lost my reservation. Let me say first the drinks were great. As was the homemade salad dressing. My Jambalaya however, was literally the worst I have ever had. No creole flavor, huge chunks of under cooked celery and globs of tomato with a watery sauce. Disgusting. My girlfriend did however have a delicious linguinie shrimp pasta that I wish I had ordered instead. Not bad overall but avoid the jambalaya at all costs.

Had a wonderful experience here. First time here. Had the bruschetta as an app and it was delicious. Got one of the specials which was the snapper with rice and artichokes and it was excellent. Everything tasted like from scratch. Family was also impressed. I would recommend and also come back. Danielle was a most excellent server as well.

Food is great, best in Apalachicola. Service can be slow, mostly due to the kitchen betting used by the Owl and the Tap Room bar. Try the crab cakes, grouper, or most any special. They always serve 13 mile oysters, best on the panhandle.

Wonderful experience, was warned it was pricey but they are not much more than other area restaurants and are a cut above in several areas. Tried the soft shell crab for the first time ever, fantastic. Also had 1/2doz oysters on the half shell, I'm hooked, huge fresh oysters set a high bar for other places. Make reservations or be there at 5:30pm if you want to be seated quicker, very busy place, friendly, attentive staff. Can't wait to go back to Apalachicola.

They have been good for a long time but recently are even better. Really well-prepared classic American and Gulf Coast cooking, but also great baking and desserts. And they also own the craft brewery across the street. Also the nicest space to eat in Apalachicola, and usually a well-trained staff.

I can appreciate the antique structure of the building & the history behind the name OWL CAFE. The food was exceptionally great! It doesn't taste like frozen, prepackaged, microwaved franchised food. This is the place I would recommend to family & friends.

Good place for the specials, I would keep an eye out for anything good that pops up.

Service was stellar, our drinks were always full and our empty plates promptly cleared. All the while we didn't feel rushed, which is very hard to accomplish with such service.

I recommend this place for the pleasant atmosphere and the great, local menu items.

Really enjoyed this meal. Everthing just worked together to have a memorable meal. We ate outside. Had a young pleasant waitress (wish I could remember her name). Food was really excellent. It wasn't over produced, just tasted great. Highly recommend.

Went to the Owl Cafe yesterday just before their 3pm lunch closing time, half-expecting to be turned away. Instead, we had a great meal with top-notch service! Crab dip, shrimp tacos, oyster po-boy were served quickly and couldn't have been improved upon. This was our second time at the Owl, and won't be the last. Highly recommended!

Table cloths or patio dining on second floor. Wonderful food at about the same price as a fried seafood place. We had triple tail with crabmeat and hollandaise, whole red fish with Thai vegs, grouper and crab. Not a dessert eater, but the lemon cake with strawberries was wonderful.

Lunch is the beat time, a lot of same dishes for lower price. Lance was our waiter and he suggested the grouper pan seared then baked, description was spot on, 3 of the 5 ordered it. The next night we had to go back and one reorder it and 3 had the best steak tenderloin dinner. It's a revisit.

Waiting over an hour for sandwiches is a little intense. We came in right at the 11am opening, and had our orders in soon after. Especially after seeing other tables served who sat after us. I'll update the review if the food comes out as well and tasty as other reviews say it is.

Update: I need to let everyone know Maya who was our waitress was very warm-hearted and kind. You can tell the kitchen was letting her down.

The manager on duty didn't seem to acknowledge the issues, which leads me to believe this is a normal setting. My fried oyster poboy had cold centers almost as if they were frozen (which can't be since they are caught in terms bay). Other plates in our group were not amazed, but because of the wait they were scarfed down anyways.

My suggestion if you have a large group, stay away. We saw smaller groups served faster, even though we were the first group sat.
