The quality of customer service at Nordstrom is amazing. This store stands behind its products and generously allows returns if needed. Some of the skin care products I had purchased did not perform as hoped . Katie not only followed up with me months later to inquire how things were going, she encouraged me to return the unused portion of the products I had stopped using for a full refund! Wow. That level of customer service will keep me shopping at this big store which feels more like a personal boutique.

The stylists and associates are friendly and genuine but they lack the Nordstrom touch that is typically found in more established Nordstrom markets. I've found the Charlotte and Durham Nordstroms are quite a few levels beneath their closest brethren in Northern Virginia and Georgia. Anyone that thinks this store, overall, is a five clearly doesn't know anything about he legendary Nordstrom service. I've even been handed a shopping bag OVER the counter at this location!!!

This location is also more limited as far as selection, for example, they do not carry La Prairie and the selection in The Rail is miniscule.

Aside from all that, parking is extremely convenient (just not on the weekends, when parking is terrible) and it's easy on/off I-40.

I just wanted to give a shout out to the Nordstrom Shoe department. I am a shoe collector and was so upset when my Jimmy Choo heel broke. I received the best customer service from their manager, IT department and retail associates. I had a very complicated transaction and they went above and beyond to make sure I walked out happy. I loved Nordstrom before but now I am a customer for life.

Nordstrom is one of the great stores in an otherwise overrated and in general not very appealing mall. Personally, I can't afford to do too much shopping there, but this store has some things you can't get anywhere else in Durham and on occasion I do run into a really great sale. The people working in men's wear and shoes really know the products they carry and they excel in customer service.

I felt so great about shopping here the other day I figured I would write a review about my most recent experience. I am transgender and have started transitioning earlier this month, however, back in August I had bought an entire fall wardrobe full of dresses and accessories that I had no desire to wear at all. The customer service here can not be beat. They let me bring them all back in, no questions asked, and let me exchange them. The sales people in the men's department were all so nice and welcoming and they made a shopping experience that could have been stressful into something fun and exciting for me. Needless to say this is where I will be doing a vast majority of my shopping from now on thanks to those guys.
