Horrible unprofessional staff. They ran out of their house soup unfortunate but understandable. Then brought the seafood platter instead of shrimp and the waitress seemed iritated when she asked if I would take that instead and I said no. Not a fan of catfish. Also got to listen to the delightful story of how tired the waitress was that she had to work three doubles that weekend. All around disappointing for a downtown 4 star restaurant. I will never eat here again.

O my goodness this place makes you think your in Louisiana on St. Charles place. The Cajun cuisine here is so authentic and so delicious. The food is so good, the best gumbo and jambalaya in the state of NC. Love the cornbread and the sweet tea is so quenching of your southern thirst. The wait staff are incredible and very nice.

I must say that they were extremely busy on this day. Extremely busy. I would like the opportunity to come back here and try to experience again. I do believe that it could have been better. While the food was great once we ate it, we had to take it with us because we were on a short time frame and we didn't get a chance to get our food in that time frame. I think once we walked into the door we noticed that things weren't quite right. I think that had to do with the fact that they were so busy. I'll give another girl around just to make sure it was just that day.

The waiter took my order of ribs and after 5 minutes she came back to tell us they didn’t have any ribs and she had been unaware. I think if a kitchen is out of something the waiter/waitress taking the order should be aware. Anyway, I ordered something else. When I received the food, the rice was cold and the chicken was over cooked on the edges making it hard to chew. Overall the meal wasn’t good, but I would recommend their fried spinach. My husband ordered the Cuban rib eye medium well with mashed potatoes. He received fries instead without being asked if that was alright. Part of the steak was cooked medium instead of the medium well. He was very unsatistified with the cut/quality especially considering it cost us $22.50.

I wish I could leave more than one star since I've heard such great things about this place but no dice. I got my food to go and the containers inside the to-go tray were not tightly sealed so in transit, you can guess what happened. Then the food was only okay. Seasoned heavily and seasoned well are not the same thing. I've had better shrimp dinners from Applebee's and the service was far less than friendly so for me, it's definitely not work the $$ :(

Fun college hangout spot on the weekends. Usually has live bands and a dance floor, lots of seating and standing room upstairs and downstairs. Very spacious area to enjoy drinks and company of friends.

We ate there tonight and the food was terrible. We ordered stuffed jumbo shrimp that were definitely not jumbo, but okay. We also ordered the salmon Lafayette and the rice and veggies were cold and the salmon was not delicious either. My in-laws ordered the taste of Louisiana and seriously one of those cups whether it was the jambalaya or the gumbo tasted terrible, borderline dogfoood. We left it. The service was not impressive either. We attempted it based off of google reviews and a desire to eat delicious Cajun food. Seriously not worth the money, don't do it!!!

Interesting table service. Our waitress didn't make my family feel like we were her priority. Delicious food despite. Nice music options at late night

Used to be good. Last night our waitress had an attitude like she didn't want to be there and seemed annoyed during every interaction. I ordered 6 appetizers for our table. They all came on big plates but the oysters, shrimp, and alligator bites on those plates were all tiny. I doubt I'll ever go back. I was born and raised in New Orleans and that was not New Orleans food or southern hospitality.

Cozy, lively and delicious. Live music and a great menu with great tasting food. Our waitress gave good add-on advice in order to get the most out of our food and experience. My wife was celebrating her birthday and although they didn't know the waitress really made sure she enjoyed her dining experience.

This place is amazing! The food is some of the best I've had and the service is great. Our waiter was awesome. Plus there was live saxophone music. The whole experience was great. I wil definitely be coming back.

The Big Easy Restaurant and Bar offer several delicious Cajun dishes including ingredients such as alligator, crawfish, and jambalaya.

They have a good bar that serves a good selection for both beer and mixed drinks.

Do not skip dessert. The bananas foster absolutely a nice treat and one of the best desserts you can get in downtown Raleigh.

The portions are big so feel free to share (including the dessert).

The only drawback for me was the wait-staff who seemed unorganized and frazzled. They were nice but forgot about some drinks we ordered or we had to wait a long while for our meal.

It's still a fun restaurant that I would recommend trying out.

One of my favorite places to go! Their wings are amazing. I do love the live music but it was a little loud. I could barely talk to the girl I was sitting next to and we were a good distance away. But the musicians were pretty good.
