I have never stayed at this hotel but the reason i am writing this review is because before my visit to New York, i tried to book this hotel to receive an email saying that my cc has declined and if i didn't provide them with a new method of payment the booking was going to be cancelled. I dint provide another method of payment. This was 3 weeks before the date i wanted to visit the hotel. Coming back and looking at my cc statement i realized that the hotel has actually taken payment from my cc on the day of my arrival. I never received any communication from the hotel re the charge of my card. I contacted the hotel and they said there was nothing they can do about it. I find it totally unacceptable that this hotel charged my card without any notice the full amount of my 7 night stay without any communication!
Upon arrival the staff, especially managers, seem preoccupied and unwilling to help with our early arrival. After that though, staff seemed to warm up. The cleaning staff, very helpful and super friendly. The room was nice, clean, and not to small. Very quiet for the location and a parking garage right next door. We'd go back for sure.
Very nice, trendy hotel. The location is good, near the Jay Street subway, so easy to get into Manhattan. The reception is modern and just laptops on a desk, which is actually kind.of welcoming in a strange hipster way. The room was comfortable, but best of all, had tons of outlets and USB charging ports. The mini fridge was missing a few key items that bummed me out. The breakfast in the morning was excellent, with some delicious yogurt and berry options. The one very odd thing is that it is across the street from a jail.
Incredibly accommodating hotel and staff! Just moving to the city with our dogs and we had to keep extending our stay while looking for an apartment and the back and fourth from the hotel and apartment searching was stressful so it was very helpful having such an accommodating and clean hotel to come back too that was comfortable for our pets. Very clean and modern with everything you need. A great bar and sitting area outside. Great management and staff. Walking distance to everything you need and really good restaurants. Highly recommend!
Really solid hotel stay. The rooms, while small, are great. Super quiet which is a huge factor for me, especially in Brooklyn. The pillows we're fairly uncomfortable in my opinion. The breakfast is fantastic and a huge benefit to have included. I loved the free cookies that were always available. Also the drink prices at the bar we're totally reasonable while waiting for friends to arrive.
Easy online booking. Good information on the site and lots of pictures, room rates reasonable for a boutique hotel. The hotel was clearly marked and easy to find. The hotel does not have it's own parking but there is a garage right next door with great rates and two more right down the street. The hotel is well situated for the subway as well, at least two metro stations within a 5 minute walk and back bus station outside. Check in was a breeze. They have bike rentals, an attractive (but a little small) lobby with a bar. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was gorgeous, king sized bed was comfortable, bathroom clean with good toiletries. Fully stocked mini bar with very reasonable prices and a good array of alcohol. Large flat-screen TV, desk, sizable closet with a safe. Room was clean and temperature was comfortable, the decor was very chic. Could not hear a thing from any of the other rooms on the floor. Free breakfast in the morning with many options for food. Check out was a breeze, complementary bag check on the way out to enjoy the rest of the day. Only regret is that we were only there for one night and did not get a chance to see the exercise center. Would definitely stay there again.
Well situated, friendly staff, arty rooms with comfy pillows :)
The hotel was quite modern and comfortable, which made my stay very different. I liked the atmosphere. They have nice sized rooms for couples, and the bathrooms are beautiful and spacious.
The downsides I had of staying here is that I wasn't told about the extra $50.00 deposit when booking the room. I even double checked the expenses online for all the final charges, and that was never stated. I was only told this after arriving. It's very dissapointing when you are expecting to pay a certain amount, and then there's more added on top of it. Kind of misleading.
The second thing is that the floor I was on, (floor 2) smelled heavily of marijuana. Being pregnant, that was pretty difficult to have to smell when coming in and out of my room.
Better than we expected! We are Native New Yorkers. Coming home is always a treat. We've stayed in other hotels.. but the NU..yes the new Go To. Great location. Fab rooms and the staff? Amazing. Happy Hour was Awesome!
We've enjoyed the stay. The location is convenient to several metro stops, and there is a variety of dining and shops nearby. The staff have been very helpful. The room is simple, but comfortable and clean.
Rooms are nice and clean, location was perfect as the wedding venue was all of a block away. Didn't make use of the services much, but I would certainly stay here again.
Enjoyed my stay. Staff were very helpful. Rooms were clean, had hardwood like floors, and had a fun chalkboard wall.
Perfectly fine hotel. Room clean, everything stocked, no complaints here. Stayed for one night - would do it again.
Trendy, with nice, and clean rooms. Got a good deal through a night of booking. Front desk staff who checked me in seemed to be forcing self to be cordial, but I guess he was trying. I prefer it when hotel staff act like they want you there personally. The interior designer also seemed to have think a shower design that floods the rest of the bathroom floor would be fun, and that the built in reading light is something you'd only want on with the rest of the lights, but every other small touch was lovely.
DOPE hotel. Great location - such a cool room (love the chalkboard wall, lack of skeevy carpet, and ultra clean experience). Nearby excellent restaurants/bars.
