Comfy beds and quiet rooms. The hotel is a bit older but was still night. Desk staff was attentive and extremely accommodating. The hotel was walking distance from all the fun in downtown San Antonio. The riverwalk boat tours and the Alamo were only a few blocks away. Parking was plentiful and secure. The kids loved feeding the peacocks in the courtyard. Would definitely stay here again!
My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary. It was our first time in S.A. and the hotel was a great aspect of our time there! This hotel was just minutes from the Riverwalk, and a few more minutes to S. Alamo (a really cool area with great restaurants, art and music scene). On a Sun morning, it was only a 15-20 min Iber ride from the airport too! The front desk gentleman on our first night was fantastic! He made great recommendations, congratulated us on our anniversary and even sent complimentary chocolate strawberries up to our room! He was a young guy from Turkey, name started with a “C”. The hotel was beautiful, they had Peacocks you could hand feed, and the service was excellent! We ordered in-room dining which came to us in a gift bag similar in a “to-go” style different from what we’ve had in the past but was really good, quick, served hot, and was a generous portion. To mister “C” from Turkey at the front desk, the rest of the staff and management, I will stay with you again on our return to S.A. — cheers!
Good location, adequate room, customer service, poor. I requested a recommendation for dinner and was given a recommendation for a permanently closed restaraunt. The concierge got ticket info from the web less efficiently than we could. He had little local knowledge. Parking was difficult.
This place is clean and has a nice mixture of modernity and history to it. I’ll be going back for more in January, but I wanted to mention the accommodating and friendly attitude of the staff and management. Unfortunately Hurricane Harvey meant a canceling of the wedding that we’d planned to attend and for which I was going to photograph. While the weekend wasn’t flooded like had been feared flights were grounded and the wedding had to be rescheduled to January, but management was very understanding about the whole situation and allowed us to make use of their venue for photographs in the wedding dress all the same and even offered us some drinks on the house.
Kindness and compassion in business is something I respect the hell out of and I look forward to coming back for the big day in a few months.
Beautiful hotel,.very attentive and courteous staff. Helped resolve a small problem right away. The patio out back is the perfect place to relax after grabbing a drink from the bar or free happy hour.
Nice location, nice hotel. Attentive staff. Food expensive with automatic gratuity/service charges. Peacocks on site add nice ambiance. Plenty of seasons area in lobby/bar area, couches and fireplace; Nice outside firepit seating area is great for groups. Beautiful pool.
Nice hotel in downtown San Antonio. Conveniently located near the river walk and the Alamo. Central to any activities you want to do in the city. The hotel is very large and has beautiful grounds, multiple conference rooms, pools, restaurants, etc. The staff is very friendly and professional and the rooms are clean and very comfortable. Highly recommended.
Absolutely beautiful! This hotel offers the elegance of an updated appeal along with the vintage inspired theme that feels as if you are walking back in time. Everything from the pool to the room was perfect! We will definitely be back.
It's beautiful! The grounds are very nice: the trees, pool, sitting area, lobby. Very very expensive though. We got a reasonable rate online and the deal said breakfast included. Once we got here we realized we'd be also having to pay $50 for parking. Our twin toddlers needed milk before bed. $3.50 for a little elementary school sized carton at the restaurant, the only place with milk. Then we realize breakfast is nit included. In fact, one plain piece of toast is $8. A bottle of water.$8. As lovely as the place is..it's not THAT lovely. I feel like I was taken advantage of and was completely duped. BEWARE of the insane "hidden" prices you will have to pay on top of your hotel stay!!!!
Slight old but clean and well appointed hotel in the heart of San Antonio. Rooms are large but some fixtures showed some age. All rooms have balconies and are a great place to wind down after a long day. Staff was friendly and helpful and made the stay that much better.
Stayed 2 nights over a weekend and it went really well. They were very accommodating of the needs of our toddler and the food was good. We had an issue with the sink but they were prompt in addressing it.
If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the cheapest rates around
Typically when you stay at a place for a single night, its just that. But this place has the charm to make an impression even if you don't spend much time there. The room was delightful, but the staff is what make things great. Friendly and helpful they assisted with directions, recommendations and just all around pleasant to speak with everyone there. Thanks for making our stay memorable! Would definitely come back again!
Got us in and booked within an hour and allowed us to check in before official check in time. The bellhop Joe is such a friendly and helpful man, so kind too. Rooms are very nice and have a balcony with a view--either city or garden. Rooms block sound very well so we can't hear any neighbors including those above us. No microwave in rooms, but there is a mini fridge and coffee maker. Pillows in room are kind of flat and soft, very squishy. The main floor has a little store where you can buy drinks including alcohol. Short walk (I believe 0.3-0.6 miles) to nearly all the attractions including the Tower of Americas and the Alamo. Overall, very nice hotel and would return.
