I generally really like staying at the Study Plaza River walk when staying in downtown SA. It is a renovated old Alamo Bank Building downtown with lots of Art Deco style, really cool old building. On this stay though I was a bit disappointed. Didn't get room I requested, common areas of hotel were extremely uncomfortable (warm), breakfast less than spectacular. Just not what I normally expect at this hotel!

The Drury hotel chains are always incredible. The free breakfast and 5:30 "Kickback" (light dinner fare) more than make up for the slightly higher price of the rooms.
The Drury Plaza is literally right on the Riverwalk, and you can step out the basement entrance onto the river!
Another benefit is the rooftop access. Located on the roof is a swimming pool and two hot tubs, all overlooking an AMAZING view of San Antonio.
The only reason this particular Drury does not get the full 5 stars was the customer service. It wasn't poor by normal standards, but having gotten used to exceptional customer service at the Drury hotels around the country, service seemed almost neglectful here.

Stayed during our honeymoon. Was there for a week .Beautiful place . Right on the river walk . We had set it up then I had to have a quadruple bypass . So we had to postpone it when I got better we called back and they 're set our room and was very professional. We loved the roof top got lots of photos . They were awesome. They were very helpful and I wandered all over the place . Always a smiling face and a hello. I liked how they took care of our car and put it up and got it for us . Hot tub was nice . Our experience with them was great . The card let me in anywhere a door was so when I started getting tired or hot I could duck into the hotel and cool off or go back and rest. When we go back I will use them again

Very pleasant stay. Been in suite with two queen beds plus additional rolling beds with 4 adults and 2 kids and we enjoyed the bedroom with no issue. Hotel is situated on the river walk and access is very easy. Lobby beautiful and some nice historical features from the Alamo Bank to see downstairs. Rooftop with swimming pool and two jacuzzi s. Overall, recommend for a short stay in San Antonio and river walk evenings.

Beautiful hotel. Hands down best hotel we have ever stayed at. Excellent service, very clean. Everyone is so nice and ask if you need anything. Free breakfast and dinner are very good. They even give you 3 alcoholic drinks. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic! My cousins and I had a weekend reunion there and it was wonderful! The building is beautiful and impeccably clean. We loved the very large rooms with all the amenities and the Happy Hour with free drinks was so much fun! On the Riverwalk and the breakfast was incredible. New fan and won't be staying anywhere else from now on! Thank you!

The hotel is a restored historic property with some of the quirks that go along with that. Beautiful lobby, but my room was small (though well-appointed). My staff member got a huge room. Lots of variety on that score. Specific to the hotel is their abundant breakfast and "kick back," a misnamed dinner with free drinks (beer, wine, well drinks) on the house. Food is carb-heavy and about the quality you'd expect. The staff here is wonderful, helpful and courteous. Best thing is that the hotel is on San Antonio's Riverwalk. You're in the middle of it all. Prices are reasonable.

We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel! After walking in and seeing the lobby, we knew it was going to be great! Loved the "historic" feeling of being in an old bank building! The staff when checking In were amazing! Anja at the front was super helpful and had great suggestions for us. She even gave my mom chocolates and wine because it was her birthday weekend! The breakfast, 530 kickback and popcorn bar with soda was super great and delicious! Rooms here were comfortable and spacious! We spent a few nights in the pools ( both indoor and outdoor) and both were fun and super clean! Couldn't be more happier with our stay at this hotel! Highly recommend!

The staff here is excellent! Thank you Sarah and Gabby at the front desk! Leo in the valet area is very kind and considerate. We are here from North Padre Island waiting out Hurricane Harvey. Sarah was so patient with me and Gabby extended our stay with no problem at all. Breakfast and dinner are included! Rooms are comfortable and clean. The location is great. This building is historic and the Drury has maintained the history of this structure. Not a bad place to wait out Harvey.

I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area. It's the perfect location on the Riverwalk and there is direct access to the Riverwalk from the hotel. I fell in love with the history. It was built as a bank in the 1920s. Just walking in you feel like you walked back in time. The decor is beautiful. You can see pictures and items from the past. The room was very comfortable. There was plenty of space so you didn't feel crammed in. We were by the elevator but it was still so quiet.

We enjoyed the overall ambience of the Drury Plaza. Check-in was easy and fast. The staff was awesome and the suites are a decent size. We also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and the 5:30 kickback. You can beat free food AND free drinks. I will definitely stay here any time I'm in San Antonio!

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the cheapest rates around

Great choice of a hotel. Fantastic location near Riverwalk and within a reasonable walking distance to the convention center. Filling breakfast and 5:30 pm wind down (truly, enough for dinner). Comfortable, beautiful lobby with plenty of seating. Very friendly and professional staff all around! Would stay again and recommend to others.

Me and my wife stayed here for our anniversary. The the feel and the look of the hotel is fantastic. It reminds me of something out of the Great Gatsby. The service was great, the rooms were good. The breakfast buffet and the free happy hour was awesome. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Cool building. Great location. Room is just fine. There was some mix up in our reservations and they have us checking out a day earlier than we had requested. When discovered at check-in we were told they didn't have a room for us on the last night of our stay. The free drinks in the evening are a plus and the breakfast was par for the course. I'd stay here again, I just will double and triple check my reservation beforehand.
