The location is walking distance to El Mercado and Mi Tierra. It's where my extended family always chooses to stay when we meet in San Antonio. The bed is one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Perfect night's sleep, perfect location. I will definitely stay here again.
Great stay. Would have been awesome to include complimentary breakfast. Bit other than that there was no problems. Everyone was very courteous.
I was in San Antonio for business and selected this hotel as super buy on Priceline. I was happy with my selection. Clean and large room. Was able to check in early. Close to the tourist attractions (The Alamo and River walk). The hotel also offers a convenient shuttle to the same attractions. Did not try the on-site restaurant but the menu did look good. If I ever return to San Antonio will try to stay here again.
This hotel was great for the price and only a short Uber ride to the riverwalk & downtown area. The room was very comfortable and clean and the staff was friendly and great. We did have drinks at the restaurant one night. The drinks were okay but not really worth the high price. We would definitely stay here again just because of the great price and convenience to the downtown area.
Great place friendly people. S.A. is awesome. Hotel is close enough to the River Walk but far enough not to get traffic from River walk. 5 min drive 20 min walk loved it. Thanks
I was a guest for two nights this past weekend. The lobby staff was pleasant and helpful. The beds were comfortable. The housekeeping staff was extraordinary. They were incredibly efficient, polite, and friendly. My only complaint at all was the noise of the air conditioning units. They were incredibly loud.
The first room we got had mold and a musty odor. I asked for a new room and got one with no problem. This one had a smell but not as bad. But the bathroom sink wouldn't drain. Someone came the next day to fix that. Also, beware of what room you purchase. You may have to pay for your breakfast. 11.99 for the buffet or you can order from the menu. Stains on the carpet. I wouldn't be so hard on them but I have a young child and couldn't have her staying in such conditions. Plus side is you get all the HBO channels and some HD. But that's it. Was not impressed. I paid $80 per night so I guess that's what I get for trying to be cheap.
The reason this is two stars instead of zero, is because there is a kid pool. However, all three times we used it, we had to skim out the dead insects, hair and leaves--every time.
Upon checking in around 4 pm, I reminded them of the reservation where I asked for a crib, they said they would send it right away. At 7:30 pm, called to remind them from the hotel phone, but they wouldn't answer. Finally, I called from my cell phone and they answered--"we'll send it right away." At 9:00 pm, I stayed at the front desk for HALF AN HOUR until it was delivered.
Another day, we left at 9:30 am and returned at 3:00 pm. During that time, our room was not cleaned. I asked te front desk for a new entire set of towels (two kids to bathe), they brought 2 towels. I sent the worker back for more. He returned saying, "I'm sorry. They told to just take two towels." (The desk or worker was wrong.nobody owned up).
The various times I was at or near the front desk, I noticed MULTIPLE people with problems with their room cards on ever occasion.
Multiple mornings, I woke to my wife killing roaches on the floor of our room. I had to clean bugs out of our bathtub every day.
Pool was really gross--lots of hair, bugs, leaves, etc
I have read some negative reviews and the "manager" simply says, "We appreciate your feedback." Doesn't seem like they do anything about it.
There is a serious problem within the chain of command and the training of workers. These problems I have discussed are simple and easy to fix with training and taking responsibility for personal work. Sounds like various levels are not keeping each other in check.
I'd NEVER recommend anyone stay here unless it was free.
I know that this isn't a five star hotel but I'm so disappointed and dissatisfied with my stay here. The room (293) I stayed in had dried blood on the floorI wouldn't be surprised if someone died there. The bathroom door was super hard to close, I had to put all my weight into it just to get some privacy. The room felt humid and hot because the air condition does a weird thing where it cools for 5 min and then turns off on repeat this is probably because they want to save energy. The beds were very hard and the tv remote didn't work. The front desk employees are extremely rude and one of them even told me to call back in 20 min because he was helping a guest in person when I called from my room. The cherry on top of this hotel from hell was the fact that my room keys stopped working twice for no reason.I had to walk through 3 smelly hallways and back just to get them replaced. If your visiting the downtown San Antonio area I'd steer clear of this place!
During our cross country roadtrip, a friend and I stayed at the Holiday Inn for one night. It was a very clean and friendly hotel. After getting into the city late we decided to head to the River walk area for the night. Although the free shuttle ends at 9 pm the driver still took us with 4 mins until 9 which we were appreciative of. I would stay here again.
Had a couple issues since our arrival that the hotel could not have avoided. The management here is top notch and did a great job taking care of them. Rooms are clean and bug free, building is secure and safe. Pool and area is well maintained. We originally left this hotel to go to another closer to the air force base for graduation and quickly returned, it's only 10-15 minutes from the base and your airmen is going to want to go to the river walk anyways. Free parking and free shuttle to several areas, you even get the number to call the shuttle driver to pick you up when your done exploring. Bottom line is if your flying in looking for a decent hotel for air force graduation or even just a getaway vacation you've found it right here.
Staff was very nice. Rooms are a good size and are well decorated. Hotel feels dated, the a/c is always on. Room had a musky smell and was very humid. Good for a one night stay..would look else where if staying longer.
The hotel itself is okay. Seems a bit run down in the halls and exterior. The employees are very nice and professional. The room itself is clean and served its purpose. The restaurant food is decent. Overall, if you need a hotel for a night or two this works
After a quick and courteous check in - I was pleasantly surprised when I checked in and my room was already blissfully cool! I hate to check in to a room where the A/C has been turned up so far that the room is humid and warm. The room was great. The only complaint I had was that there was a slightly medicinal smell (almost like mouthwash) to the room at first, like the cleaning solution was still lingering. But that soon became unnoticeable. The lobby area is open and comfortable. Be sure to visit the restaurant and ask Rae for a drink recommendation. The pool area is being redone - but it appears that there is an outdoor pool and hot tub in the interior courtyard. This hotel is in easy walking distance of Market Square, and Bill Miller BBQ. I was there for training and the room was well set up, the temperature was good, and they coordinated beverages and snacks with our breaks well.
