Disappointed. Was sent there by my primary physician. Asked if the arm would heal better without the soft cast and sling and was told yes but I should get the cast and sling. My daughter never needed it. Total bill for a jammed arm 727.00. Trying to figure out the bill but it looks like the sling, maybe worth 30.00 is 80 and the soft cast might have been 291. Not happy at all. Will post more if I figure it out. Should have known. Came in early for first appointment, lots of paperwork. I turn it in and about 40 minutes after my appointment time I am asked to go to the desk to correct something. Oh, never saw a physician, saw a PA-C
6-20-2017 Just got off the phone with their billing. 291 was for a fellow to cut some material and tell my daughter to hold her arm in place while the material hardened. 80 is for what is essentially a bandage that hardens and an ace bandage to wrap around the hardened form material and her arm. I felt like I was being suckered and still do but with my daughter there and in the middle of us talking it was hard to say no.
I find out now there is also a separate charge of 110.00 going through my insurance for a sling. I think I can get the sling for about 30.00. 08/25/2017 - Yup insurance knocked off some and I had to 66. If I could remove another star I would. Can't tell you how disappointed I am with this place. I am officially a sucker. My daughter wore the cast and sling less than 2 days.
Took me 3 tries to get to the billing department. The lady there I spoke to was nice and responsive.
In summary, 40 minutes after my appointment and after watching people arrive later than me and go in I am called up for paperwork, I am told the arm will heal better without the soft cast but I should get it in case someone trips or bangs into her (total claims submitted 481 for sling and soft cast - any thoughts on why it was needed?, 356 more for visit, no doctor seen), I am not seeing a physician and the markups are ridiculous. The best part of the experience was speaking to the person in billing.
This place only seems to be about the money so I am removing a star. I will never be back.response / report this review -

I had an appointment with Dr Santiago regarding a painful growth on my hand. I arrived on time, waited 45 minutes past my appointment to be seen then an x ray was taken. My husband and.i were put in a room. Within 5 minutes this doctor rushed into the room asked a couple questions ignored the questions my husband tried to ask ( literally this man acted like he was a God or something) completely disrespectful. He was in my room less than 5 minutes looked at his watch 4 times then said he needed to operate and someone would be in touch within 3 weeks. He then left the room
NO WAY IN HELL A DOCTOR WHO CANT ANSWER OUR QUESTIONS AND WANTED TO HERD MY THROUGH HIS OFFICE LIKE CATTLE US CUTTING ON ME!!!!!! How many times will he check his damn watch while cutting open my hand.
I will find another doctor and if you get scheduled with Doctor Santiago I suggest you find another doctor too unless you don't mind being treated a huge inconvience to his precious time

I was referred here by my primary care provider but I would never come back. I took off work to make an appointment at the hwy 52 office and after sitting 45minutes in the waiting room I was told the doctor couldn't make it. They rescheduled me that afternoon at the office on tricom and I filled out the same paperwork again and waited another hour to be seen. After all of this Dr. Owings spent five minutes looking at my x-ray and said my broken clavicle would be fine and just to take it easy the next couple weeks (NEVER LOOKED AT ME OR TOUCHED MY CLAVICLE). I was charged over $1,000 for treatment of a broken clavicle! my insurance got that cost down to $442. My primary care provider gave me all the treatment but cost me 4 times less.

The Dr(s) Merrell, Justin, Dr. J and all of the staff at Low Country Orthopaedic are compassionate , patient and professional. I won't go anywhere else for my orthopaedic needs.

Good staff. They worked with me every step of the way both with the rehabilitation of my hand and the rehabilitation to my wallet on cost. My therapist Anne was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions.
