Unfortunately the end result of our visit was the worst possible one and the one that every pet parent dreads. It was a horrible time, but everyone there was extremely sympathetic and seemed like they cared so much. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart for their compassion and making this terrible experience as easy as it could possibly be

When we found a sick kitty we brought it here, she had a horrible URI and only weighed about a pound. We got a check up for her, a shot, meds, and EVEN kitty milk/food recipe from the Dr. There! We have been back several times for check ups and to have our newest kitty friend checked out as well. They are always so nice. Miss Tina is awesome and George is pretty great. The staff as a whole is very pleasant to be around.

Everyone here is awesome. The doctors are informative and happy to answer a hundred questions. Also, no one here will try to get you to pay for extra or needless medications or procedures.

My only issue was that the consultation rooms were paper thin, so you could hear everything that was going on inside the rooms.

So, I heard the following event happen:

Lady brings in stray animal. Doesn't know what to do with it. Can't go indoors because it fights with her other pets. Vet advises to take the animal to the humane society "so that the responsibility doesn't fall on you." Her daughter soon comes out crying. Time passes, she comes out with no pet. Front desk says she's sorry about what happened, etc. Lady responds "it feels like it was a good deed, but it doesn't."

So if the vet clinic can clear up this situation where they treated an animal like a lamp that can be easily dumped off and executed, that'd be great.

Also, their medicines are expensive. I've gotten the same medication they gave me for $20-30.

These guys are great! I have been taking all my pets to them for years! I have a very difficult large dog and they are so patient with him. The pricing is on par with other vets but they are open on Saturday mornings!

This clinic is a blessing. I was having the worst experience with an animal I have ever had (the approximately three-year-old lab mix I found in Ryan Place had horrible complications with a neuter from a DIFFERENT low-cost clinic NOT Southside). Basically, the dog's scrotum fell off and was hanging by infected yellow strings of tissue, and I could not get an appointment anywhere. I finally found Southside Vet Clinic and took him there in an Ace bandage wrapped up like underwear. They do not require an appointment, so I was quite relieved to get in on short notice (Monday morning at 8:00). I was so stressed out and hurting for the poor dog that I was desperate for some help, and it came in the form of Tina (sp) who worked the front desk that day. She got me in almost immediately and calmed me down while I waited. Once in, the wonderful techs/assistants helped me control him after removing his bandages. He was in so much pain; he was getting violent. They finally sedated him and got him checked in. After only a few days there, he came home in much better spirits and condition. Kristina (sp) called me several times during his stay to keep me updated and assuage my concerns. I am so grateful to everyone there who helped me through that horrible morning and got Jo-Jo back to the sweet, energetic dog I met initially. :)
