This is a fairly busy facility. The reason for that is, they employ great people. I've used this place for ten years.

Very knowledgeable vets and friendly staff. No appointment required (except for procedures/surgery) and I've never waited over 30 minutes to be seen.

We've always used Alvarado Vet and each and every time, they are attentive, compassionate and knowledgable. Their prices are super reasonable and call backs are usually always pretty quick.

They are fair on fees, kind to my fur kids, very knowledgeable. They work hard and it's a no frills operation. My fur kids are part of our family. I wouldn't trust them with just ANYONE we LOVE all of the staff!
    Thank You!

They are not money grubbing. They took very good care of my dog after a violent pack of dogs attacked him. Bath, nail clippings, shaved, stitches, tubes, antibiotics, anti inflammatory, pain killers and a cone for $400 . The tube and stitch removal is free.

Love all the vets and the staff here. You can tell they really care about animals. Really like thy at they are a walk-in clinic and don't do appointments so I can take my pets in any time.

I've been taking my animals here for about 15 years and my parents did before me. They're always busy, but for a good reason. They help and they care. The vets talk to you about care plans and what works best for your individual case. I've been to other places that just get you in and out without taking the time to explain anything. This is the best place in Johnson county and surrounding counties.

Reasonable priced, comes close to specialized vets as far as knowledge - only had one not so great experiences out of like 20 visits. Boarding is good and very reasonable. Someone tried to trick the staff into giving them my dog that was being boarded and the staff had enough common sense to call me first, I will be forever thankful.

Very patient with all of the clientele, & very straight to the point. Had to put one of fur babies down yesterday, very consoling with my daughter & myself, they did the process without having our fur baby taken out of the room, allowed us to hold, & love on her the entire time, as well as privacy to say our goodbyes. Allowed us to pay the bill from the exam room, & allowed us to leave through the back, as we were upset & crying, so we didn't have to walk through the lobby area, full of other pets, & people. All my other animals are also clients with this clinic, my #1 recommendation for anyone who needs anything regarding their pets!!!

TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!! PARALYZED MY DOG!!!!!! I took my dog in because she was acting like she was in pain and I could not figure out what was wrong with her but one thing is for sure, she was walking fine when I took her in. They did X-rays on her and then I found out after the X-rays, she could no longer walk. When I went to see her in a cage they had her in, there was a sign that said "AGGRESSIVE, WILL BITE". What?!!! My dog is the sweetest, friendliest dog to everyone and never met a stranger! I asked why that sign was on there and they said she tried to bite when they were holding her down for Xrays! I believe that she had something wrong with a slipped disc or something and when they stretched her out against her will because she was in pain, they ruptured the disc in her back or something. She was paralyzed now and they told us we should euthanize her. I took her someplace else to get a second opinion and thankfully, after getting her a doggie wheelchair, she has lived a happy life, even though she is paralyzed in her two rear legs. If we had listened to this incompetent, uncaring vet, she would no longer be with usin fact, if we had not taken her there to begin with, she would probably still be walking to this day!

I would highly recommend Dr. Tyler Martin. I live in North Plano but still choose to take my animals all the way to Alvarado to see him. Recently, my cat got really sick. She was in the hospital for almost a week and ultimately I had to have her put down. Dr. Martin communicated with me every day on her condition and explained what was going on in a way that I could understand. I could tell that she had nothing but the best care while she was there. When it came time to make a very difficult decision he gave me guidance while ultimately allowing me to choose what I thought was best. I know that I did right by my cat by having Dr. Martin treat her. Sadly, this was something that she just couldn't come back from.
