Great staff! However
The room was not great. It had horrendous noise insulation, as if the walls weren't there. I could hear leaves blowing by all night, and luckily only the occasional passing guest. The patio doors were knocking around quite loudly. The beds were too firm. The bathroom seemed hobbled together. It had paint peeling in places, and some of the plumbing was loose. This was a stark contrast to the gorgeous marble counter tops, nice silverware etc.
This was our second stay, and I had no complaints about the room on the first stay. It had a large, comfortable bed, no memorable noise, and a beautiful bathroom with a bathtub.
We paid about the same for both stays, and were with the same large group, so there's no excuse for the difference in quality. Others in the group we're equally dissatisfied.
The staff was outgoing and eager to please, and the catering for the group was nearly flawless. It's a real shame about the room.response / report this review -

From the outside the hotel looks like a two-story office complex. The room decor is outdated but decent. We had a two room suite and the 2nd room is a loft which is accessed via a narrow spiral staircase. The pillows in the loft beds were thin and the mattresses were hard. They wanted to charge the each of us, (party of 4, who were all included in the reservation), a $24 resort fee AND a $50 fee for possible "incidentals". After the front desk spoke with the manager in the end they didn't charge any extra fees. It was not clear what the incidentals fee was for because the carpet in the room was stained and one of the shutter panels for the upstairs loft window was missing. The restaurant was the best part of our stay. The dinners were delicious and fairly priced. Overall, we will not be going back to this property and not recommending it to friends.

This was our first time staying at the Lodge. It was a very pleasant stay. The staff were amazing from the start and throughout the visit. I would recommend the Lodge to anyone. Our room was incredibly spacious, with a nice small kitchen with, microwave range and small oven. And a small refrigerator. The claw foot bath is amazing and the shower huge! Overall an A+ for The Lodge.

I've stayed in this hotel multiple times. Some have been better than others. Hopefully, I can help you maximize your experience.
First, call ahead and find out if there are any conventions or parties being held at the hotel. If so, make sure you beat the crowds, parking can be inconvenient.
If available, try and book a two bedroom. Each time I booked this option access to the room was through the air conditioned lobby and had a patio with a beautiful view of the golf course. It also had faster access to the other accommodations.
The restaurant is often booked for corporate events, so don't count on a peaceful dinner there. However, I would recommend giving the lunch service a try, they have nice cocktails and a beautiful view.
The rooms are large and spacious, the kitchenette is nice but doesn't have everything needed to make use of it.
The bathroom is gigantic and takes up 1/4 of the total floor plan. However, it is everything you could ever want for relaxation. It has an oversized mission tub and two rainfall shower heads.response / report this review -

Overall a nice hotel. At the pool there is a large family pool with basketball hoop and volleyball net. There is also a laned lap pool and a small 1.5 ft deep kiddie pool. Also, a Jacuzzi for the colder months. They served frozen grapes and cold towels at the pool as well. The rooms are nice and comfortable.

Rooms are a bit dark, and for some reason the air-conditioning air handler is just above one of the beds. So you have to turn it off or have earplugs to get any sleep. People are friendly, except everytime we stay here (many years now), the morning pool bartender doesn't show up. Also, they put out and take away the extracurricular pool stuff (like the bounce house this weekend) at the hottest part of the day. My kiddo missed it, as they didn't set it up until close to 10:30, and took it down before we got back from our early dinner. Rooms are ok, but starting to show their age, chipped paint, creaky furnature, etc. Pool is zero depth, so that and the fountains (when the pool employees actually show up to turn them on) are what keep us coming back.

The front gate is controlled by a guard. Upon walking up to the doors, there is someone there to open the doors. Guest check in are very friendly and professional. Felt at home. The king guest suite is very nice and huge. We didn't except a kitchenette, but, there it is. It has a microwave, small fridge, oven with stove top, dishwasher, pots and pans, plates and silverware. Also available is a kuereg machine.

Attended a wedding here. The staff were very professional and attentive. The food was all delicious! The rooms were all quiet large and comfortable.
