My family went to dinner and saw our friends here. It is a creepy hotel. There are long, empty, quiet hallways, and when you walk into the public restrooms, eerie electronic music is playing. And the restaurant's theme is black goth, which creeped me out. But if you ask for a fish, they deliver one in a tank to you. That's cool.
The hotel was highly recommended to us for our weekend away. The hotel Placed us near the ballroom. Needless to say a Christmas Party was going on, the guest made noise until 1:00A.m in the morning. The caterers walked up and down the hallway until 1-1:30a.m.
We were very hesitant to use the valet service but was assured by the Valet Company that the place was very secure. During the evening hours of our first night , one of the valet attendants stole my wallet out of our car. I totally had forgotten it was in the car. The person rummaged through my vehicle, dumping over a bag that was sitting in my car. Our glove box was opened and strewn about.
The police came, the person was still working this evening when we drive past to make sure.
This was my first time in DC in years so we chose the Kimpton Monaco due to it's location. The hotel was perfectly located, within easy walking distance of most of the museum's and right next to the spy museum. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff friendly. The only drawback to the experience was parking, which I felt was in the expensive side since it was valet parking when I had no need to access my car once it was parked until we were ready to to leave. Still, an excellent hotel for a great weekend in DC.
Beautiful classic prewar building with excellent staff and luxury appointments. The interior courtyard of the building is open to the public and is one of the most DC outdoor bars you are going to find. Surplus of seating with table and bar service. Tasty cocktails and reasonable prices. Great for a first date, solo people watching, or meeting a group of friends/ colleagues for happy hour.
Hotel is beautiful! Great location!! Front desk personnel that I interacted with, were not the most accommodating and after working at a hotel in the same position, I do understand that you can not accommodate EVERY need. BUT, you CAN present this information in a manner that is empathetic and apologetic. Not a brusque-tone and with a not-my-problem attitude. Housekeepers were Wonderful and very helpful! Bar scene was one of the best I've seen for a hotel, in a while. The bartender was very pleasant, knowledgeable in spirits and made me a Fantastic drink!! If you get past the 2 front desk personnel that were most likely having a bad day, the hotel is excellent!
Amazing hotel. Has the museum feel from the exterior and the interior design is very nice. Offered free wine from 6 to 7 and staff was very friendly. Literally in the center of DC I don't think as far as location it can't get any better. A++
I attended a friend's wedding at the Hotel Monaco. The cocktail hour room was pretty plain, but fine. Theremony/reception area was very nice, almost regal feeling like the Titanic. The waitstaff was attentive and quick. The restrooms were nice and clean.
Spacious room with modern appliances, very comfortable shower pressure and dimmable lighting for the most part. The bed was comfortable and big with a pretty cool ornament on the wall behind it as pictured! As their other hotels we've stayed at they are indeed dog FRIENDLY, as in they not just tolerate them but treat them like a guest as well. Loved it here, and we will keep staying at their locations whenever we can! :D
This really could be a great place for a long term stay. Its not the kind of place that need google reviews to attract guests. Its a huge property with plenty of interesting property with plenty of interesting history that exceeds costumers expectations. The rooms are kept really clean , food offered in the restaurant is really good and everyone is just so nice. Staff is really attentive and the rooms are also really big and spacious to really enjoy your stay.
Went here for a professional event in one of their event spaces. The hotel is in a great location, very close to metro, and in the middle of downtown DC. The event space was very nice, great decor and we'll setup for a networking event / presentation. The small bites were also tasty and staff were very professional. Great event space for small gatherings!
Great location in Chinatown, right across from the Verizon Center. The hotel itself is in a renovated building which has some terrific old bones and great spaces to relax. However,
Retro artsy vibe went out of there way to make it unique. Prices are also reasonable for DC and have a decent happy hour.
I stayed here for a business trip but decided to fly my wife to DC for the weekend and extended my stay. She was head over heels for the decor. It is phenomenal. The staff is top notch and extremely friendly with the possible exception of the valets. My room was as comfortable as can be expected albeit a bit small, especially considering the price. If you get a courtyard facing room, make sure you get it on the upper floors if you require privacy. This is not the best hotel I've ever stayed in (The Address Dubai) but I would definitely recommend Kimpton Hotel Monaco DC. to all my friends traveling to DC.
Can't speak for the hotel rooms experience, but the happy hour and restaurant is amazing. Beautiful chic setting. The food is delicious, the drinks are blah, and bland. You would think with the name and layout that the drink menus would have a little more flavor. However, worth the visit overall. Really loved the setting. Very pricey for happy hour, but pretty yummy.
