As a traveler that frequents IHG properties, i was excited to spend some hard earned points on an engagement weekend at a prestigious Intercontinental hotel, but we soon realized that though it was a pleasant experience, we are most definitely not the target population of the brand.

It seemed that to enjoy your hotel experience, you had to be willing to pay. Understandably, we used points to stay the weekend, and would normally not be the type to spend money on an expensive hotel, so there is some bias in my review. Yet I had the impression that the hotels model is to specifically target guests that are not the type to fret over small costs here or there.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the amenities are definitely nice, but everything felt like it had a hidden cost. Parking was very expensive, but that is understandable as parking comes at a premium in this area of Miami, but the costs did not end there. Anything from a water bottle to printing a ticket to the museums came at a premium. Frankly, i was shocked. If a Holiday Inn Express can give me free bottles of water and printing services, i was surprised that Intercontinental can't. I was almost afraid to open doors out of fear of a "door-opening charge".

The gym and pool area, as well as the garden terrace are all incredible, but the whole time i was there i didn't feel like an appreciated guest. Instead i felt like everything around me was a facade to make more money. All the while, there were still bugs in the room bathroom, and tears in the tub lining, as if the facade was really just surface deep.

Overall, we enjoyed the location and the amenities, but definitely felt like we couldn't enjoy the hotel we were sleeping in. Every hotel Indigo i have been to far exceeds the experience i have had here, at a much lower price. I will not be averse to giving another Inter Continental property a try, (which we will in New York and Europe), but mostly to see if this is the trend, or just an isolated case.

Excellent hotel. Very clean. Friendly, helpful staff available at all hours. Beautiful location, with good views and plenty of restaurants plus a lovely park in walking distance. Surprisingly reasonable rates. Very happy with the experience.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can see them at HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around

I have stayed at this hotel several times for business. The rooms are always clean. The water is hot, the water pressure is good. Avoid the snack area and mini fridge, most of the treats are on sensors. Occasionally I will get charged for something I did not consume, so check your bill. They have always corrected it upon emailing. The gym is okay; pretty small for a hotel this size. I have never used the pool. The AC works but not quickly, the remote controlled shades work most of the time but I have had trouble occasionally getting them to go up or down. The tile work in the bathrooms is not great. Don't expect perks but if you need a downtown hotel this one is fine.

The public restrooms in the park were closed for maintenance. We ventured in to the Intercontinental to test their facilities. The staff was super nice. The lobby was lovingly decorated in the finest Christmas decor. And the bathrooms were fabulous.

I went to the Intercontinental for dinner. The valet was quick once we arrived. The lobby was beautiful and gave me a good impression of what I was going to experience. Dinner was very good. Food and service were excellent. Will recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Top of the line hotel. Great rooms and views on higher levels are awesome. Friendly staff however the food is pricey at the restaurants there. Elegant loddy and minutes away from shopping and exotic foods. I will stay here again!

The hotel is located close to Bay Front Park and the Downtown area. Nice accommodations and a very beautiful hotel. The hotel features a complimentary 'My Spa'. It would however be nice if the pool and spa were open a little later than 8:00 pm. So that these features could be enjoyed at the end of the day.

This was a wonderful comfortable place to stay. It is neat and clean and the staff was excellent. There are places to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner within the hotel and walking distance nearby. There is a pool, gym, spa, steam and sauna available for most of the day. You can take a stroll along the waterfront or walk a short distance to the free transportation system that will take you to just about anywhere in the downtown area. The staff does a great job of keeping the cars and people moving along to their destination whether coming or going.

Good view (We were on the 29th floors). Reasonable prices including free breakfast and Club lounge. The view of our hotel room is a little covered by an apartment. Very beautiful hotel with great services. Everyone was nice and friendly. The only problem was the road engineering. There's only one way to get to the hotel, so if you missed the turn then you have to go back onto the highway in order to get back to the hotel. The pool was nice but there's a restaurant/bar that block the view of the ocean. Overall, it is a very nice hotel to stay at. PC: Jorge R.

Hotel location, service, and cleanliness are five stars. Rafael, at car services, did an exceptional job entertaining our three kids. The ONLY issue is the room refrigerator is locked. You have to pay a daily fee to open it. For a family of five staying in two rooms paying a healthy fee this is outrageous.

Stayed here one night in a room with a King size bed and a view of the bay. The view was spectacular! It was very relaxing to watch the ocean and see boats go by. Chose this location because of its proximity to the Bayfront Park Amphitheatre. It was just a short walk to the amphitheatre and lots of good restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's worth noting that parking is valet only. I don't consider this a negative, but the cost should be kept in mind. The room was clean and everything about the room seemed new and modern. It's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. If I stay near the amphitheater again, it'll definitely be at this hotel.

The hotel was right in the middle of the best part of Miami. The room had a terrific view. The space was clean. The staff was very nice and helpful, especially the valet. Definitely worth the stay.

We spent the night on recommendation of a friend. It was a great recommendation. The bed was comfortable. The staff all friendly and accommodating. The view of the city was wonderful and we could even see the water at an angle. Will definitely stay here again.
