It was my first time staying at Hotel Pacific so I had high expectations for this hotel. The rooms were nice and spacious, as the hotel had described on their website. The grounds were nice as well. The location was great too. It's one of the reasons why I stayed here. It was nice to be able to walk to places like the Fisherman's Wharf or Cannery Row. The hotel is located near a trolley line as well, which I used on the way back from Cannery Row. The coastal trail was very nice and it's only a short walk from the hotel. Now that I mentioned all the things I liked about the hotel, lets move on to what I disliked.
The breakfast was disappointing.I'm lactose intolerant so I couldn't anything that required milk. What kind of luxury hotel doesn't serve almond or soy milk? At the time, I was vegan so I couldn't really eat much here. I resorted to eating a lot of fruit, although some of the sliced fruits were bland. I would have breakfast somewhere else if you plan on staying here if you're vegetarian/vegan. The only thing I liked about the breakfast was the breakfast room itself.
I had stayed in the luxury junior suite, which was located on the second to last floor. As I mentioned earlier, the rooms were very nice and spacious. It was nice having a safe in the room, as well as a refrigerator. The balcony our room had was okay. I wasn't a fan of the view. The website claims that the luxury suites don't face the street, which is only somewhat true. They were referring to the main road, but didn't mention that some luxury suites face a cul-de-sac behind the hotel. I was delighted to be woken up by a loud garbage truck behind the hotel at 7:50 AM on a Saturday. If you're looking for a quiet hotel, this may not be the place. On top of the annoying garbage truck, we could hear every step our neighbors took. Even though our room wasn't facing the main road, we would hear cars zooming down the road. Some of the drivers in this town are jerks. If you want a quiet hotel, look elsewhere.
Overall, I enjoyed the hotel but there are problems that need to be addressed. The location was great, the rooms were nice, and the employees were kind. Unfortunately, the breakfast wasn't great for me. They need to accommodate those who are lactose intolerant. Most places have dairy-free milk these days. The noise I experienced was a big issue as well. I understand the hotel can't do anything about annoying cars driving down the road, but they may be able to do something about the noise within the hotel.
This hotel was nice, very spacious rooms but the cleanliness wasn't great. The bathroom was in need of a good sweeping and the shower drain was clogged. For the price of the rooms, I wouldn't recommend staying here. The hotel was nicely situated and we found a great restaurant within a 3 min walk to the hotel.
Great location very close to Fisherman's Wharf, rooms are spacious and well furnished. We stayed with our dog and he enjoyed the private patio. Staff is very friendly, and the fireplace in the room is perfect for when the weather turns a bit cool.
Great location, very close to main pier and fisherman's wharf. Staff was welcoming and pleasant. Only charged one night for my vehicle pass even though I was there for at least two nights!
Very nice and well located hotel, a short walk from Fisherman's Wharf or the restaurants around Calle Principal. The place is designed in Spanish colonial style and has a certain amount of charm. A major asset is the underground parking just under the hotel. The lack of air conditioning did not bother us, as we visited in October. You can hear the calls of the sea lions from the Wharf at night in your room; it was not a nuisance for me but you might take note if you're a super sensitive sleeper. Otherwise the street outside is very quiet. The hotel has some meeting rooms available if you need. The breakfast is basic (cereals, bagels etc) - nothing to write home about and I'd personally recommend trying some of the places nearby. Front desk staff were very nice.
Incredibly close to fisherman's wharf (5 min. walk) and about a 20 min. walk to Cannery Row. Beautiful and spacious rooms. Big on comfort but also aesthetically pleasing. We will very likely stay here again.
Adorable hotel and grounds with plenty of outdoor seating. Big rooms, comfy beds. Walking distance to pier and ocean walk. They do ask $20 to park in their lot even as a hotel guest and don't bother with the breakfast - it sucks. The price, comfort and aesthetics make up for the negatives. Would stay here again.
Great location, but the floor was really dirty.
Provided breakfast was great.
No air conditioning (only celling fans and a limited number of portable fans).
The room we were in had no screens. Hard to cool off without letting the bugs in.
The staff will enter your room while you are out if they deem it necessary, even if you have the do not disturb sign posted.
Great price for the rooms. Room that we stayed in was clean and updated. Make sure to get a room away from the road. Oversized vehicles are hard to park. Good location near fishermans wharf.
First vacation in 10 years, and I wasn't disappointed. The room was nice and spacious, shower was big(could possibly fit 3 people at once, comfortably), water heated up quickly, friendly and courteous staff. The only complaint that I have is the hot tubs don't get hot at all, they're more room temperature.
Beautiful Hotel!! Very accommodating, rooms clean and spacious. Everything you need for your stay from comfortable beds, coffee in room, beautiful view, balcony, nice big T.V. late check out. Only complaint is the check in time, 4:00. Would be nice to have been able to check in room earlier. Very nice experience!
We stayed here last weekend for the first time. I loved everything about it. The rooms are suites and very spacious. Big bathroom, nice patio and kitchenette. It was great getting upgraded to a higher floor! We parked and then just walked everywhere!! Very friendly staff.
We stayed overnight Saturday - Sunday, staff was friendly and personable, the rooms were very clean, vaulted ceilings, the outside patio/sitting area had its own close lead gate, there were some nice touches like a towel for removing makeup, room had a fridge and microwave too! The comfortor on the bed was top notch, I could have wrapped myself away in it forever! I liked the shower, spacious and clean, the door and wall to enter the shower was a nice thick clean glass. My only complaints were that the tub in our room did not seal when the stopper was closed so it still drained, just slower, this was a huge disappointment to my wife who was really looking forward to a soak in the tub, finally the bed was too firm for my liking, it did not provide the best sleep, it really needs a pillow top or maybe a memory foam topper for maximum comfort.
