This is for the spa.we did the couple's special that includes breakfast and loved everything about it. The food is wonderful and the spa is very relaxing. The best is hiring the steam room after a message.

Beautiful hotel in a pretty much perfect location, as it’s very close to downtown Monterey, great historical landmarks like the Customhouse (California Historical Landmark number 1), and the wharf.

The lobby has been recently renovated. Nothing too drastic, just a nice updating.

Whenever I stay overnight in Monterey, this is my favorite place to stay.

Great bar service and food. Decent location with walkable options. Rooms extremely dated and unremarkable. 1 power outlet on one side of the bed to serve entire living area (another in bathroom). Only one lightswitch. No AC, heating only, tower fan provided. Given that this makes you open the sliding balcony door for air, there's also no screen. This setup might work if you are facing the water and likely to get a sea breeze but an interior room facing the courtyard / atrium is a very unremarkable concrete view and less air flow. Bring power strips and extension cords if you have any sort of electronics requiring power. You may experience a long walk from self parking to the hotel lobby and depending on your room location you might have a very long walk in my instance four hallways worth to elevator. Verdict: Not a great value for room costs, I would not stay for leisure unless major (way over due) room renovation was done.

I was there for a work event, only one night. Big shout-out for having a charging cable attached to their phones in the rooms, as I forgot my charger. Room was nice and comfy, hotel lobby and decoration was pretty nice. Location is convenient I think, from the few attractions and bars nearby we got to visit.

Beautiful lobby, excellent service and wonderful dining options. The rooms are nothing to write home about. They are dated, and oddly laid out. It's also under construction so your view on the lower floors is going to be a fence and a construction sign.
Construction also starts early in the morning so if you want to sleep beyond 8am you're out of luck. If you are lucky enough to be on the third floor, you will also see construction workers pacing back and forth in front of your window.

This hotel has a nice foyer and the restaurant called Jacks is nice.

But this place has no air conditioning. In 95% of cases that's fine for this location. But we came on a weekend when it was over 100 degrees. The rooms were hotter than the temperature outside and that is after leaving the fans on with the windows open all day.

Amazing hotel and service. We stayed only one night. Wished we could have stayed longer. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was amazing and was it's own work of art. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Great location. Close to fisherman's wharf, beach, stores, etc. Rooms are big and updated. Not all rooms have nice views but overall, this is a great place to stay. They give you a cookie at check in and a free champagne reception in the early evening. Staff is helpful and friendly.

I walked in to use their public restroom next to their ballroom, it was spacious and clean. My experience in their bathroom was top notch. The toilet paper was super absorbent and soft to the touch, certainly they spared no expense for their valued patrons. The sink was clean and fully stocked with automatic soap at the ready. The automatic faucet was a bit tricky, but after flailing my hands around in various positions and distances from the automatic sensor, I was soon overtaken with an abundance of joy as the water pressure was just perfect for the task at hand (pun must certainly intended). Upon finalizing the luxurious wash my hands found their way to a multitude of options. For the seasoned veteran, there is the traditional white paper towel dispenser at your left of the grand sink. However, for a more ambitious experience, head directly over to your right and try your luck with the automatic hand blow dryer, beware, it is not for the faint of heart. It quickly, and accurately, projects a warm steam of pressurized air directly into your palms and magically knows when to turn off all by itself. I've used many public restroom, this one, will absolutely surpass all of your expectations. One word of advice tho, whatever you think you know about public restrooms, forget, because this one is sure to astound you.

This is a fairly nice hotel. I wouldn't rate it 4 stars by Forbes standards but 3 sounds about right. The hotel is in a convenient location for those visiting Monterey and looking to do other things in addition to visiting the aquarium. Front desk agents were nice enough I guess. They could definitely use some training on guest interactions, and etiquette. Rooms were nice but a bit worn. Bathroom was beautiful.

Great room with incredibly comfortable bed. Minor disruption due to construction works but didn't really impact stay. For our room it did mean we had a much longer walk until we found we could leave the building first and climb up the steps to the side of the pub and save half the time. Helpful staff. Pool was disappointment. Great creperie for breakfast next to the hotel.

Had a great stay. Staff were great and room was clean and nice. Seems standard rooms do not have AC but entire visit outside temp was always around 60F so not really a need just keep the patio door open. There is a nice pub just outside and there is a ton of stuff within walking distance. Fisherman's wharf is just outside the back doors. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance or even inside the hotel. There is also Alvarado street to explore a bit.

Attended a one day off-site including an overnight stay. Staff was very friendly, helpful and professional, including front desk, concierge, door people, and someone who delivered something to my room. Great cookies! Provided a decent box lunch on our arrival. Catered breakfast was good, especially the scones. Room was nice. Bed was very comfortable. Ceiling fan is a nice touch. Nice shower, but I wish it had a tub. Good location.

Ate at the new Jack's restaurant. Service was amazing. Cocktail selection was very fun. I struggled to decide but went with the Jack and berry or something like that? My waitress also recommended a drink that came in a golden pineapple. Seared ahi tuna sandwich was delicious. Dessert was over the top good. I forget the name but it had raspberry sorbet and vanilla ice cream with a lot of chocolate all around: ) I will be back, next weekend actually!
