For being in the city this is a favorably priced hotel that's clean, close to a Subway enterance, and Includes breakfast. And it's across the street from one of the best barbecue restaurants I have ever been in.
Poor
Not clean, many things don't work correctly, when you need things you need to keep asking
Many other options in the area that are way better
I had a great experience there. The staff was super nice. I even had car trouble and the staff was able to help with that. Clean and comfortable.
The service is very friendly and the room isn't too bad. There were just two complaints I have. The bathroom door locks from the outside in the room we were in. So someone can lock you into the bathroom or just accidentally open the door on you. Also, the elevator was very slow. I'm talking 5-10 seconds to travel the length of one floor. It's pretty frustrating.
Update: bumped up to four stars because the breakfast was pretty good. Not just coffee, but actual food.
Very slow elevator neighborhood slightly sketchyprice was right and close to subway for easy transit to Manhattan. Noisy housekeeping in morning at neighboring rooms.
The service was extremely friendly, but the room wasn't very nice. The AC unit was very loud and disruptive at night. The bed sheets were very minimal. We paid extra money for the bigger bed but were still put on the ground level which was more like a semi basement level. Bathroom was not very well equipped however the shower did have a lot of pressure which was a nice surprise. All in all, you pay for the convenience of being walking distance from a very hip area in Brooklyn with great food and cool places to see.
Clean, comfy bed, decent breakfast, and a great location. Was able to get parking on site. walking distance to multiple restaurants and the subway. The housekeeping staff did a wonderful job and even doubled up on the toiletries which was a nice touch. The only issue was the small slow elevator.
Convenient location with easy access to Atlantic Center and Prospect Park West. Clean rooms with updated bedding for which the hotel chain is known. Likewise, modern bathroom features with good lighting. Bright, large and well-stocked breakfast area, also available for seating throughout the day.
As a guest of the holiday Inn express Brooklyn I'm quite happy with my stay here. The room wasvery clean. The hotel rates were reasonable and the location is right next to the R train that can take you to major locations like soho and battery park, etc. The hotel staff were also very polite and responsive to our needs. I would stay here again and recommend this hotel
We stayed for 7 days.
Pros;
The workers there were very helpful and courteous. Our room was clean, comfortable and just right for two adults and two children (10 and 14 yrs.). The breakfast buffet was delightful. Unlike what others have said the elevator does work but it is very slow. More than not we would rather take the stairs anyway.
Cons;
No on site laundry service. There's a small bag in the closest that fits only my jeans and a tee shirt.
For the location and price I highly recommend this hotel and all the hard workers that will do their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Very friendly staff. They go out of there way to provide guests with free meals on certain days just to be hospitable. The kind of hospitality and friendliness that you sometimes miss in chain hotels. Everyone was very nice and the rooms were exactly as expected. The parking in the back is a huge perk.
Prepare to pay a ton for parking or find street parking, small parking lot and 35$ a car. Came and lot was filled. Snowstorm had just happen and there were many spots that were not shoveled. Free breakfast was nice to have in the morning and staff was kind and curtious. Was in a good walk of many good restaurants and right by the subway. Rooms were clean but the sound of wind can be heard constantly throughout the day and night. And this had only one elevator that is fairly slow.
This hotel has 5+ star staff. The service from everybody was beyond expectations. Angelica was particularly helpful and really goes above and beyond. Everybody else I encountered was also great. The rooms would be 3 star, and could do with being renovated and deep cleaned, but overall they fulfill their function. The room was a decent size (especially for NY). Extremely convenient for the subway and a great bagel shop on the corner for a snack. The service gets this hotel 4.5 stars overall though, but can't give a half so I am rounding up.
