We arrived at the hotel late in the evening. It was a little unsettling that we needed to buzz the front desk to have them unlock the sliding door to gain access to the lobby for check-in. Not sure if the area warrants that level of security, but it made my family feel uncomfortable. We stayed in room 410 that night. Luckily I was the only one who used the shower/towels in the morning, as I found two face clothes with stains (which we did not create).

Gray location along I-85 for anything to do with Durham or Duke University. Right off the Interstate. Very nice hotel, clean.

I stayed one night at Holiday Inn Express Durham, and I really had no issues. Although my room key did not work at first, it got fixed in a heartbeat. Also, the free WiFi was fast, which I value highly. If you choose to stay here, I doubt you'll encounter any issues.

I was in town this past weekend for a convention. While at the complementary breakfast, a friend of mine spilled chocolate from her coffee down the back of my freshly ironed bright white shirt. While in shock of what to do because I was about to be at a business casual convention for the next 6 hours, Grace came to my rescue.
With the help of my friend that spoke Spanish, Grace not only scrubbed my white shirt for me, she dried it for me in the hotel dryer. She was calm and collected which called me down. She smiled and assured me she would fix it. Grace deserves recognition for her outstanding hospitality and her gracious demeanor. Thank you so very much, Grace. I will be sure to recommend the Holiday Inn express on Guess road in Durham in the future.response / report this review -

Quiet with polite staff. Rooms are clean & shower is phenomenal ! Has cameras for added safety. Across the street from an incredible BBQ place. Breakfast was adequate. Would like more choices. But overall, I would stay here again.

Spent the night here to prepare for my wife's surgery the next day. The staff was very nice, our room was clean and comfortable with no odd hotel smells. I'd stay here again if in the area.

This is where I always stay when I come back home to the Bull City! It's conveniently located on the side of town where I used to live and the places where I like to go when I come back to visit my godparents and extended family. The staff is always friendly and I always sleep well!

This hotel is awesome! Checking in was a breeze and the staff was friendly and very accommodating. I live in Greensboro and I have to come to Durham for my eye appointments at Duke Eye Clinic. This hotel had a shuttle to take me to and from my appointment and the manager even allowed me to check-out an hour and a half after the regular time because my appointment ran late. The complimentary breakfast is quite extensive for a hotel that doesn't go out of it's way to be elaborate. I definitely plan on making Holiday Inn Express my go-to hotel when I have appointments at Duke in the future
