We stayed in a recently renovated king leisure unit. It was exceptionally clean and hot breakfast was being served fresh right up until 10. Overall an easy and enjoyable stay.

It started out great. The first two days they replaced everything while I was at work including cups, coffee, soaps, shampoos, towels, and Lenin's. The longer I stayed the less things got done. No more coffee, no more cups, soaps, shampoos and they didn't replace my coffee maker even though I left a note that it had broke. Had all this been done every day I would add a star. Not to mention my room smelled funny. My two colleagues, one Mexican and one black where treated slightly different and I feel like I got better service being that they both were placed in dog rooms even after stating they were allergic to both cats and dogs. They both had to change rooms. I am also sorry to Inform the public that the gentleman working the front desk our first evening there, was inclined to share his opinion about two gay transgendered guests that we're trying to get a room for one night. I won't go into details but it was sad that an employee who deals with people on a regular basis can find it ok to chat about such things to customers. Yet the breakfast hit the spot all 5 mornings I was there! I feel like maybe Holiday Inn Express should do some employee spying here in Charleston South Carolina.

Breakfast was good. Room was old fashioned with minimal lighting. Bathroom had only 1 grab bar and no towel racks. There was a bit of mold. Only 1 of the 2 elevators worked. But---major construction on one side of the hotel went on day an night, VERY loud noises---whistles, bells, motors, engines, pounding, prevented any sleep at all at night. Management sent up ear plugs !!!! What an insult to guests on that side of hotel. Management had no excuse. If you must stay there be sure to at least stay on side where there is no construction

I love the staff there very friendly. David is incredible boss. When I was there I notice there would be one person at the front desk when three or more people up there at once rose come up there to help. They help one another

Advertised as "River View", should be revised to "Construction View". Sliding door and bathroom doors did not lock. Windows were covered in dirt. Bathroom was not clean and there was mold as others have stated. Just not clean. Breakfast was good. Parking was a mess. Not the best location. Look at the other Holiday Inn just over the bridge, River View, It looked much nicer.

Ultimately it was a great stay. We were given a suite which was clean and I saw no mold damage as previous complaints. The staff there was overly friendly which I loved and the cleaning staff went above and beyond!

The location is 10 minutes from good bars and food and King Street. Free parking which is a plus and Ubers/lyfts that are in the area.

The hotel itself is not under construction but right next to it there is. The workers work on weekdays starting early.

Front staff and cleaning staff are great. Central to MUSC and VA.

Evacuated from Harvey in Houston then from Irma in Miami. Ended up in Charleston at Holiday Inn Express Charleston Downtown Ashley River, Charleston, SC on Spring Street. What an adventure.

Then came the remnants of Irma and flooded downtown Charleston, lost power, and no places for food.

David (GM) and staff (Rosie, Brian, Faith, Ms. Dee, and really the entire staff) never left us. They brought food in from their homes and fed all the guests and evacuees for several meals until the events were over.

They even rescued people from cars and never turned anyone away!

True, there might have been other choices of hotels but undoubtedly we were meant to come here. We will always remember the staff and the group of guests and evacuees who gathered as a family to overcome.

Please don't hesitate to select this location and come join the family!

On the surface this place looks like a great deal but its definitely not. Its almost like Hilton brand came in and tried to "dress" up a sub par property by replacing some furniture but not fixing any of the major issues. First off everything around this property is under construction so just getting iun and out is a major hassle, and forget trying to park anywhere that feels remotely secure. Security is non existent. The two exterior doors on our floor were both unlocked so that anyone could walk in at anytime. The patio door in our room would not lock but thankfully had a security bar. We requested a higher floor but were still given a ground floor. The a c unit is like something borrowed from an early 90s motel 6. It clicked on an off every few minutes and made the room feel like a swamp no matter what temp we changed it to. We actually booked two nights but will be leaving after our meeting tomorrow. I would rather drive home a day early than spend another night here.

IHG member disappointed- I needed a quiet local place to study for the LSAT. I was willing to pay for 5 nights at typical Charleston rates. The hotel is dated and needs serious renovations. Rooms are small and there's bare minimum everything. The parking lot is under construction and it is a nightmare to get in and out of the hotel, esp with roadwork. The whole hotel is damp and musky. Typically members get acknowledged, not here. I asked for a complimentary water and it was an issue. Cancelled and requested to check out in the AM.

Once again we visited our favorite city: Chatleston, SC. This time we stayed at the Holiday inn Express at 250 Spring st. We had a wonderful experience! It is very close to Downtown and easy access to any place in Charleston. Tyler Dockery greeted us at check-in and he was really fast, helpful and efficient. We will definitely stay their again!

The amenities were lovely. A little farther out of town than expected. Being a little more than a mile away from the city center we expected to be able to walk to downtown. If you are willing to walk beside a highway, go for it. Rooms were nice and quiet and the beds were comfortable. I want to know where I can find pillows like they had!

Location was decent. Rooms were small, but good. Water remained hot. Breakfast variety was of the normal selections. Staff was informative. Staff attended to my friend as best they could, after he stepped on a nail on a board in the parking lot. There's construction going on next door, which made the parking a little difficult. Overall, no complaints though.

If you're are looking for a great place with a view near downtown, this isn't it! It is a basic hotel with no frills. The surrounding area is near huge construction sites so you have to park in make shift gravel lot nearby. The construction starts early in the morning too, so no sleeping in on your trip. The room has descent space, but low brow accommodations. The breakfast was low budget, there isn't even a microwave for the instant oatmeal they have out. It could use an update to the maintenance and room cleanliness too.
