We arrived late in the evening and they found us a nice two bed room even though the hotel was quite booked. The room was lovely. The next morning we had a wonderful full breakfast. We ordered eggs and sides and the coffee was quite strong and good. We had problems getting there so we had very little has left. We mentioned this to the front office receptionist and she solved our problem by asking thr maintenance man to take us in the hotel shuttle to the gas station yo fill a gas tank they even provided for us and bring us back. The gentleman even poured the gas into our car tank! Whrn we checked out, the receptionist told us that they were not charging us for breakfast! The Christmas decorations were fabulous as well.
Usually this is my favorite hide out spot when I wanna get away from everything and disappear. Even though it is still in the Birmingham Metro Area. It is far enough away and comfy enough to make staying for a night or two a treat. I Would give this past experience five stars except for two things. Number one, we booked the stay on one of the travel sites and somehow the reservation was made for the following day and not the day we were going to be there. Had I just called the Hilton Garden Inn at Liberty Park directly and requested a room instead of using a site that mistake could have been avoided. Also, if you book your room with Hilton and you call them directly you will almost always get a better deal in the long run. Unfortunately we ended up with a sub par room due to our not having the reservation on the correct date. Our usual room is a King suite which at this Hilton Garden Inn, includes a very large garden tub and shower. Our room was handicap accessible and where that might be wonderful for someone with a disability or temporary impairment. For me it was just a huge let down. Keep in mind, this was an escape! Institutional wasn't the "feel" I really wanted.
Moving on, the second reason I was 'slightly' disappointedthe night time staff. Look I am not saying the guy working the desk was rude or even not helpful. He was actually, in the end, very effective and helpful. He did move or reservation date, and didn't really have much of a problem with doing that. Beyond that particular thing he wasn't much of a "host." I've come to expect a certain level of service from Hilton. That is why I stay at a Hilton property every time I travel or want to just get away. Its the best product on the market! I've stayed at all kinds of hotels, all over the world. The most consistent and customer centered hotel chain in the world is Hilton. So with that in mind, this guy didn't go out of his way to make our stay anything more than just a night in a hotel. For the most part everyone at this location has always been friendly, helpful, and certainly have gone out of their way to provide the service you would expect from a Hilton property. Maybe I am being a bit harsh, but really all it takes is one extra step! Just one, is that so bad? I think not. Hopefully when I go back again, things will be different. My suggestion, check in during daylight hours.the staff is much more polished! Happy travels.
Starting to age and have issues. Dinner menu could use some sprucing up. Breakfast is a good deal. Made to order eggs, pancakes etc. Very convenient if you are working in the area. Safe area.
So far it is not a good experience. A/C will not cool lower than 72 degrees when thermostat is set at 65 degrees(Room #507). Front desk move me to Room #521. With the thermostat also set at 65 and the unit cycled on and off at 71 degrees. It seems to be cooler than 71, however I am now using my personal fan to enhance the cooling. I called the front twice and it rang for about 10 times with no answer. Typically at Hilton properties they follow up with guests to ensure all is will. If they treat Gold/Diamond members like this how would they treat those staying one night? I have been gold or better for 15 years, maybe it’s to look at Marriott/ Holiday Inn?
I stayed here for an overnight trip. The room was just as expected, clean and crisp. Check-in was simple and fairly quick. Customer service was very nice, even though they were swamped with a ton of women for a local women's conference.
Suite was nice, shower was small and cramped in king suite. Ate steak dinner at hotel $60 for the two of us, and had upset stomach all night long. When checked out I told the clerk and she was totally unsympathetic. She didn't even say "Oh I'm sorry, I hope you feel better or anything. Won't stay here again.
Front desk service was good, room was clean, hotel was well maintained. There were multiple soccer teams staying at the hotel including my daughter's and the hotel was aware of the volume, and that's where I take issue. Breakfast was a disaster. They were terribly understaffed knowing that they had multiple teams staying there. Breakfast area was filthy and the food items available on the bar were barely sufficient for the volume of customers. Not what I expect at an HGI, and as a Diamond member, I know what to expect.
I had quite the ordeal with this hotel. I'm a loyal member of Hilton Honors and stay often when traveling for business. To give an example, I'd stayed 4 out of 7 nights in 3 different Hilton hotels the week that I stayed at this Hilton Garden Inn located in Birmingham. I would like to reiterate that I have never once and 30 + stays over the last 18 months had an issue at all with any other Hilton Issue 1. The hotel cancel my reservation even after I confirmed. Issue 2. A general manager never came in to fix this issue even after stating he would be in at 9 a.m. Issue 3. My room was filthy and the property was Torn to Pieces. There was long brown curly hair in my linens, indicating that there is no way the Linens were changed. Additionally this long hair was strong all throughout the bathroom. There are holes in my ceiling and a humongous staying at the end of the for that appear to be bodily fluids. The lady at the front desk change my room. When I got up to this room, everything look to be okay, until I opened up my window to find several spiders located in between the panes of the last. Lady at front desk stated she would have Jonathan for maintenance come up and clear the spiders away. He never came. However, when I call back down, the front desk representative informed me that Jonathan had been upstairs and was unable to, even though in maintenance with proper tools, open the window. However, my husband was able to do so upon her saying that the window didn't open and therefore he reported "not being able to get between the windowpanes.' This was a blatant lie. My husband was able to open the window just fine; allowing him to furthermore handled the spider situation. Never stay at this hotel unless you expect a budget hotel experience. Thr damage to this property is nothing I expect of Hilton. Furthermore, there were several bugs in the light fixtures as well as random forks and knives laying about the hotel.
Our suite felt like a tiny sanctuary! We had been traveling all day and was welcomed with cookies and warm smiles. The ambience coming up to the hotel promises you a relaxing stay. Breakfast was amazing, the bed was perfectly perfect in every way. I would stay again in a heartbeat.
I came here for a wedding rehearsal, and was quite satisfied with their preparation. The inn itself was very nice, but I didn't use any of their ordinary services, I renting a room, etc.
Stellar stay with excellent service! I really enjoyed my time at this clean, well staffed hotel.
Rooms were great, food was good and the service was Remarkable.
Beautiful hotel and rooms. Friendly staff. Warm welcome.
Very pleasant front desk attendant. Advised me on a great restaurant nearby. Great value and close to my work destination. Conveniently located next to a shopping area, Fresh market and Target. Nice rooms. Easy access to my car. Very quiet. I had a Good night's sleep. Lobby and restaurant seemed very nice too
