Nice evening social. Very clean and nice staff. Free breakfast as well but I didn't make it down for that.
Location was convenient and easily accessible. Rooms were fine, a bit older, some age and stains but appeared to be clean. The pull out couch was clearly on the list of things to be replaced in the room along with the main mattress. There was a graveyard of discarded furniture at a dumpster in the parking lot and judging by the discomfort of the king mattress and the broken springs, hole punctured "mattress" on the coach -- these pieces needed to be retired very soon. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The conplimentary breakfast was one of the better ones I've had, the coffee was also quite good. The only issue we had was with billing and checkout. The front desk agent had significant difficulty splitting the total charges between two cards leading to 5 incorrect authorization holds on one debit card which will now require a letter to the bank to release all the funds quickly. The MOD was very helpful in correcting this and provided gift cards as an apology for the complications. An annoyance to be sure but overall would stay here again.
Very nice Hampton Inn convenient to the airport and downtown. Very clean and modern. Manager's happy hour is an added plus. Nice pool and fitness center. Has meeting space available on site. Several restaurants within short walking distance.
I was happy to hear that I got upgraded with my gold status to a suite, to be fully shocked at the condition of the furniture in the room. The couch had a cushion that was fully ripped open and the chair also showed significant wear and had a rip. I go to a lot of Hampton Inns and this hotel's quality just didn't match the others I have stayed at. I almost called down for another room but thought if this is a suites condition how would a normal room look. I ended up leaving after one night even though I was booked for a two night stay.
This a great vacation hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is super. Evening happy hour is wonderful and the location is accessible to downtown without being to crowded. Also local food scene in west Ashley is spectacular. You get your money's worth here.
Very comfy beds, nice little happy hour & breakfast. Rooms need updating re furniture showing where & tubs need bleach. Also awkward entrance.
Lobby, breakfast and beds were all wonderful! However we had a good bit of black mold in our bathroom. It was on the walls, on the wallpaper. All very noticable. Unfortunately it made the whole room feel unsanitary. We stay at Hampton Inns a good bit and love the brand. This was disappointing.
Very polite, attentive, and professional staff from the front desk to the kitchen and maid service! I wish I could experience this level of sustained service at every hotel I stay. Wow, 4 days/3 nights of consistency. Thank you!
Great Hotel, Great Location, Better Rates Than Downtown
I'm usually not a big fan of Hampton Inn as many have gone downhill lately, but this one is great! Beautiful lobby and great room with wonderful hot breakfast. Outdoor pool in courtyard that leads to separate building for the fitness center.
Room was great. We actually had the choice of a standard room or 1 bedroom suite for the same price. We of course took the suite. Suite was clean with wet bar with mini fridge and microwave. Separate bedroom, all clean and comfortable.
Great location at the end of I-526 in West Ashley area of Charleston. Close to Airport and just minutes to Historic Charleston. Rates much lower than in the historic district. Plenty of restaurants nearby as well as a major shopping mall.
Great hot breakfast in the morning, included with the room rate.
Nice place friendly staff ,nice breakfast and cheese and crackers most evenings. Excellent very enjoyable.
I really like the bed and the desk chair!! What I did not like was that there was green rust in some places. The bed headboard's decorative piece is missing a screw, the power outlets only let you plug one device up at one time, the tub is discolored and the drain is corroded. There was also hair on the shower curtain and the tub probably needs recaulking. There needs to be more places to hang towels, and one towel rack is bent and peeling. I do like the hair dryer and the shower!
The location looked new from the outside. However, the room was worn and needed attention. The room was huge, with a bedroom, bathroom, mini kitchen, and large sitting/TV area. The booking was for a standard room but doubt this was the normal size. it was clean but the couch and chair should have been in the landfill instead. The chair had burn holes and both had large stains. The breakfast was fair but did have fresh fruit. The others I've stayed at offered what tasted like canned fruit. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Everything was great! Pool was open late and the room was ready much earlier than we had thought. They even had a very good breakfast bar!
I would highly recommend this hotel for people visiting Charleston. The staff is outstanding-very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The decor is beautiful-you will feel at home upon entering. They offer a happy hour every day, and breakfast.
The hotel is conveniently located by 526, and within 15 minutes of Downtown Charleston. I think it would be good for business travelers as well as tourists.
