Tracie at the front desk was very helpful and had a vast knowledge of the area! The hotel is a good value for the price of the stay.
The staff is wonderful, but the hotel itself is rough. No microwave or fridge in the room. No breakfast in the morning. The beds feel like they are 10 year old medical cots with nice, heavy sheets draped over them. We are staying on another's dime for this trip, but we would not spend our own money to stay here.
The hotel was very nice, and a great price. Everything was clean. Steven was so exceptionally helpful at check in. I always stay here when I am in Charleston.
This is the first time I actually felt obligated to leave a review on a place. I want to make sure to warn people before they book here. The place didn't look terrible when we pulled up, but the parking lot had some sketchy activity going on. A lot of people just hanging around in the parking lot at 12 am. We were still willing to give it a chance though because it's not like the motel can control that. When we got out to check in, the people working weren't overly friendly, but I'm sure they were tired working the late shift. All of that wouldn't have been important if our room had been decent. The room was really gross. We had bugs in our sheets, dirt on the floor, hair all over the bathroom. The whole room was just moist and dirty. I had worked a long day and so had my partner, if not for that we would have insisted on a refund and found a new place to stay.
I don't even know where to start, since it is my first bad review. We have arrived at 3.30-4 am and was counting on 2 hours late check out as we requested, but front desk told us that we can check out at 12.30 latest, because they are fully booked ( as it turned out in the morning they were not fully booked). Room was barley cleaned, there was dust everywhere, i am 99% sure that sheets haven't been changed and I believe they have bed bugs. I woke up with plenty of small itchy bites. Bathroom is really small, but that's not an issue. In the chandelier in the bathroom there is plenty of dead bugs. Towels weee smelly which suggests that they weren't washed either. If we would not come that late after 9 hours of driving we would definitely look for another hotel immediately. In the morning, cleaning ladies were super loud around our room and started knocking on the door at 11 am, after we said 5 times can you please come back later we have check out at 12.30 they just entered our room while we were in bed!!! They didn't even say that they are sorry or apologize, they just left room after my boyfriend said AGAIN that we have room till 12.30. Exactly at 12.20 while we were picking up our stuff, they just stormed the room and when we said that we just need to take our things out they were waiting whole time by the door. We paid $133 per night and for this price it is NO NO NO NO!!! We paid the same amount for amazing hotel in Savannah and didn't have any issues. This place is just dirty, does not respect their customers plus they have bed bugs, I don't know if there is anything else that you need to not go there!
Had a great stay here .The staff was Awesome.THE manager's are awesome.pet friendly and in walking distance of everything.food and coffee and grocery store and lots of other great places in walking distance of your room.we enjoyed our stay at the red roof inn.we will stay here again.
DO NOT! I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE!!! This place is a dump the clean service sucks. They couldn't clean a room if there lives where on the line. Have to walk all the way to the front desk just to get coffee is not like a coffee machine is expensive, so why is there not one in the room.
Upon arriving the Front desk Clerk was very friendly and efficient. Went to our rooms and first one was very clean and fresh smelling. Second one had partiers prior to our stay evidently it reeked of alcohol and bed had stains. We called front desk and she was very prompt to bring us a new room number and key to us in the one room we liked. So problem addressed and solved in a matter of 10 minutes. Best service I've experienced in a hotel before!!!
There was no A/C for this newly renovated property that boasts to be 100% smoke-free, yet still reeks of stale smoke. The city shut off the water to the hotel at 2200-0200 hours and the patrons were not offered bottled water to brush our teeth, flush toilets, or take medications (basic functions), unless you call the front desk to ask for it. The location of the hotel was nice. It is easily accessible to many areas. The service was poor. I booked two nights at this hotel. I promptly asked for refund for the second d night and took my business elsewhere. You should too.
Better than I could've expected. Best Red Roof I've ever stayed at. Clean, nice room, and employees were friendly and helpful. Pet friendly with no add'l fee. Unheard of!
We had a lot of luggage and there was no elevator. There is no microwave or fridge, I thought these things were standard these days. I've stayed in some crappy cheaper places they at least had that. The room was clean except the hair dryer appears it's never been washed. No breakfast! They charge you for a safe you won't use.
So three stars were given to a hotel that only deserves two again the room is clean, this place has a decent sized pool area, swings by the lake and picnic area with a grill.
Room was not thoroughly clean but decent. Staff was pleasant. NO BEDBUGS but lots of tiny flying bugs. After a very busy day, we were comfortable enough to lay out heads here.
Was put up here for a few days. Nice clean room. Friendly staff. Dogs allowed with no fee. Very attentive. Dog walking areas. Good location.
The hotel is located conveniently close to bridge to Charleston. There are many area restaurants both fast food and sit down to choose from. However, there is no complimentary breakfast at the hotel. The rooms have been updated and tastefully decorated with hardwood floors. The air conditioners however are noisy. We appreciate the quality for the price.
