Nice place. Right in the middle of downtown Austin, within walking distance of serveral nice restaurants. Good breakfast as well.
Rooms were clean. Hotel staff was nice and very helpful. Breakfast served was different and delicious every day. Pillows and bed were so soft! Really a great experience all around :D
I arrived at 5:30 am and asked if I could check in. The person behind the counter said “ well that is certainly a early check in”. I said I know and I am willing to pay extra. He said oh no extra charge let me just find a clean room. The room was clean and quiet so I was able to take a nap before my friend joined me later in the day. It was such a pleasure to have a hassle free experience after traveling all night.
Upon arriving to the hotel, we were greeted by the valet drivers and once inside, the lovely staff at the front desk. On the other side of the lobby, a pitcher of lemonade, yummy! The lobby also played host to gorgeous furniture, in particular, a fabulous hooded canopy chair that is now on my wish list for purchase. I was given coupons for sushi appetizers across the street and also had a chance to visit Gus's famous chicken. But there was also a happy hour right at the hotel at 4:30 which included delicious pulled pork sliders and beer. I sat on the balcony with my co-workers and enjoyed a nice evening with beautiful temperatures chit-chatting before reclining to my room for a good night sleep in a very comfortable bed. I will give this hotel 5 stars but the hotel driver, I think his name is Mauricio needs to learn how to stack luggage a little bit better. He kind of sloppily through our bags in the back and wouldn't turn up the music when we requested to sing along to a great tune on the radio. Other than that the whole staff is a great and the location is sweet, smack dab in the middle of wonderful restaurants like P.F. Changs and walking distance to places for the culturally enthused.
Good comfy beds and pillows. Nice rooms. Walls are paper thin so the asshat who lets the door to their room slam every time they enter/exit could keep you up. And I could hear his conference call early in the morning.
Staff was very helpful throughout our stay. We stayed for the very busy F1 race. Rooms were clean and breakfast was good. Would use this hotel again.
The hotel is very close to the convention center, very convenient for convention attendees. Every staff person I have interacted with has been incredibly nice and helpful. My room is nice and very comfortable. I will recommend this hotel to friends coming to Austin with no qualms.
This visit was not as stellar as my last. I received an "upgrade" to a suite, which is positioned on the San Jacinto side of the building Apparently, this is the loud side of the building, because my stay a year prior on the opposite side was far quieter. A significant problem we noticed early was the toilet -- you had to hold the flush for several seconds, even if it was empty, or the water wouldn't go anywhere. My wife was pregnant, and asked for extra pillows around 8am on our way out of the building -- I would have to ask 2 more times to finally receive them from a completely grumpy employee at 9pm. The hotel also put nearly a full extra night on my card for incidentals, which is much more than the usual $50-100. The pool, by the way, was ice cold until about noon. I still give 3 stars because of the price, the proximity to the convention center and 6th Street, and the amenities like happy hour and free breakfast. I will consider a different hotel next time.
We stayed here for ACL so that we could walk to the festival. The hotel is very nice with all the amenities you want: fridge in the room that keeps things very cold, great hot breakfast, quiet rooms, comfy bed, and AC! The location is over a mile to the festival but still the best option we could find, even with the extra $37 parking fee per day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was perfect for our combined conference going and tourist needs. It was an easy walk to the Convention Center, Museums, Art Galleries, and excellent local restaurants. The staff were friendly, kind and helpful. The balcony a wonderful spot to sit in the shade and read or recover from a long day exploring Austin. The bed unfortunately was not up to Hampton Inn's usual standards, lacking the foam mattress topper I've found at other Hampton Inns. It was a fairly comfortable bed for my husband, but I have a chronic pain condition that gets worse with standard spring mattresses. So I was rather disappointed. The breakfast was normal Hampton Inn fair. Overall a great hotel, in an excellent location, recently updated interior (except the mattresses). Fanciest Hampton Inn we've stayed in yet.
Large room, decent breakfast, friendly staff, moderately sized pool, snacks and cool lemonade provided (a lifesaver in 100 degree heat). The only thing missing is a hot tub.
Wonderfully convenient to the convention center, which was the biggest plus. The room wasn't huge, but was more than enough for one person. The bed was fantastic as evidenced by my sleeping eleven hours my first night. The breakfast was good with many options and I highly recommend the 5:00-6:30 happy hour. Everyone working there was great.
It's a nice hotel but very old. Decent service. Very friendly staffs. Rooms are medium in size. Just perfect.
Breakfast is off limited menu.
Need some renovation I guess.
I will recommend specially for those who has convention centre related work.
