Really slow to get checked in despite it not being very busy when we arrived. Rooms felt a little dated, had some signs of wear and year. Toilet was pretty industrial in comparison to everything else. Water pressure in shower was meh at best. Bed was noticeably lumpy, and climate controls didn't seem to work (room really heated up in the sunlight). But overall, view from the room was amazing (overlooking Millennium Park) and location felt pretty central in relation to areas we explored. Would stay again, and just hope for better service and room quality.

Attended the Cookies and Cheer event that was being held at this location. The staff was very friendly, the decor in the lobby and bar area was nice, and the hotel was clean. Would definitely stay here if I was looking for lodging options downtown.

I chose to stay at the Fairmont because I like the way the rooms are laid out. However they could use some updating the. The vinyl that was used to trim the bed and a seat in my room was cracked and peeling. The mirror had a crack in it in the lower left hand corner. But the service was nice the people were nice and the room was extremely quiet I slept well.

Bed was a bit hard for my taste, and the pillows are those old-school feather pillows, which provide no support whatsoever. Abroad, most hotels offer internet for free. People who come to the Fairmont will be surprised on how much they have to pay. Place is a bit secluded from major streets. Not really sure what is driving the high premium. $655 for two nights? Good luck, mate.

I only visited the lobby area to meet-up with a friend. The lobby was nice, it was furnished with soft sofas and situated right next to a bar. It was noisy but not overbearing where you couldn't hear your own voice. I would say this spot has great ambiance and has potential for networking.

Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. I would definitely recommend paying the extra $ to get access to the breakfast and snacks in the gold club during your stay. We got our money's worth of snacks, that's for sure. The breakfast was killer. I had bagels with lox every morning of our stay and it was heavenly. The hotel is centrally located in downtown and within walking distance of the train to get to the airport. I would highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel itself is nothing special, the rooms are nominal at best with old and aging hardware. However, the staff is phenomenal at ever aspect of their job and it's extremely apparent that they only hire personal with a high drive for success. I am beyond please with hotel staff. I hope they are well payed because they deserve it. The hotel itself needs to be redone from top to bottom.

My lady friend and I spent six nights at this excellent hotel and enjoyed it tremendously. Although the hotel could use some updating, our suite was clean and lovely, with wonderful views of Lake Michigan and the park, and the hotel's location is outstanding. In particular, the Concierge staff was fabulous, tending to our requests with enthusiastic response. This was my first return to my native city in 30 years, and the Fairmont Chicago made it extremely enjoyable. Thanks!

We are big fans of the Fairmont Seattle, and this was our first introduction to the Fairmont Chicago. We had a great view room overlooking the park. Service was fantastic, as always. This is a great location: just a block to the waterfront parks. Our three year old enjoyed both the hotel and nearby playgrounds. Recommended!

The service and view we're great. The rooms were mostly clean but when we opened the cabinet to our mini fridge the front panel was ripped off exposing some insulation and an unpainted hidden panel. Other than the issue with the mini fridge the stay was great!

Rooms are a 4 Star, bar and lobby are a 3 Star, staff is a 5. Stayed on the 32nd floor with a great view. This is a nice hotel, I don't know if it's worth the extra money. We usually stay at the Palmer House hotel. Another great location with a lobby that truly is magnificent if you like a "wow" factor. I would say this hotel is not child friendly, just a feeling.
On thing that was amazing was the bathroom. Very nice and luxurious.

Conveniently located a couple blocks from Michigan Avenue, the Fairmont Chicago provides travelers wonderful scenic views, a comfortable bed and voluptuous showers to wash away the stress of your travel. Enjoy complimentary exercise facilities which are even stocked with the necessary apparel if you have forgotten your own. Although the Internet access is at an additional cost, entertainment options abound and the concierge is well versed on local cuisine and events!
