I live in Statesboro so when the walk in clinic is closed I HAVE to go to East Georgia. I have a VERY good insurance, but I still have trouble paying my portion of the bill. I get phone calls from them just about everyday. I have asked them to send letters to my house and I will pay it as soon as I can. They still continue to call while I'm at work. The last time I was hospitalized I had a nurse come into my room that was wearing a scrub top that looked like it had not been washed in a week and I could have told you exactly what she had eaten that week. She came in to draw blood and then tried to put a band-aid on me that she had stuck to her nasty top! The staff is rude and they make you feel like you are bothering them when you need assistance! AVOID East Ga Hospital if you can help it! I would rather make the drive to Savannah.

This hospital doesn't even deserve 1 star! Staff there is EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. They don't run all necessary test to give you a correct diagnosis. They act as if they don't care. The wait time is WAY to long!! TRUST ME GO TO SAVANNAH! It's like any women that goes there in pain they say it's a ovarian cystread all the reviews and you will see the pattern. Same thing happened to me! They gave me WAY to much pain meds to the point the min i left i got sick the whole way home. The nurse was making fun of another nurse right in front of me. Don't waist your time going there I can't believe they are still open!

If at all possible i wouldnt give it even a 1 star. My mother was placed there on a 1013 and had to stay over night before she could be transferred to another hospital. The guards at her door were so nice and friendly to her. They did not treat her like a crazy person. The nurses however could use some work. Zero personality and could have cared less about her! Treated her like a disease. Was told we would receive a call before her transport to another facility and we never did! What a lousy hospital and lousy excuses for nurses! I can see why this place is only 2 stars. Thank you to the guards though for making my mom as comfortable as could be and treating her like a human.

They've handled my back issues and spasms better than my doctor. They ask more questions and run more tests than my orthopedic and I'm very grateful for that.

1 year Update: a little over a month after I made the short review above they were able to discover the cause.. It was blood clots. Working with my PCM, the Cardiology, Pulmonology, and Hematology depts- they were able to do an emergency EKOS procedure that saved my life. It's one year later and I'm back on my feet. I couldn't be more grateful for this hospital.

The nurses who cared for me were friendly and kind- they helped me be strong in a very scary situation and I will never forget them. ♥️ One nurse even came back to check on me on her day off, the day following the procedure. The drs. were very informative and kept myself and my family in the loop about what our options were, what would happen next, how procedures worked, and what to expect in recovery. Dr. Jain and Dr. Cichelli even made visits to check on me in the middle of the night. Again I can't say enough to do justice for how well EGR took care of me and my family.

I've seen better service and competence from an 8 year old playing doctor with a broken stethoscope. These so called medical professionals made my wife and daughter, who had just left the ER with severe abdominal pains and a probable diagnosis of apendicitis, wait for 5 hours BEFORE they even ran a test. The entire staff was rude and nasty whenever they were questioned about anything. They wound up saying she had a burst cyst and she would be discharged. No meds, no help what's so ever, just a ton of wasted time. This hospital should be closed and the employees should have their licenses revoked.

Maybe I went on a good day, because, despite what most of the reviews about this hospital say, I had a pretty good experience here. I went in to the ER for a fever and dizziness, and they got me in immediately (there was no one else waiting anyway, so maybe I would have gotten in soon even if it was not an emergency). I was given everything I needed until the nurses and techs were able to perform their tests. I got 4 tests total, and didn't have to wait long in between each one. After all was said and done, the Dr. knew exactly what was wrong with me, and prescribed the appropriate medication (which was correct, because I am back to feeling 100% better). Afterward, I talked with the financial counselor about paying my bill, and she helped give me an estimate. Total time spent from start to finish: 3 hours. Truly, I was shocked at how quick, friendly, and professional the staff was; far exceeded my expectations for an ER. I don't know what kind of stuff really goes on here to make so many people give such bad reviews, but for my experience, I thank everyone at EGR for their hard work and help to make me feel better. You all did great for me! 5 stars.

Was there with my daughter and we couldn't have asked for better care. Zero wait time before being taken to the back and then saw the doctor within minutes. Very satisfied with the care she received and friendly staff. Love this place!

The ER wait is atrociously long. You may get triaged and given a room, but receiving care takes hours at best. The nurses seem incompetent, understaffed, and under trained. They give you unnecessary test, medication, and so forth in order to pad your bill. Even when you get a diagnoses to be released, it takes hours before they give you the release paper and no matter the amount of complaining, you're the a-hole. To them, your a gnat buzzing around.

The doctors never make rounds, and the times they do are so late, you've already dealt with the issues on your own, albeit in a bad and terrible manner. They take forever to give you test ordered, purposely in order to keep you longer to charge for extra days. As well, they have a really bad system set up, so it runs badly.

Nothing they do at this hospital is done without dollar signs as the immediate thought. As if they go around asking themselves, "Can we charge the patient MORE if we do this instead of this?" even if it's the worse health care option.

They bill the patient before even billing the insurance companies in hopes to double dip and get multiple payments for the same services.

For instance my father has medicare and BC/BS, yet they bill him the total amount every time. When he calls and ask how he owes anything more than a few dollars, (medicare covers 80%, and BC/BS covers 90% of the 20% left over), they apologize and make excuses.

They V.A. has paid them, only for them to admit to losing the payment, but still demand I repay them. Totally incompetent.

Will start going to Savannah unless it is absolute dire we use EGR.

Wish I could leave zero stars. This place is the most crooked hospital I've ever been in. I was ready to leave the ER hours, HOURS, before they checked me out. The longer you stay, the more they charge you. Performed unnecessary tests when I told them exactly what was wrong with me. The nurse threatened to catheterize me if I didn't make a urine sample. And the billing department lied about what my final bill was going to be. I wouldn't take my dog there. I'll die before asking for service from this organized criminal enterprise again.

Absolutely the most horrible place to take a loved one! To say there is even a level of care at this place is a huge overstatement. The reviews are here for a reason. Read them and BEWARE! It sickens me that I have to give this hospital ONE STAR. The doors should be closed to this hospital and never reopened! My heart goes out to the families that need emergency care in Bulloch County for a loved one. If you can get them to Savannah to any one of its three hospitals there, do it!

There services was terrible!!!! My daughter was sick for two days and having a fever. She had to wait.in that rotten hospital for 3 hours with no service. They were spelling people's names first and last instead of just saying their names. They had people lined up against the walls waiting for rooms. They always work under staff which provides extremely poor service!!! I could.go on, but there is not enough space or time. To sum.it up East Georgia Reginal Medical Center is the worst hospital known to man!!!
