Rooms were incredible and walking distance to the Phillips Arena. The staff was flexible when my lodging arrangements had to change. The staff was proactive about ensuring that I had everything I needed for my stay. The only negative was that there was no call down for the valet which seemed odd.
This hotel took in all of us weary travelers after Atlanta lost power. They gave us cookies and water upon arrival. Also supplied us with toilettes. They were amazing. The hotel is clean, and has some good coffee. Thank you staff. You have no idea how good you made us feel. God Bless all of you.
The check-in process was quick. I like the location of this hotel as it was easily accessible to the downtown area and in the walking distance to many restaurants. to The room was immaculate, spacious, and comfortable. The most important thing to us in staying in any hotel or motel was the bed. To us, the mattress, the pillow, and the blanket all look great, absolute white, and spotless. Secondly, the wifi signal was strong and fast. The hotel as a whole was well - maintained. The receptionists were very helpful and amiable. The bedroom and the bathroom were quite small, though.
We initially had a great experience. Check-in was easy and the room was nice. However, on our last morning, we ordered room service breakfast at 9 am. We were told it would arrive in 25 minutes. 45 minutes later, we still had no breakfast. We called room service and were told it was "on its way." Fifteen minutes later, still no breakfast. We called back to cancel and they had not even started our food. This set us back an hour on our 5-hour drive home and we still had to find breakfast.
Very cool renovated retro theme hotel. King Junior suite room was fabulous, large 2 room with large bathroom in between. Great beds and bedding, dark room, quiet perfect temperature control. Only critique would be breakfast food could be better.
Hotel has been newly renovated. It has a neat auto theme and is very clean. The bathrooms are kind of small, but for business travel, it is fine. The staff couldn't be any friendlier. You have to go to the restaurant, I would put it up against any fine restaurant I have ever been to!
Solid hotel that is renovated. My only complaint is they always tell me they are going to give me breakfast coupons under my door and they never do. I've never had that problem at any other Hilton but its happened repeatedly and I'm a diamond customer. Don't know where the break down is occurring but it should be fixed. Room service is really good and reasonable. I've stayed several times and I consider this a good backup hotel when those downtown properties with more amenities are not available.
The hotel is great and coolly decorated with 60s style! I love their modern furniture! The hotel staff/clerks are friendly. Unfortunately, there are no bar & restaurant inside; it doesn't finish remodeling. That hotel doesn't have laundry room! When the hotel is completely remodeled, then I may give it 5 stars!
We were in Atlanta for a family reunion and this was the hotel the committee chose. This hotel has gone under a major renovation. There is a picture of what the hotel look like a long time ago and what it looks like now. The staff was amazing. Very polite, eager to help and did their best to accommodate us when we wanted to change rooms. The location is also excellent being in Downtown Atlanta.
With that said there are still things that need to be worked on. The electronic door locks did not unlock easily and we would spend a couple of tries with the card attempting to enter our room. The safe was extremely small, and the sliding shower door would slide about a quarter open because it was not level splashing water on the bathroom floor. Another problem I had was how expensive on site parking was for guests per night, $32.
Our room was very clean and the decor was nice! But not everyone that works here is nice. Actually only one person(Calvin) was helpful, respectful, and super nice! And not to mention they charge an extra $50/night for a deposit fee that they do not tell you about. Although you get the money back.they immediately charge your card and you don't get it back til about 5 to 7 days. What if that was your spending money or surviving money for your stay??? When I explain to the desk manager that we where not told about that extra charge, he chuckled and said quote: "well ma'am you should have asked"How would I have known to ask?? Anyways will we stay again?? Yes and only because of location and because my husband loves it. Will I recommend it?? Yes, but only to warn you that ask questions for EVERYTHING!!
The Double Tree Hilton in Downtown Atlanta is a nice looking hotel with a horrible level of service. This evening I returned to my room around 9:00pm and used the restroom. The toilet did not function, no water flow, just not working. I realize these mechanical issues happen, and can occur in any hotel. I called the front desk and let them know of the problem, they were very concerned and told me they would have a maintenance department up soon to fix the toilet.
This is big hotel and busy so I waited two and half hours, and no one has showed up. I again called the front desk at 11:30pm, and I was informed that there has now been a shift change and there are no longer maintenance personnel on site. They are sorry but my maintenance issue could not be fixed until the morning, because they have lost, forgotten, or misplaced my call because of the shift change. The hotel is full, so there are no rooms to change to. So here I sit in a hotel room that costs $150 plus tax per night with a toilet that doesn't work and a staff that can't be bothered to flow up on seemingly basic hygienic issue.
I would recommend that anyone reading this review go to another hotel. Unfortunately, I'm here on business and will have to remain here for another two nights.
For any Hilton Double Tree employees reading this review, my room number is 832, and my toilet still doesn't work.
I love staying in this hotel. This is my 3rd stay and the attention is great. The rooms are impeccable. Would recommend to friends.
The Double Tree used to be a different hotel way back in the day and you can see how it has been renovated over the years. I like how they've kept the history of the hotel in its story. The rooms all have mini fridges and are clean and comfortable. Really enjoying my stay here.
The lobby is real nice and real close to Centennial Olympic Park. The rooms are mainly newly renovated. The king suite is huge and all looks like it has been renovated real recently. Large king bed in its own room and large bathroom with shower on a fancy rolling system. The separate living room that featured a couch and chair. With a large TV.
Great hotel with superior staff!!
Pros: Comforting atmosphere, accommodating management, Clean rooms, pleasant atmosphere.
Cons: Under construction at the time.
We stayed here with a group of 21 people for Passion Conference. Hotel staff greeted us with complimentary cookies for each person (impressive considering a large group). Staff was more than accommodating providing roll-away beds as needed. Check in/out process was easy and convenient with no issues.
