Their pool is ridiculously small and no hot tub. The rooms were okay and even though I had an ocean view, most of it was the side of the building. The hotel is literally next to the highway so you will hear a lot of traffic. $25 to park was crazy, especially for what little beach front they have. The breakfast consisted of non perishables, so needless to say I had to stop somewhere else and buy breakfast. For the price of this hotel, I’d recommend somewhere else. Definitely not worth the money

Hotel was great and the rooms were very clean and rather large for a hotel room. The staff was very friendly and enjoyed the roof top bar. Definitely would stay again if I'm in the area

I was there for a presentation and didn't stay in the hotel. Nice location across the street from Doheny Beach. The staff was young and enthusiastic. The hotel produced box lunches for the attendees that included a really nice sandwich, chips, cookie and banana. My only complaint would be the minimum $15 parking for a 2 hour visit.

The bathroom needs a new toilet (we had to pour water in it to make it flush), new faucet and toilet paper holder (both are rusted and old), and you can hear the AC when you take a shower- weird. The fridge we had to play with to get it cold enough. The screen slider was broken. The couch bed was very uncomfortable. The noise level was very loud at night til 11pm (on a main road and the bar on top of the hotel attracts drinkers). WE FOUND AN OPEN BOTTLE OF HARD LIQUOR ON THE FLOOR WITHIN REACH OF OUR 2 and 6 YEAR OLDS! We told a front desk gal and the manager was in the office and she told her, but she did not come out and apologize. All they offered us was free parking ($75) and 40,000 Hilton Points for one free night's stat later. They did not seem too alarmed which was very hard for us to understand. :/

Great location, super friendly staff. Rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was a continental breakfast but sufficed as we were running out the door most mornings. Valet was speedy and in the evening the rooftop lounge was magical. Will be back again.

Just steps from the beach this is an old property with a modern-day flair.

Locating this property is a snap using Google Maps but whatever you do don't blink as you'll drive right by this property. Parking is a breeze but $25 a day parking fee with no extra charge for valet is slightly more than pocket change. There are four dedicated disabled parking stalls with easy access.

From driving in, to checking in you are greeted by a ten-stars staff on a five-star scale. My stay was in the Pacific Suite which certainly gained me points with Mrs. Grumpy as the soaker tub was the highlight of the suite.

During my stay the on-site restaurant was closed for remodeling. Although there is a large variety of great restaurants just steps away from this property I think it would be unsafe or an uncomfortable stroll to any of the nearby restaurants because of the geographical layout of the road system.

This property has a ton of amenities which is well described in the earlier reviews.

I did note this property has subtle hints of deferred or shorted maintenance that really shows off the properties age. Simple repairs like reinstalling the ice machine metal mesh to set the ice bucket on while getting ice is overlooked. This was a note I made from the fourth floor ice machine and at minimum the cleaning staff or a sharp maintenance supervisor should have detected this issue before me. Although we improvised the fireplace in the suite did not work with a flip of the switch, and/or it was very unclear how to operate. If you are a morning sleeper make sure you shut the bathroom door entrance as there is no window treatments in the bathroom and that light reflex into the sleeping area of the suite. In addition the window treatment in the seating area is too short and also allows morning light in the sleeping area.

As to pricing it is unclear to me whether this property is competitive or not as it was selected at random without comparison. Although the $25 a day parking fee really set a first impression.

I guess I should note the tablet depicted in the fireplace picture is not standard to the Suites.

All in all, it was a great few days and I really enjoyed my time spent in this location. As well, I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. Godspeed, Grumpy Grandpa.

Nice location, short walk to the state beach. Pool is pretty small and seemed to always be at max capacity. Rooms were clean and sufficient in size. Would stay again.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was nice. There was trash left on the floor from previous occupants. The hotel is right next to the train tracks which made it hard to go to bed at a decent hour and sleep in at all.

Didn't clean my room and very expensive for what you get. Try to book the Marriott instead since it's the same price and nicer

During our 10 day stay we enjoyed a beautiful view from our comfortable corner room. Exceptional bed, soft fluffy towels, and great service from all staff, they responded well to our every request. We appreciated the free breakfasts & drinks they provided for our 40th wedding anniversary.
The price is a bit steep, but with the beach & bay across the street, having a garage and visible security nightly, and restaurant on site, the overall value is worthwhile.
Other than a couple of minor details, we were very pleased with our visit, and we'll be back.

I feel like the DoubleTree is a more business like Hilton to stay at. The room is a bit too small for the price payed. Doesn't live up to the pictures on the site either. But it's not terrible either. Whatever temperature is on point

This hotel has just about the worst management of any Hilton hotel I have stayed with. There is nothing like paying $240 for a room and then having them downgrade you without offering any reimbursement, or even acknowledgment for that matter. I spent over $800 to sleep on a pull out couch for three nights. After confronting them every single morning about not being in the right room I decided to contact Hilton directly when I got back home. The response from this hotel was to give me Hilton Honors points. Seriously? How about reimburse me the difference between the price of the room I got and the room I paid for? The $60 worth of points you gave me is laughable as I only do business out of town in Dana Point and clearly will not be staying at the Hilton for now on.

FYI: I stayed down the street with Quality Inn and Suites a couple weeks after this place and they were extremely well trained.
