My wife and I just returned from a week stay at the Blue Lantern Inn in Dana Point, and what a good week it was. The Blue Lantern Inn deserves 5 stars, from the moment we checked in (early) to the lovely note they left for my wife on her 30th birthday to the surprise champagne they left for us on our last night!!! Every staff member we interacted with was fantastic, and the room was great! We look forward to going back!
Breathtaking location; room with a fabulos view; helpful, courteos staff; best seats for viewing the Dana Point Christmas light boat parade; awesome walking trail around; all in all, the most awesome experience; would recommend it highly! Thank you Blue Lantern Inn for making our stay so memorable and enjoyable!
Love the ambiance. No in house restaurant so no room service BUT the atmosphere is so peaceful and beautiful that those amenities don't matter. They do offer breakfast and late afternoon wine and hors d' oeuvres which is so wonderful with with the perfect view. Will stay again.
Beautiful! Amazing views of Dana Point. Lots of charm, the rooms are so comfortable and clean. Lovely terrace to overview the harbor and ocean. Friendly, fantastic staff!
Wonderful staff! Very clean, beautiful building and property. The happy hour offerings put hospitality to the next level!
We were looking for a last-minute getaway for Labor Day weekend and didn't want to go too far from LA. I was able to find this place and they actually had room still left. By the time we got there they were already sold out. The property is very nice and clean and it's on a hillside above Dana Point Harbor with awesome views if you get a room on that side of the property. We got a first-floor property and it said partial-views but it actually had a patio that was shared with the other rooms that you can go out and still have an awesome View for a lower price than the balcony ones above. They have cheese and wine in the early evening and they also have a buffet-style breakfast in the mornings. Our room came with a jacuzzi tub and it was the lower-priced room too. I highly recommend this place for a getaway. And it's close to many restaurants that you can either walk or drive to Doheny State Beach is pretty close about a mile and a half or so away and you have the marina down below the cliffs. And there's two restaurants literally right next door around the corner including the Chart House.
The Blue Lantern Inn is the best B & B in Dana Point! Friendly and courteous staff, beautiful rooms, spectacular views, lovely breakfasts each morning and wine and cheese each afternoon all included in the cost of your stay. Additionally, they have massage services and a gym. This place is place is spectacular!
It is located high on the bluff over looking Dana Point. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The rooms are large and have nice balconies. The location is quiet and relaxing. The home cooked breakfasts are wonderful. The photo was taken from our balcony.
My family and I have stayed at this Inn several times in the last few years and we absolutely love it. The last time was in March 2017. The rooms are large and the view from the hotel is breathtaking. The breakfast is very good and the area is beautiful with so much to do by the the ocean. I would recommend this Inn to anyone visiting the area.
This a prime location property, offers an unobstructed view of the Dana Point harbor while sitting in the open patio. Adjacent to the Blue Lantern are some great places to eat like the Chart House, Canons Seafood and quite a few more in the Dana Point Harbor proper. This place is very nicely maintained and offers a luxurios furnishings and is well worth a stay.
My family stayed at this resort in January 2017. We did not receive the accommodations we purchased upon check-in. The lady was very rude, and reported she only had a king garden room for THREE ADULTS! We reserved a superior ocean view with two queen beds. The room we received had water leaking from the ceiling, mold thriving in the bathroom, leaking mini-bar, soiled bed linens, broken shower, and was filthy! After much back-and-forth with the staff, I finally spoke to a manager who reported they had one room with two beds, but it was a basic garden view room. The manager refused to compensate us for their error, or remedy the literally unlivable conditions.
Stay away! The resort is disgusting, food below average, staff unaccommodating.
The staff, rooms, and breakfast were very nice. As was our view from the room. However, the water in our shower smelled like sewage, the water pressure came and went, and the temperature was unstable. For the price, the lack of pool or jacuzzi was a bummer. Overall I'd say it is a nice hotel, but not worth the asking price. Again though, the staff were really wonderful.
Perfect. Absolutely loved this place. The 4-5pm free wine and cheese with the view is a major bonus, but the rooms are even more spectacular. The room's jacuzzi, our balciny, bedroom fireplace, SERVICE, and next morning breakfast-in-bed were some fantastic highlights.
Everything about this place was simply awesome. The blue lantern inn not only had a perfect view of the Dana point Harbor and the beach, but the complementary service that we received such as free champagne, free continental breakfast, and parking, were the best. Although we didn't use the beach cruiser bikes that were offered and which were free as well, I know that we could've gone far down PCH, the main road which is associated with the blue lantern in. Did we forget to mention the fireplace or the hot tub which came inside our room which overlooked the ocean? Yeah, those were are also awesome. Last thing is that the pricing was incomparable. Two nights for the room we got on the weekend being under $500 was crazy.
