I've tried many of the sushi places in the area and this is by far the best option. The fish is fresh, the rolls are all made, the price (roughly 12$ for cut roll) is worth it. Especially considering grocery store sushi is a tiny fraction of the quality and nearly the same price. I've been on a few occasions at different times of the day and it's consistently good.
Can't wait to come back!!

This place use to be a great family place, and date night place. They have changed so much lately that it's not worth the drive or the time. When You eat at a place like this, you go For the experience of watching your food be cooked in a entertaining way and for the environment to be kid friendly and fun. Now when u go there they won't sit you at the teppan grill until there's at least 10 to 15 people that they can sit at your table, and if there's is not that amount of people waiting you have to wait for the reservation people to show up to sit with them. Where before all of theses new rules and nonsense they would sit you right away NO MATTER THE PARTY SIZE. We went on a Thursday it was slow and there was 4 of us and they made us wait until the reservation showed up to set us which was about a 15 minute wait, and then we were told the reservation was late and they said that they give them a 15min window which meant we were going to wait a Half an hour. What a ridiculous rule. We went to Benihana we were sat right away, no matter the size of the party, the service was great, and the food blew RIPTIDE out of the water it being the same type of food and all. Ther service at RIPTIDE sucked. Be smart eat at a place that's feeds u when your hungry, especially when it's not cheap to eat at places like this.

Constant excuses for terrible service, food was cold before it was brought to the table, and lunch prices are astonishingly high. If I were you I would find yourself a better Japanese steakhouse. It wouldn't be very hard.

Worst restaurant experience in a long time. Arrived at 6:00 before our party so went to bar to have a drink. Asked for a napkin to wipe off the seats and was advised to move to the end of the bar as water was dripping from the overhead AC. Wife ordered a Gin &Tonic. Tasted horrible as the tonic was flat. Turns out tank was empty and the didn't have another. Solution? Give my wife an Asahi and make up the difference by topping off my Guinness. Got to table which was in the back with no airflow. Very hot, especially when they got the stoves going around the exterior. I ordered the Suchi Tacos. Picture looked like fish tacos you'd order at most Mexican restaurants. They were the size of a folded Silver Dollar and cost $12 for 3. They have an electronic ordering system which is cool because it sends the order direct to the kitchen. However, if you plan to eat when everyone is served, think again. Our orders came out at very different times over a 20 minute period. Chefs did a lot of spatula banging, but not a very good show.

Recommendation: go somewhere else. Riptide is a Ripoff. Quality and comfort poor. Cost expensive. Value low.

I like how they ONLY address the 5 star reviews. No response for the customers who felt they had such poor service or low quality food. Just finished dinner and I agree that the service is slow, probably because there is no one in the restaurant, so maybe those who are are low priority. My gripe has to do with charging $6.25 for a kid's meal of $0.99 Kraft Mac n Cheese, and I have to m pay another $3 for a drink. How is that a bargain? Kid's meals elsewhere are typically $4.99, and includes a side, drink, AND many times a dessert. The chef show was OK, if I hadn't already seen it a dozen times at Beni Hana.

We had Teppan NY steak and filet mignon, without rice. Delicious! And it's always fun to watch the cook cook, and play around.

Worst Tappan ever. Staff seemed uninterested. Food was close to flavorless. A beer was 10 dollars. In short expensive and terrible.

Walked in to a filthy disgusting fish tank in the lobbythat was the fist bad sign.. If you can't treat your live life right what makes anyone think you can serve safe fish??? sat down at the sushi bar where my spouse and I were attacked by flies there were only about 4 tables filled when we arrived and received little to no attention from staff the fish in the bar looked extremely inedible for it being raw and my chair and table were so sticky we had to move. We never ordered anything because no one served usand well the autmousphere was making my stomach nervous. We left Ill never risk eating here This is the type of place you go if you have a ton of anxious kids and you're not really interested in eating raw sushi This is a really low quality excuse for a sushi place. I will never recommend this place to anyoneever

Worst night ever - we've had slow service here before, but decided to try it again. I called and was told I could get a 6pm reservation, I called back five minutes later after checking with family and could not get anyone to answer the phone, I called incessantly for 45 minutes, with no answer. Then I finally got through at 4:30, was told it wasn't busy, but they could not take my name or make a reservation, was told probably a 20 minute wait. We arrived at 5:30, was told 45 minute wait, waited 1 and 1/2 HOURS.
Once seated, salad was soaked in watery dressing. They did offer us an appetizer for the wait, which was nice. But then Korean meat was so burned, my husband didn't touch it. My Ahi was so rare (I asked for medium), he put it back on and it was at least palatable. Overall an awful experience, thought I would give this place a final try, but never again.

I'm not a big fan of sushi, but this place is amazing. Food is great. Menu is diverse. There is more to the menu than just sushi. I've been here a few times with family and friends and everyone has loved it. I entertain for work and people I've taken here have requested we go again the next day. Highly recommended.
