Packed in like a sardine. Food was very unhealthy but you’ll pay 10 times what you should. There was nowhere to get a quick cup of coffee at hotel, which made it even more painful. My kids really wanted to go, but didn’t even get to do many things they hoped due to huge crowds and ridiculous waits. Takes 20 minutes to go 10 feet down Main Street at Magic Kingdom. I could go on about racism and animal cruelty the only thing magical was leaving! Next time the kids want a good time I’m going to certainty have to think outside the box. Stay away from this one!
We enjoyed our stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The rooms were spacious, while keeping to the animal theme. The towels and bedding were very nice quality, tub/shower was large. The staff was exceptionally gracious and accommodating. The best part was the ability to see the animals in their Sahara right outside our window. We will visit this resort again.
Awesome resort!!! I never really thought I'd like animal kingdom lodge, but it was way better than I anticipated. It is an awesome hotel with amazing staff. The restaurants are all great. I love the native staff they tell you the cultural history of their nation. It's absolutely an amazing experience, you definitely won't regret staying here.
I’ve never stayed here before, so I was excited to stay somewhere different since I come to Disney so often! The room was clean and very nice - we even got upgraded from a standard room to a pool view room upon arrival which was unexpected and awesome! The lobby was beautiful and decorated for the season just perfectly. The customer service we received at the front desk was welcoming and very nice, her name was Caitlyn and she looked genuinely happy to work there and service others!
The bed was very comfortable and the room decor was perfect for the hotel and very warm. It didn’t seem far from Epcot and Hollywood Studios, but we only went to those two parks this time. I can’t say I’d come back here as a first choice, but I have no complaints!!
What a wonderful hotel! The building itself is stunning, the grounds and animals on them are beautiful, and the food is nothing short of fantastic. The staff here bent over backwards to help with any request we had, I couldn't possibly say enough about them. If the hotel has any drawback to it, it's that it's quite far away from the Magic Kingdom area and having to stand on a bus back there after a long day isn't ideal. That's a minor complaint though compared to everything else spectacular about this place. Stay here and you'll be so very glad you did.
Great service and workstaff. The space is very creative and fun. Love seeing real animals on the yard. The restaurant foods were tasty some places were pricey, but everything is. The room was well maintained and taken care of. Showers bathrooms clean bed was comfortable for a hotel. Fun place for family.
As expected, very unique experience with a few animals right outside your window. Decorations and atmosphere were amazing, all the way down to the live lobby entertainment. Didn't use the pool area much, looked nice and pretty large pool (two hot tube locations). Transportation to and from the parks was lacking (might have been an of week) took long for buses to arrive and they park really far away from everything. Tracked from the bus to our room just over 1 mile. Then the rooms with a great view, still did not meet my expectations. Hard beds, fridge in level and door didn't quite shut, tub water constantly dripped, bathroom a tad small ect.. (I could go on but if you are going to Disney, you doing have much time for rooms. Enjoyed the stay (truly did enjoy), probably won't come back.
We came here to get drinks and watch the animals at about 9pm. The bar was still open but there was no way to observe the animals without taking our drinks with us. Also, our venture landed us eventually at the arcade which still had it's doors open but we're not accepting credits at ~9:30pm! The drinks were good and the bartenders was fairly nice. The interior was very impressive and had many cool artifacts and lots of design. Most of the materials were Stone and wood. There was also a very large fireplace that you could sit around in the lobby.
Disaster! Huge regret staying at this resort. First off, our room had a strong odor of mildew. Never had 1 towel animal in our room as people claim. Sheets had makeup on it. Stingy with toilet paper. TV didn't work half of the time we were there. I found hair in my food at the Mara. We paid for a meal plan prior to our visit but the cashier at the Mara charged our credit card instead of using our credits. For the price we paid to stay at this "so called" nicer resort, a motel 6 would have been better. DO NOT STAY HERE. I wish I had my money back.
The resort was beautiful. We had a savanna view room and were able to see all the animals from our room. . . unfortunately when we checked into our room I took my 3 year old to use the restroom and he lifted the toilet seat only to find his had covered in feces! The toilet was covered in it all down the front of the toilet. We called the front desk and they did send someone up to clean it but we were told that was very unusual almost as if they did not believe us or just did not care. Not what I expected for the amount of money we played to stay here. Very disappointing.
My family rode the monorail and then a bus to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. My youngest daughter loves giraffes and we were looking to see them. The lobby is spacious and decorated richly and exotically. The staff are Disney courteous, which is different than regular courteous. Like saying a restaurant worker is Chick-fil-A courteous. Above and beyond helpful and friendly. We were able to see the giraffes just past the lobby. The walkway to further in the savanna was blocked off but we got a good glimpse. We are considering staying at this resort next visit .. the rooms have balconies and look out to the savanna with grazing animals!
We stopped into the resort to look around and see the animals. The hotel is beautiful! They have a place to sit inside around a fire, as well as outside where you can also view their Savannah. As we were not guests we didn't go near the pool area, but the lobby has plenty of seats and artifacts. The bus transportation is close, just a short walk from the front doors and they have a screen with times of arrival for each bus! We smelled some amazing food outside but couldn't find where it was coming from while inside. We booked a stay next week and we are so excited!!!
Such a nice atmosphere. The staff was always very helpful and there was so much to do at the resort. The view from the hotel looked out on giraffes, zebras, ostriches, and more. There was face painting, cookie decorating, and roasting marshmallows. Rain or shine we were able to keep busy. We just loved our stay.
The lobby is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are very nice and clean. We had a standard room initially and absolutely great views of the animals from our balcony. We switched rooms to get a king size bed, and are now looking at a parking lot. But at this point, prefer the bed over the view. Bus service is good. The mara leaves a lot to be desired. Limited food choices for a quick service, and very limited soft drink options.
When Disney settles on a theme, they go to great to lengths to carry it out. Animal Kingdom Lodge is architecturally stunning and embraces African culture. The Lodge offers a pool, a hot tub, activities, fine and quick service dining, as well as washing facilities. The staff is also very accommodating. The highlight is the view from the room. It was incredible to see giraffes and gazelles from our balcony! All in all, a fantastic stay!
