Initially, customer service was great. My first room was OK. However the hallways smelled funky and like the carpet (or something) was wet. I needed to book an extra day the next morning, the receptionist was nonchalant and couldn't help much. When I came back to check in later that evening, the manager apologized for the employee's behavior. I respected that. I also explained that the man was watching me as I went to get my things from the room after he couldn't help me extend my stay. The manager explained that there had been recent break-ins so he was being caution. Obviously I was paranoid all night after that. When I went to work the next morning I noticed what looked like mosquito bites on my arms But I didn't recall being bit by any and I wore jackets because it was cool out. Long story short, I believe I was bitten by bedbugs. I didn't have the bites after sleeping in the first room but did after the second room. I feel gross and won't be staying there again. The manager's customer service was awesome though.

There a fee of $20 outside of the original room rental fee that they do not tell you about until after the initial charge. The heater/AC looked like the only inaminate object that could mug someone. The staff was really friendly though and the bed was pretty good.

Good quality for the price. The bathroom could use more cleaning there was what looked to be black grime on the shower walls. The beds were comfortable and the room having the micro fridge and microwave was very convenient. This is my second time staying here and I will stay here again next time I have to stay over night in Birmingham. Conveniently located within minutes to VA hospital or shopping.👍👍

My wife and I travel a lot and don’t normally stay in expensive motel during driving days.
This time, we are traveling from Miami to California and we already stayed in a couple of motels that are so terrible.
We really don’t expect much but clean bed and bathroom. Most of the place can’t even offer us that.
We’ve read many reviews about this Days Inn which weren’t that great but we it was getting late and we could not cancel our reservation so that we decided to go there without much of expectations.
We arrived and talked to the receptionist and we thought she was so friendly which one of the review said badly.
We came in the room and surprised everything is quite clean.
Internet works very good shower is nice and hot and we actually joked about staying one more night.
Now this is a motel that charges only 50 dollars range, cannot compair with fancy hotels but we really felt it was worth our money.
Thanks to all the stuffs made our experience wonderfull.

Stayed here just for a get away night.. The beds are the best thing going for this place. The pool was dirty, the television didn't work properly, kids running around the place. My husband an I have our 12 year anniversary coming up I only hope you guys have fixed the issues because I do like the area and the king size beds!

Cheap place, free breakfast. Staff was very nice. The rooms good be cleaned better, the soap dishes were nasty and there was dust behind the curtains in the window. The sheet had writing on it.

Should have looked at reviews before booking. Rooms are very dirty and not kept well. Front desk very rude during check-in. If a reward member gets this type of treatment what does non member gets? 2 stars because of friendly personal in the breakfast area other ways this place would deserve no Stars.

Checked in, went and checked out our room, and immediately went and checked out. Absolutely DISGUSTING. Pay the extra and stay somewhere nice. I posted 3 pictures on here of the shower and the lock on the door. The door didn't lock, the shower was the worst I've EVER seen and the place did not seem safe at all. Went down to the front desk to say we were leaving and the poor guy gave us our money back without even questioning us. It seemed like it happens to him all the time. Seriously it was AWFUL.

This was the condition of our second room.

The first room's lock wasn't working correctly and the card keys wouldn't work. The lock didn't work easily on the second room either.

The only reason I'm even staying is because I have 2 very tired young boys and I really don't have the energy to find another hotel. Another family that checked in after us, checked out before we had settled the key card issue.

At least the bed's linens appear clean and the room was cleaned to acceptable level (ie recently dusted, vacuumed, etc).

The furniture looks like it belongs in a frat house, not a hotel. Every piece is broken and beyond even yard sale quality, really.

The ceiling has a place that needs to be repaired after an obvious water leak.

I was surprised by the state of disrepair the overall hotel was in, especially from a large corporate brand. The pool didn't appear to be working as the water was cloudy and still. You can tell that at one time this hotel was a pretty nice place with great amenities. Unfortunately, time has taken its toll and without some considerable repairs it will continue to fall apart.

The pros to this place are it's location, the price, and there was a fairly popular club/bar attached to the lobby but away from the guest rooms.

The hotel is centrally located in Birmingham. It is an older hotel but I enjoyed my room and the bed was awesome! It was a good value!

I actually visited The Days Inn bar called Bar 31 for an event. The atmosphere is lively & fulfilled with local bands or comedians provided as entertainment without a cover charge! The menu offers a variety of choices with all made to order. I especially like the way owners Wendy & Eddie Webber are on site just about always with sincere smiles of welcome. Its unique in our fastpaced lives to find comfort & relaxation while enjoying a night out on the town! For these reasons plus others not mentioned, I wholeheartedly recommend Bar 31 in Vestavia Hills, AL as your new 5* location to visit!

Good location next to the interstate but easy to miss hotel entrance. Room was very clean and orderly. Check in and out conceirges were friendly. Wifi was usable most of the time. Room included coffee maker, mini fridge, and microwave. Daily newspaper available as well. Only problem I had was no trash cans. Lots of food options nearby.

Hotel needs updating. The smell when you open the door to the hall was not pleasant. Our room overlooked a greenish/black pool. However, the bed slept great!
