I ordered the barbecue chicken and it appeared to be oven roasted (not barbecued) and then thickly smothered with overly-sweet “barbecue” sauce (sure, let’s call it “barbecue sauce”, but it was more like a chutney). The chicken had the consistency of boiled chicken which is not appetizing.

The meat should have a smokey flavor, but this didn’t. I am not sure that they understand what barbecue is.

The sides were bland. The cooks obviously have no understanding of how to use salt and spices because neither the potato salad nor the cole slaw had any flavor.

The “BBQ” beans were cold.

While they did give me a full refund, they didn’t seem to really care; no manager came by to ask what the problem was or to say “sorry, can I get you something else.”

Highly disappointing. Don’t waste your money.

Sleepy staff, botched & omitted food orders. Excuses and apologies were the theme from mgr Katy. Bar is still putting out awesome drinks. Annoyed by constant parade of tour groups being led through the place as if we were all part of some strange exhibit. Mediocrity reigns at this favorite Santa Fe joint. Please find some inspiration. Focus on the customers, not touring people through the tiny rooms!

Very friendly staff, love the indoor decor. Parking hidden in the rear. If you park in the back you need to walk up to the front to get a table. Excellent list of wiskey bourbon and scotch. They overcooked my burger, but it was still very moist and. Huge portions.

Wish they sold their BBQ by the pound. Next time I want to try the brisket.

Cute and eclectic restaurant. Busy on a Thursday night. Live music but also areas away from the music and still hear it. Good was fantastic. Suggest the Smoked chicken stack with green sauce. A good amount of spice but not lip sweating heat. Great beers.

Hands down, the best chicken-fried steak I've had the pleasure to taste. It had a thick, crispy breading that was smothered in a creamy white gravy. It came with mashed potatoes (peel on), that were also covered in gravy, and a veggie. I chose the veggie of the day - snap peas. All of the flavors and textures in this dish were pure heaven.

My family and I went on a Saturday night. The service and atmosphere I would give maybe 3 stars but my biggest issue was the food. I had barbecue, my girlfriend had scallops, my father had a salad, and my mother had bratwurst. My father ended up finding a bread tie in his salad and told the waitress about it who didn't seem all that concerned, he eventually just ask for more pairs that were on the original salad and she took the old salad back to the kitchen. When it came time to get the bill the waitress was nowhere to be found we finally tracked her down and all the restaurant did for us was take the salad off the bill. Later when my girlfriend and I returned home we both ended up being sick to our stomach's!

I would never eat here again in my life!

A huge on-tap beer list, excellent burgers, fantastic buffalo meat loaf. Great service, awesome atmosphere. Love the heating lamps for outdoor seating on cooler days. Dog friendly!

Atmosphere is great, back patio play area for kids is awesome. ANY meat dish entree is awesome and cooked to perfection. Side dishes and garnishment were not fresh (probably because menu too large). Wait staff very busy, took very long to tend to our table. Don't drink lemonade, rancid :)

I eat BBQ all over the country. Today I ate at cowgirl and had a half chicken. The chicken by far was the most delicious-succulent-fall-off-the-bone chicken I've ever had. The sides.need work, but the chicken was so good it deserves this review. Service was great too as busy as this place is. Enjoy!

Excellent beer selection, about 20 or so on tap. Superb southwestern / American cuisine that doesn't empty your wallet. Conscientiously sourced meats, everything from yak meatloaf to beef and bison burgers. Best burger I've had in a long time. Tasty options for vegetarians and gluten free options too. Oh, did I mention they have live music. Going back tomorrow for more great food and beer! And after reading some of the negative reviews, I have to say that service was prompt and friendly, though it took about 10 min to get the check after our plates were cleared.

I had not gone to the cowgirl in a few years. I was delighted to find out that their service and food quality was still top notch. I ordered the 'mama' burrito. Very flavorful. Generous portions. Burgers and comfort food is what they do best and I'm glad they have kept it up.

Expect to have the wait staff flirt and play with each other and boys. Expect your waiter not to pay attention and get order wrong and then blame the customer for mistake. The wait staff only has to take order and put in to kitchen. They don't even bring it to you. That's two things to do and can't get that right. Very disappointing and I will make sure none of my friends or visitors not go through that by spending our money at another establishment. I had driven 100 miles to eat at Cowgirls in Santa Fe. BIG MISTAKE!!! That's after checking web site which is not accurate and calling ahead and inquiring about menu and dog allowed on patio. What a joke

Good food and beer selection. Play area for the kids.

Got here about 2, so they seated us right away. The service was great.

Tried the pulled pork sandwich with diablo sauce and a couple beers. Bottom bun had a hard time holding up under the pork, but good flavors. Nice and spicy! Eyes watered up a bit. Fries were pretty good. Slaw was a very small serving and just OK, but it helped cool my mouth after that sandwich. I would've liked a bit more of it.

This place is so popular, a review doesn't matter. Crowded, fun, great beer, an adequate kitchen, good-looking servers, live music, a huge dining area, a small bar, patio with table umbrellas and separate billiards hall It's one big picnic with attentive service. Cowgirl delivers what locals expect. And they keep coming back. So what difference does this review make? It might if you try the 5-Pepper Nachos with chicken $12.

Great food and ambience. Server seems new and he is extra courteous and a bit shy. We loved him. There is an outdoor playground for kids and tables around it. Great setup for a night out with kids.
