I dont like leaving reviews under 4 stars but I have to do it to this one. We booked this room to stay overnight after a trip to Busch Gardens. The night staff gent was okay. Not very attentive but not rude either. There was plenty of parking and our room was very clean. Why 3 stars. We were suppose to have two queen beds in the room. They ended up being two full beds and made our sleeping arrangement pretty uncomfortable. Could have I gone stairs and complain to the gent that checked us in? Yes, but we were extremely tired from walking the park all day and just wanted to rest. There was not any kids channels on the tv so this was also something I was a little upset about because our little one wanted to watch cartoons. The lady in the morning that checked us out was the sweetest woman. We checked in the 23rd at night and checked out the 24th in the morning.

I am going to be as detailed as possible regarding my experience with this hotel. My mother and I were staying at the hotel from 12/1-12-4. The experience just started awful right of the bat. My mom and I went to check in approximately at 9:45 am. The attendant who "greeted" us was named Betty and she had quite the attitude from the get go. I am familiar with the check in process and know that it is standard to present ID and method of payment when checking in. The lady Betty was assisting a trainee who was relatively new and showing him the process. When we asked if she would need our information she quickly snapped and said "Hold on! We need to pull up the reservation first!" I had looked at my mother and she looked backed and we were both appalled. We had then proceeded to wait a few more moments, mind you there was no one in front of or behind us. She had finally pulled up the reservation and had snatched our cards.

My mom then chimed in "You're mean, you know that." The lady then apologized in a very insincere tone and proceeded to type in the computer. She tried to justify her rude behavior by saying she was actually talking to the trainee and that he needs to learn. We then told her that regardless as to who she was helping it was unbecoming and condescending to speak to anyone in that manner. The worst was yet to come. My mom had advised that my brother and his wife would be coming in a few hours later and that they would be needing extra keys for the room. Betty had then had us WRITE down both of their names and then had then proceeded to LOOK like she had put it in the system. We verified that once they had arrived, they would be good to go.

Fast forward to a few hours later. Around 4 or 5pm the same day on 12/1. I received a call from my brother stating the hotel would not allow him the keys as his name (nor his wife's) was on the reservation. I don't know how this would be possible as my mom and I had MADE SURE that we gave the attendant Betty their information. The new attendant had advised me that it was probably written down and once the previous attendant got clocked out it got lost. This could not be the case as WE SAW the previous attendant (Betty) typed it in and we verified everything was good. This was the last slight that she did. Luckily we had multiple keys so that we did not exactly need for my brother and his wife to get theirs. It was just a precaution. She was trying her hardest to be as inconvenient was possible.

I am writing this to let Marriott know that this was the worst treatment my mother and I have ever received and I was told this is not the first time this person (Betty) has received a complaint. She was insincere, deliberately rude and combative and NOT who should be at a desk greeting people. Upon checkout I was greeted by the same attendant Betty who again in her insincere and false town asked how my stay was I told her it was awful without elaboration. I surely hope something is done about this in the future as I will be telling everyone I know.

Please be aware of their cancellation policy due to cancelled flights. I spent 6 hours in the Charlotte Airport trying to get to Tampa for my hotel reservation only to have my flight cancelled at 10:30pm. I immediately called this hotel to inform them I couldn't make it due to my cancelled flight. So after the extremely frustrating airport experience I'm told that I will be charged the full room rate due to not cancelling 24 hours in advance. How in the world am I'm suppose to give a notice when the airline cancels my flight after waiting 6 hours! Then I was told that was their policy and there was nothing they could do. I had been a faithful Marriott Rewards member for 10 years until today. Now I will begin using my Hilton Rewards at their hotels. They should add airline cancellations outside the customer's control as a reason to allow a cancellation under 24 hours. Now that would be good customer service! Now I'm calling and emailing to get my receipt for the night I wasn't able to stay but you can't get through. I called three times and they will pick up then hang up. I finally got them to answer and they put me on eternal hold. Definitely not customer service oriented at this hotel.

At check in and check out we found no one at the front desk. Both times we had to walk around to find someone. At check out, a lady was in the bistro, she saw us, and then ducked in the back to continue chatting with other staff. The locks on our room door wouldn't work. So it would take 5-6 attempts to actually have the key engage the lock. I've only needed ice from a hotel once in 3 years of constant travel. This time, the time that I needed it, there was no ice. All in all a poor representation. I will not be staying here again.

We stayed in a suite and it was very nice and spacious. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. When we made requests they were very quick to respond and meet our needs. The only downside is that a continental breakfast isn't available. They do provide breakfast, just at an additional cost ($12). Overall stay was great.
