Being platinum elite has its benefits. I stayed in the top floor corner 1 bedroom suite. It was nice and spacious. The staff was friendly and welcoming.
Nice quiet location, environment was very comfortable and well kept with a super convenient Starbucks downstairs
Staff are friendly and accomodating. Room was not completely ready when we checked in, but it was a simple matter of asking staff to fix.
Good size room with hbo, and a refrigerator. There was also a Keurig inside the room. There was a pool and an outside lounging area; neither of which I used as I was only there for the night. There's a Starbucks inside for those who'd prefer it over the Keurig in the room. Would stay here again.
Close to 805 freeway. Food court right across the street. Slightly small, yet adequate room. No bed bugs. Mini fridge in the room. Interior seems recently renovated. Friendly staff. Price somewhat higher during weekdays, but lower on Fridays, possibly because most guests are business travelers.
Great location that is 15 minutes away from wherever you need to be. Easy access to Interstate 5 and 805, as well as the Sorrento Valley train station. Nice pool. The hot tub is indoors, next to the fitness center.
The lobby is very and modern. The courtyard has nice fire pits and a pretty ambiance at night. The halls and rooms seem clean but average. The cooling system in the rooms are aggressively blowing even on the low setting and very loud.
We have been staying at this property for many years. They are accommodating and helpful. The lobby and courtyard are comfortable to sit and eat or work. So far (8/14/2017) parking is free. They will begin charging for parking in September of 2017.
The experience certainly exceeded expectations. The rooms were not too expensive. The bed was comfortable, and the food wasn't bad. Would definitely recommend to a friend
Called ahead to make a request since we were traveling with a baby. We arrived an hour after check in and still had to wait another half hour for our room to be ready. No comps or additional comforts offered, which I thought was kinda cold. Especially since we now needed to keep our son comfortable, feed him, and change him elsewhere. Anyway, aside from the mildew smell coming out of the AC, the rooms were nice, and the facilities are great for people traveling with family. A bit off the beaten path, but really calm and quiet at night.
Great rooms- very spacious doubles. Outdoor atmosphere is wonderful poolside or by the lounging areas. Housekeeping is very professional. Free wifi is surprisingly fast.
The room is too small and do not have in house microwave but a fridge. I booked it for a week but I have to leave it in between as it's too small too for a week. But the breakfast package here is a good one. Starbucks is present so good morning coffees. Room service is pretty good, I was looked ASA I called front desk.
We came in from Anaheim, after visiting Disneyland. We were here for one night to continue our Spring Break venture in S.D. before heading back to scorching, hot, Arizona.
I was sitting in the rental, and I heard a female voice asking my hubby if he needed help with unloading our suitcases, and belongings onto the luggage cart. I found out, it was Amber, from the front desk. She was very helpful and pleasant. I thought it was kind of weird at first, but whatever. Great hospitality!
We walked inside, and Amber explained to us that their key card system was down, which meant we could not come and go, without asking someone from the front desk to let us into our room or into the pool and other areas. They also had a lot of people checking in with lots of kids from baseball teams, gymnastics, etc Which meant it was super, extra, noisy and chaotic! Whatever, it was 'Spring Break' for us too. No big deal!
We went out for dinner, and had to ask someone to let us back into our room, when we got back. It was somewhat awkward, like we were bugging them, even though they were busy; but they were very cordial. Only problem we had was calling the front desk to ask for someone to let us into the pool area, which they said someone would let us in, but no one ever came to let us in.
The next morning my hubby went downstairs for breakfast and juice for our party of 5. Amber comped all of our meals, rather than just two, for all the inconvenience we experienced.
Not only Amber, but her Supervisor, Ms. Dominique and Ms. Jordan also at the front desk, were all responsible for the awesome hospitality we received at this particular Marriott location.
We would definitely return here again! They are all about hospitality, and customer service!! The rooms were great!
Didn't get the room I reserved. I am an elite member with their rewards program and at check in everything was going great. Got to the room and it was not what I had reserved. Went back to the front desk to change rooms, no big deal. This is when I find out that they no longer had any rooms that met my reservation status left. Apparently earlier that day the toilet broke in it. It was the only one left in the sold out hotel. Their Ultimate Reservation Guarantee states that if you are not honored with the room you reserved they will put you up at another local hotel. It took me an hour talking with customer service to tell me that it looks like my reservation changed earlier that day (at check in without my knowledge) and they would email the manager. Long story shorter, all I received was 1000 points and the manager saying sorry. That 1000 and another 55000 and I might be able to get myself a pair of sunglasses from their point store. I don't know what being an elite member means to them, but apparently it isn't much. Very dissapointed and will probably switch rewards programs since a headache isn't much of a reward.
The hotel is located in a business area with very few nearby restaurants and shops. The hotel itself is OK, fairly comfortable and sufficiently clean. The front desk staff at check-in unfamiliar with the area (could not tell me if I the area is walkable), and the front desk staff at check-out could not send me my receipt by email (not uncommonit's only happened instantaneously twice, and usually I have to call back --- but you'd think Marriott could do better: I've called back and am still waiting). Because the hotel is at such an isolated location with few options, it charges a pretty penny at the in-hotel restaurant and the store ($3 for a small bottle of water?! -- McDonalds about two big blocks away charges half as much for the same bottle of water, BTW). I was able to walk to my meeting & had dinner at the saddest food court nearby. If you have business there and you are not too tired to drive far for dinner & get your snacks, this place is fine.
