We recently stayed at the Courtyard Pentagon South in Alexandria. The room that we originally were given had a problem with the heating. We called the front desk to let them know. Mohamed, the director of engineering personally came to our room to check out the problem. He quickly decided that he heater could not be repaired on the spot so he made arrangements with the Edna at the front desk to move us to another room. I cannot say enough positive things about how they handled our problem. They upgraded our room to a suite that was very spacious and everything worked. The people that we dealt with during our stay were the most friendly, courteous and professional. They took care of every need we had. The 4 people that stand out in our minds for recognition are Mohammed, Edna, the young lady that checked us in with the million dollar smile (never got her name, shame on me) and Mauna, the young lady working the counter at the Bistro. All are Top Shelf customer service professionals. Hats off to Courtyard Marriott Pentagon South. We will be back to Washington and when we do we will stay at Courtyard Marriott Pentagon South.
Didn't stay there but did briefly speak to a woman on staff. There was just 1 checking person and she was occupied so I didn't interrupt. Soon a lady with curly long hair asked what I needed. She had me repeat myself multiple times and didn't know the word him from the word her. She spoke Spanish and I understand she won't know every word, but commit yourself to learning basic English if you have a customer service role, please. Oh and she acted blatantly annoyed when I laughed lightly after having to answer her about 3 times (just a hint of laughter as I gave the answer again hopefully more clearly; not with rude comments).
I had a late night check in (past midnight) and the front desk guy was awesome. He was helpful and put me right into my room. The room was clean and tidy. The breakfast was delicious with good options. The airport shuttle was fast and the driver was very personable and funny. Would definitely stay again if I'm in the area.
The room was clean when we arrived. The shower drained very slowly overall but had fantastic water pressure. The Bistro downstairs had some tasty options for snacks and a meal. The staff were understanding of unexpected delays in returning following the Marine Corps Marathon.
Excellent stay! Close to Reagan International and the hotel provides free shuttle service. On site bar and restaurant and there are several other dining options eithin a short driving distance.
24 hour 7 Eleven, Aldi, Planet Fitness and a pizza shop directly across the street. Two blocks from 395 N and S ramps.
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Be prepared for a $21 a night self-parking charge if you drive.
Room was clean, and the bathrooms were ADA compliant. It always seems like the handicap accessible rooms are slightly further away from the elevator, but maybe that's just coincidence. The air conditioning worked well, the room was aesthetically pleasing and quiet. All in all, a good night's sleep.
Wonderful experience. Staff very friendly and helpful. Gave us directions to get there and to destinations. Loved the indoor pool and hot tub. Got Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner. Pay a little extra and get the breakfast and parking package. In the end, you save about $9 on getting them separately. Only complaints are ice machine on our floor did not work and it did not seem that we could control the room temperature but it could be just that we did not know how.
Slightly below average stay, rooms were probably renovated about 5-7 years ago. My three biggest complaints were the room temperature, shower, and punctuality and friendliness of the staff.
The room's thermostat could not be set lower than 65 however I would be surprised if the room ever got below 75 degrees and the hallways were closer to 80. I woke up in a pool of my own sweat twice. Overall not very restful sleep.
The shower had good water pressure, however the water didn't drain faster than the water coming in and I was standing in a pool of water after about five minutes. I don't know if it's because the drain was clogging or because the drain couldn't keep up with the high water pressure?
The staff was very professional, however I don't think I saw a smile from any of the staff members throughout my whole stay. I also used the hotel's airport shuttle and it left 6 minutes late and the driver was audibly upset with the traffic, certainly not the most professional.
Overall the location is suburban and fairly quiet and it wasn't a terrible stay, however I'll certainly pay the extra $30 to stay at a newer property in crystal city next time.
It was a pretty nice hotel. Had all the usual amenities. I would stay here again
The lady from the front desk (Edna) made our first impression outstanding. Such a great customer service talent is not easy to find. Everything seemed wonderful after that.
Also, we have stayed many times at 5 star hotels and this is the first time when we asked for a refrigerator in the room and Edna made that happen in a record time.
IThis was a very good hotel stay. My family of 4 were comfortable and we had no be complaints. I would definitely stay here again. The room was nice, very spacious. The breakfast that was included in our price was adequate; not amazing, but hotel breakfast is mostly about convenience anyway. One note: the hallway to our room made me think we may have made a bad decision. That where the building shows its age, and there wasn't any A/C. But once we went in the room we all were satisfied. Again, I'd stay again and recommend this hotel to anyone.
Overall a convenient stay. Room is not appealing to the eye but the bed was comfortable and from the 10th floor I had a good view into the city. Getting to the city was a quick trip as well. They have a shuttle to the airport and other local hangouts. Food was okaypricey (as hotels usually are). I only ate there for breakfast once. Since I was here for a convention (this was the overflow hotel), parking was only $8/day but it's like $21/day normally. My wife has higher standards and I know she wouldn't want to stay here so I wouldn't come back with the family. Also, no fridge or microwave in the room.
Overall my stay was pleasant. Staff was nice. When my fiancé and I first walked in our room it had a odor but after a while it went away. Our room didn't have a microwave so we asked one of the cleaners about it and he brought us one up to our room. Also one of our pillows had a pen cap in it so not really sure if they changed the pillowcases but they weren't stained or smelled. We had to go back to the front desk because we kept having problems with our key to the room. We didn't pay for parking because it was an additional $21.00 which is ridiculous. Breakfast was good. When we first went downstairs to eat you could tell the food had been sitting out for a long period of time but when the fresh food was cooked it was good. I would stay here again its very convenient to the city.
