One of the WORST emergency room for the children to go visit. Its a nightmare for the children to go through. The patient will die before even the doctor see these children. The waiting period is about 6to 8 hours before you see a doctor. The front lobby nurse will check the children vital sign and temparature for at least 5 to 6 times before the doctor can be seen no matter what situation is the child is in. I have seen it with my own eyes. My advise is to do not take your children in this emergency room unless its a life threatning situation. Even then good luck.

I had to take my daughter to the ER at Northwell on a Saturday at 3am. Our experience there was amazing! The staff was caring, thoughtful, professional and thorough. I was confident in the care my daughter received during a most stressful situation. I would highly recommend the emergency room at Northwell!!! Thank you to all who helped us!

Worst ER ever! Waited 4 hours to be seen by a doctor who couldn't even give us clear answer totally unqualified doctors run by young intern doctors. we were there around 8:30pm till 1:30 we struggled. What bothers me most is They only care about typing in all the info into the computer its all about what they are typing in making it look like they are actually doing something when in reality they have not helped ur child recover or diagnose the child in any shape of form. U will only be interviewed by countless nurses asking the same question what's wrong with the child for 4 hours or longer. We walked out at 2 AM after talking to a nurse Manager Jenny (south Asian) lady who kept explaining to me how they operate & argue. She lied saying there is 6 doctor in reality I think there were 1-2 doctors who was seeing over 20 patients at the same time!!! Obviously u ain't doing it right people are here with sick children. You are making us waste our time and money to be seen by a doctor who isn't professional or well qualified & NOT by nurses who is only filling up info into the computer! Seriously hire more doctors. the worst experience EVER!

The emergency room was great you had your own private room and was served dinner while you are waiting. We were seen in a timely manner and they went above and beyond to figure out what was wrong. Thank you Cohen staff!!

If your child has tooth decay, READ THIS.
We came to LIJ Pediatric dental dept because of their great reputation. Our son had a bad case of tooth decayed. We had been to several local dentists and no one was able to help us. They all told us that he needed a specialist and they all recommended LIJ. Here are the pros and cons of our experience.
Pros- The female dentist was very professional, sweet with our son, answered all of our questions, we didn’t feel rushed. Se did an excellent job removing our son four front teeth. The procedure was quick and she made him feel as comfortable as she possibly could. We were very happy the way she treated our son. She made a hard procedure for a small child the best she could.
Cons- The female dental assistant that took x-rays looked like she didn’t want to be bothered. As concerned parents we were nervous and didn’t know what to expect. Even before meeting the dentist she was telling us that they would have to remove all his teeth. She was cold with our son and was strictly there to do her job. After our son procedure she applied the gauze to his bleeding gums and as my four year old cried from pain and confusion she told him “don’t play with it bite down.” I was very upset when I heard that. He’s scared, confuse and crying! He’s not playing with the gauze! What’s wrong with that lady?! People like that shouldn’t be working with children. Its clear she doesn’t want to deal with small children.
The dentist informed us that the six cavities our son had would all have to be removed. She said that they don’t bother trying to save the teeth when the children are so small they just removed the teeth. The procedure would take place in the operating room. We wouldn’t be allowed to be present and the head dentist would make the decision as to what tooth goes and what stays.
We were very setup with what we were hearing. We thought that we were in the best place for our son but this was the solution we were given. Clearly we weren’t going to put our son through that. We continued our search for a dentist that was willing to save our son teeth. It took us a year later but we finally found one on Park Avenue that helped us. I’m happy to report that our son six teeth have been saved. We didn’t have to put in through the operating room and the whole procedure took less then two hours.
It is clear that LIJ pediatric dentistry is not that best! It’s all about medical claims and not the children. Insurance companies pay more for a surgery in the OR then a dental procedure in an office setting. Do your research and don’t put your children through that.

I am actually in the hospital now for the first time and would highly recommend to any parents looking for the best care for their children.I came from another ER hospital who did an EXRay for my son's arm that showed fracture bone they had mentioned that might highly need a surgery we said that we wanted to take another openion.we immediately did a quick search and found this hospital on the internet. stuff, reception and doctors were very nice and professional took a good care of my son.God bless them all they helped ease my own worries for my son and diagnosed the condition in a timely manner.very thankful

Very good hospital center. We came in about 1am they gave him his own private room in ER and not only that the rooms were equipped with Xbox n TV ! The doctors were awesome ! Answered my questions Really took there time to find out what was wrong with him.showed how genuinely they are. There's no other hospital center I would take my child to Then here.Thank you Cohen's staff !

My son was transferred here from another hospital to treat broken bone. When we arrived they received us well but it took so long to address the issue and never even get to see the senior Doctor. He sent his assistant, who don't know what she was doing. She put the arm sling wrong way. I had to re do it myself. Other then that nurse are very nice. Food is really good.

This is the worst experience in ER. We were here at 9 pm. Waited till12:50am to actually see the doctor for the first time for my daughters head injury. Then the doctor was here for 15 minutes then she walked out. Now we are waiting again. And it's another 1 hr wait and more. At this efficiency, I wonder how do you keep your patients alive? It's called an emergency room for gods sake. Avoid at all cost!

I have read many of the bad reviews and I am sorry for those families who experience was not so great, my child has been coming to this hospital for 8 years and it is one of the best children hospital I have been to. The staffs, ranging from house cleaning to food servers are amazing, I leave my son and go to work, and when I get back to him, he tells me about his amazing day with the nurses, child life, teachers, phlebotomist,down to the lady who came to serve him his food., they are amazing group of people.

Eight years ago I had my bone marrow transplant there. They made me feel at home. All the doctors treating me like your own child. The procedure was flawless. They handled everything very well. If I had to go back.

Six months ago my son was sent to this hospital because he was having a really hard time breathing the emergency room stuff was amazing. My son had to be intubated that was very hard to see but they was so supportive they make it easy for me to get through it. My son almost die and because of this hospital my son is alive today so yes this hospital is amazing and I will definitely will take my Son there in the future. May God bless all of you at this hospital.
