Nice rooms and had a nice breakfast and sitting area, I attended a convention at the alliant energy center and it was very convenient being connected so we didn't have to leave the heat in the winter. The hotel also opened up a number of their conference rooms for our use while we were there and they were all well kept and maintained. If rooms at this hotel are available next year I will likely stay here again.

Except for the occasional door slam at 1 in the morning it was great. I especially like the staff member who greeted us and then stayed with us on Saturday night to make sure that everything was okay. Every time that we were on that floor we were greeted by her and told what the hotel offered. I would definitely come back here. Even the guests were friendly.

Easy location to find, just off the highway. It's a short drive to other amenities, nothing is terribly close aside from the attached convention center. Breakfast is excellently stocked and fresh. Loved the fresh pineapple and yogurt selection. Workers there are probably amongst the friendliest I've encountered. Our room, a king with a pullout, was spacious and in good repair. The appliances (fridge and microwave) aren't new but they all were very clean and worked well.

Apparently we were charged twice for our stay (it shows up twice on our bank account) without being told by the staff. I called back to ask about the mistake and the staff who answered said "Oh yeah, you were charged twice accidentally but you were also refunded immediately. It might take several days for the refund to show up though." I still have not seen a refund in my bank account and I'm appalled that when I was "accidentally charged twice" the staff person didn't even tell me! I had to call and find out that my money will be unavailable for several days because of a mistake by the staff. It wouldn't be such a big deal to me if the staff person had been honest with me when the mistake took place, but I feel deceived and disrespected by the lack of honesty or communication about the issue when it happened.

I work for one of the branches of a nearby business to the Clarion and has to come to Madison for some training. I LOVE staying at the Clarion for my time in Madison! The staff is always friendly, the social hour is fabulous and the breakfast is phenomenal! Thank you for the great stay and I'll see you next time!

Our family of five (plus grandparents) enjoyed a three-night stay here in connecting rooms: a one-bedroom suite and regular room. The room configuration was great for visiting and sleeping (everyone slept until 8am the first morning, which is great when traveling with young kids). The pool and spa were a big hit, as was the tasty breakfast buffet. My parents enjoyed the free happy hour, and other than a somewhat weak wifi signal the whole stay was great. The staff were friendly and professional. We'll definitely return if in the area again!

We booked a room at the Clarion for a wedding. We were driving in from Milwaukee for a 3:00 wedding. I noticed that check- in time was also listed at 3:00. When I booked the room, I called the hotel to specifically ask if we could check-in early so that we could get ready for the wedding in the room rather than wearing our formal clothes for the longer car ride. I was assured that would be no problem. The night before our arrival, I called the hotel to request the early check-in. The desk attendant told me they could not guarantee that and to try again in the morning. As requested, I called in the morning, on our way to the hotel. Again, I was rudely told they could not guarantee anything. Upon our arrival at the hotel about 2:00 pm, the desk attendant flatly told me there were no rooms available. I asked if there was anywhere we could change for the wedding and the attendant guestuted that we could use the hall public restroom. My husband and I were shocked that the hotel could not accommodate this simple request or perhaps put a room aside for us when one came available after being cleaned, after the first two times I had called. The condition of the room was clean, but dated and plain. However, based on the lack of service, I would actually recommend friends avoid this hotel in the future.

Very nice hotel. We had a 2 Queen suite, it was very nice & clean. The hotel was easy to get to, and downtown Madison is easy to get to from there. I would absolutely stay there again. I thought the price was very reasonable as well. Also seemed very kid friendly.

The help desk lady was helpful and friendly, letting us know a couple things about house in the rock. The room was nice and spacious, and the buffet was awesome compared to the normal buffet that other hotels offer; it was both fully stocked and had more variety. Would definitely stay here again and will be actively checking out Clarion Suites in the future.

Top notch hotel! Staff are exceptional everytime I stay here. I have stayed here 4 times for work and it has always been perfect. Rooms are clean and spacious. Small kitchenette, couch, desk, table.etc Plenty of room for multiple people. Great breakfast, nightcaps with snacks. Love this place. They should be the model for how a hotel should be! AAA++++

Kathy and all of the staff at the front desk and throughout the entire hotel from housekeeping to your morning breakfast make you feel so at home. I can't imagine staying anywhere else when I am in Madison on business or pleasure. It's just like being at home because they make it so fun. They are so helpful and friendly and their breakfast is very good for a free breakfast at the hotel I think it's one of the best they always have the TVs on so you can watch sports or whatever you would like any time and the most important thing is that I love that the swimming pool and Jacuzzi area are open late because most hotels which I could never understand close at like 9 o'clock or 10 o'clock and I am a business traveler some times I don't arrive until late so I believe they are open till 11 or midnight to take a Jacuzzi and they have a great Jacuzzi and their whole pool area is really nice it's very creatively done very comfortable always fresh towels nice bathrooms always clean and they have a good private business office where you can go off by yourself and do some work they always have coffee available and they have a nice vending machine for late at night
I have always loved Clarion suites anyway because for the very fair price you still feel like you are staying at an upper scale hotel us women love the fact they have vanities for all of your make up and stuff like that the rooms are always impeccably clean and the house keeping people are very flexible and very kind and always do a good job and they don't bother you if you have the do not disturb sign on which sometimes I'm sure you have experienced at other hotels that sometimes they just ignore that.
The only thing that I would love that could make it completely perfect to see if they had a bellman but sometimes when I've had to come to an event or I have a lot of luggage with me somebody will still help me get my stuff to the car but they always have carts available and there sweets are just great especially for the price and they're right next door to the Alliant energy Center for advanced that you or your family might want to attend.
And of course back to the end of the review to say about Cathy again.. half the time business women travelers aren't always taking special care of like men sometimes are but not at this hotel at this hotel Cathy will take great care of you she will make sure everything is right for you all the girls there are terrific and the guys that work there everyone behind the desk is five star every morning when you go to breakfast every single person that works in that kitchen is accommodating and friendly and they make a very good breakfast you can tell that they put a personal touch to everything I just can't say enough about this place because even though it's not the four seasons you can count on great service for every seasonresponse / report this review
