A nice hotel. Very long hallways, longer than I have ever experienced at a non-hospital facility. Like all nice hotels, everything costs extra. If you're the sort of person for whom money has no meaning, this does not matter; for most people, make sure to join Marriott Rewards so you can have Internet without paying extra.
Very friendly staff, was positively surprised by welcoming gift bag and handwritten note. Room was renovated, small, however contained all necessary amenities. Had water view which was very pretty. Very conveniently located. Would definitely choose this hotel again.
I have stayed here several years in a row now for the same event. My previous stays have been more pleasant. This year, the shuttle drivers were not available at the time that I needed a ride from the train station, and on my departure day, the driver was almost 30 minutes late to start his shift. This nearly caused me to be late for my flight. Our room was fine, however, despite the new and improved bathrooms, the doors were faulty by design, leaking water out of the sliding doors, and later, found out that it leaked onto the carpet next to the bed. My things were wet, and fortunately, not damaged. My ratings would have been lower if I had damaged things. Upon reporting this to the staff, the was nothing they could do to remedy the leak, and it wasn't a big deal. They unfortunately did not try to compensate anything by even giving me some points for the inconvenience. So that interaction was a little sour. Before the microwave used to be by the Starbucks, but this time was behind the hotel registration desk and you have to request to get food heated.
Staff couldn't be better - incredibly friendly, accommodating, helpful, etc. The rooms are nice, clean, the bathrooms are very nice as well. It would be really great if they had a hot tub or actual bathtubs in the bathrooms only because typically when I'm at that particular hotel I'm doing hours of partner dancing & teaching & it would be nice to sit and soak. The only other downside was that when we asked for an extra blanket (I ended up with the flu & was extremely cold & couldn't turn the heat on as it would have caused problems for my roommate), all we got was a very thin, old blanket. But I always love this hotel, & the clam chowder at their restaurant is amazing!
Some of the rooms on the first floor are right on the bank of the Charles river. This makes for excellent views right from your room. The furnishings in the rooms are adequate, and the beds are comfy. However, the only bone I have to pick is that the hotel is quite far from downtown Boston. And there simply not enough dining options on site, or nearby, for that matter.
Very pleasant hotel. Older facility but nicely redone. Rooms have a richly textured feel and comfortable furnishings. Convenient to 128 businesses, but don't be fooled by the relatively short distance. This is NOT Boston. At rush hour it is 45 minutes from downtown. If you need to be in Newton, Waltham, or points near, this is a venerable hotel with sumptuous feeling rooms, though.
This is the 2nd time I've been here. This time was for a quick quick stop to grab some food. The bar area and lounge area are quite impressive. Clean and well staffed. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves thoroughly. There was even a tiny Starbucks inside.
We had a reunion of campers from a summer camp i went to. It was held in a semi private room. That was my only complaint. It would have been better if the room was able to be closed off. The brunch buffet was included and that was excellent, they had a great variety of food and a omelette bar.
My wife and I recently had our wedding with 400 people at Marriott Newton and it was such an amazing experience! Our event planner, Nicole was incredibly professional throughout the entire process from the planning of the actual event to the execution of the wedding itself.
The wedding itself was perfect in every way possible and with the new renovations, the entire ballroom hall looked very beautiful for the actual wedding event. I highly recommend planning a wedding or your next major event at this location as you will be treated right and Nicole will take care of you and make sure your event is executed perfectly!!
The 1st night of our 4 night stay. We went out for dinner, came back to a bad sewage smell. I called the front desk and her response was to call back in the morning. Next morning I went down to to front desk to ask for someone to look at the room due to sewage odor, she said to come back in a half hour, we will send someone up. When I returned, the front desk women said our engineer didn't smell anything. So I went back to my room to find a strong perfume scent and 2 machines on the counter running in the bathroom. I went back to the desk again and they told me I shouldn't be in the room while the ozone machine was running. I let she and her supervisor know that I flew out here to work and booked this room for that purpose, that they should have asked me permission before they threw me out of the room. I was told to leave again while they take the ozone machine out or I can get another room. Due to the poor service and unhealthy environment, we will choose another hotel chain even though we have silver status.
All the staff is super friendly and the room is so clean and beautiful. The gym is awesome (24hrs) and the pool was indoor and heated. It was near enough to Boston downtown by train and other small towns nearby that were so fun. Would return.
plesant stay. clean and spacious rooms, good customer service. I would have liked to see a compost trash can in the facility/room. The pools needs to be warmer and ideally the jets should work at all times. would recommend to others.
Nothing really to report. Has the level of quality I expect to find at a Marriott hotel when it comes to room and service. The on premise restaurant was acceptable, but didn't have much in the way of food not swimming in grease. Again, relatively standard fair for a hotel dining experience. I would recommend in the summer as the hotel is situated next to a lake and makes for some really nice views.
Room service food was good! Pasta with sausage and chips with salsa. Room itself is kind of small compared to other Marriots I've stayed at for cheaper. Rug of the room felt pretty humid and icky, due to humidity so can't be controlled. But it would be nice to have a way to fix this, like a dehumidifier.
The Marriott was very clean and well taken care of. The rooms were splendid and it was great because they had a hot tub. I always enjoy going there because it never lets me and my family down by it's great rooms, service, organization and much more!
