Even though the wine tasting had a queue of about 50 people, it took less than 10 minutes to be led to one of the many bars in the room. Our server knew quite a bit about the white and red wines of the Biltimore winery.
We got to sample 6 different wines - the combined equivalent of a full glass. Just relaxed enough to go through the store afterwards, sampling tasty dips and sauces, and then buying a couple of bottles of wine.
I've attached a picture of what you would see every time you tip your glass upwards.
Great place, great visit, especially with the snow. Three problems that keep from giving a 5. Purchased valet parking- it was cancelled. Getting out - they run you all around the total facility, needing at least an extra 15 minutes to exit. Getting in - there was 1 person directing folks to where they can park and that valet parking was cancelled. Backed up entry at least a mile, adding over 30 minutes to get to the mansion.
I love this place. There are benefits of being a wine club member. Unpretentious, friendly, and knowledgeable staff always make my visit enjoyable. Very comfortable chairs. Great wine that is only sold on the grounds Not available at Ingles!
A great addition to your Biltmore visit. Enjoy the wine tasting along with several restaurants and shops to compliment your visit to the Estate. We found the wine selection to be variable, though many of the non-NC vintages were very nice. Look for the Limited Reserve offerings, especially those from the outside vineyards.
We are annual pass holders and come frequently. Our server tonight, Vicki was a great conversationalist as well as a true wine connoisseur! We were impressed and welcomed by her service! She even convinced us to sign up for the wine club at the first of the year!
Below is a pick of the new wine bar!!
Love the wine selection!. We had an amazing time!🍷🍷🍷
See the estate skip the winery. One of the least enjoyable tastings bartenders overwhelmed and unable to describe product. Production line atmosphere. Enjoy!
The atmosphere and wine are incredible! I enjoy going to this winery as well as the extensive property attached.
Nice selection of wines! Sure tasting was a very nice and pleasant experience. Charles our bartender was amazing! Liked many he suggested
Good selection of wine related household items
Very helpful, let us sample several varieties of wine. Helped us find something we liked. No sparkling wine on the free sample list, however.
The Cardinal's Crest was very good
Nice shop & customer service A+
Amazing part of the Biltmore trip is the wine tasting, what an amazing server we had that gave us amazing pointers and shared her honest thoughts and helped us figure out which wines to try.
On site tons of shops to go to as well and a lot of wine choices!!!
Our wine tasting server Charles was awesome. His recommendations were excellent. We were never rushed and he was knowledgeable about the wines and surrounding area. The Savignon Blanc reserve was off the chain. If you like red blends, the Cardinal`s Crest was outstanding. We also enjoyed the Syrah. Love the tunnel leading to the tasting room. Felt like we were in a wine cellar.
I think it's really crappy you have to pay $50 per person to have access to the winery. We visited the house last year but didn't have time to get to the winery. On a recent trip to Asheville we wanted to go to the winery but found out the hard way you can't get to it unless you have tickets to see the house. Definitely not paying $100 per couple for wine tasting. Definitely disappointed I'll probably never visit the winery.
Great place to taste the wines made by the Biltmore Estates. Large selection on wines, wine products, kitchen supplies and more. The people working there are very helpful and willing to answer all your questions.
