Great local hotel and apartment building. Good place to see some of the newest artists and overnight success stories.
The location, decor, and appearance of a luxury hotel may fool you but this hotel has some serious flaws. An honest look:
Pros:
1. Make up vanity with lights
2. Robes and slippers
3. Firm bed soft pillows
4. Street parking vs. Self parking $40/night
5. Manager Colie receptive to customer suggestiins/complaints
6. Lit up privacy/maid buttons
7. Heated pool
8. Rooms with huge square footage
9. On site spa restaurant fitness ctr
Cons:
1. Living room tv very small, far from couch and bedroom large tv.
2. Full kitchen has only 1 pan and 1 skillet. Unlike Homewood suites and other hotel chains, there is no baking sheets or ovens are for the oven in the kitchen. No paper towels, washcloth, towel or dish soap is provided.
3. Internet is very slow but they are quick to offer an upgrade for money.
4. Kleenex brand tissues are available but cheap toilet paper like seen in public restrooms
5. Unlike modern hotels there are no plugs at bedside to charge mobiles
6. Parking entry/exit is same and only 1 car at a time. Instead of updated room key u must insert after lifting plastic flap. Entrance angle and parking card insertion are very inaccessible
7. Creepy stuffed Santa in lobby
8. If no parking spots in 1 garage choose another but it requires 2 elevators to reach floor 4
9. Hotel employee entered room with privacy light lit. Barged In
The manager was very receptive and listened to various suggestions and issues. The hotel room decor and furniture need a makeover, which I am told is in progress but it will take time.
Friendly staff and good location. Rooms were clean but slightly dated. Whirlpool was broken
Looks good, doesn’t feel good.
1) Bathroom has a broken lightbulb and one bathrobe and it took forever to get the second (had to ask three people).
2) Only a couple of plugs to charge devices in inconvenient places, unless you want to unplug the lamps.
3) We were told we could get a room on the top floor to avoid people making noise above us only to find out that there is another floor higher.
3) IDIOTIC PARKING. There are two entrances that fit one car at a time and are also used as exits. This is really stupid if you’re trying to enter while someone is leaving because there isn’t room! They charge you $40/night to park there. The key card machine to enter the lot does not stick out and it is quite a struggle to reach and then lift the plastic flap to finally put in the key, which didn’t even work. When we called and finally entered the lot, the security guard came down to ask us our room number like we were criminals without even saying hello. That was really unnecessary especially since we had to go to the desk to replace the keys.
4) To be clear, we got key cards 3 times for only 2 nights because they kept disabling them for no apparent reason.
5) It’s a nice place if you’re looking for a pool and an old style room. Instead of trying to maintain a classic decor, why not throw out the stereo from the 90’s and keep the outdated fax machine in the computer/business room? Maybe think about remodeling or becoming more of a modern hotel.
6) It is a maze to get to the coy pond/jacuzzi. You would think a hotel would want that to be more accessible to guests.
7) Have to use 1 out of 2 of their car garages because only some elevators go up to our floor. If we cannot find parking, we have to take an elevator up, walk around to get to another elevator, and then get to the room.
8) Smoke free hotel, which is understandable. When i asked if there was a designated smoking area, they said I could smoke outside the lobby. When I got there, they said I couldn’t smoke there and kicked me to the sidewalk where there’s two ashtrays hidden in the bushes. Maybe they should try not to be cheap and invest in one goddamn smoke-post. Maybe I’m over exaggerating, but it was scary smoking so close to the street and thinking that a drunk driver could go over the curb and hit me.
9) No laundry room.
10) They wrote their amenities on here wrong. It says no pool when they do have one.
11) THE WORST WIFI out of all the hotels i’ve stayed in worldwide!!!!
I stayed at plaza hotel for a few days while I recovered after my surgery. I had called them in advanced to notify them that my mother would be checking in early as I will be coming OF of surgery earlier than 4pm. They were able to accommodate the time which was very important. The room was surprising Large. Like an apartment. The cost of the hotel was cheap in comparison to what you are actually getting. Staff was kind and friendly. There was a house keeper by the name of Rosa that had stopped by to check on the room. Seeing me alone at the moment and needing help to get out of bed she was incredibly helpful. The place is pretty quiet and cute. I definitely recommend this hotel.
This is a beautiful property with a quiet, boutique atmosphere and large (for LA) rooms. This hotel has fantastic service, and I will be back.
The location and the facility is aesthetically beautiful. The employees are so nice and pretty. My face looks so beautiful and the treatments work. Lastly, the employees are always giving out discounts for treatments.
Was in a junior suite. Very nice. Has all amenities including stove and microwave. One bedroom suites to a pool courtyard. Really gorgeous.
Wow! So the Hotel was beautiful as was the staff! I enjoyed every moment! The room was a good size and very clean and it was near to all the shopping areas. I can't wait to go back to Los Angeles I definitely recommend staying at the Beverly Hills Plaza the rates were reasonable as well.
So luxurious and fancy! It has Beverly Hills written all over! Beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are amazing. Pillows could be better. Love the fresh flowers in the lobby. Reasonable prices midweek if you call the hotel directly.
Nice staff, comfortable atmosphere & I like the southern Cali style
Friendly staff. An older hotel with upgrades , well kept. Located in great area, close to restaurants, shopping and entertainment
Booked and paid for our room on Expedia and arrived at 10:30PM to check in with a check out the next morning. For whatever reason, Expedia transmitted that we had only two adults when we had booked a room with two adults & two children. The room that was reserved had only a queen so that room would not work for us. The staff at the front desk said that they had a larger room where they could put two roll away beds. The upgrade for the larger room was $100 and the roll away beds were $30/each. Sohere I am in the lobby of this hotel .dead tired.being told that to stay here, I would have to pay an additional $160 (again for less than a 12 hour stay). The staff at the front desk were not flexible to find a solution that would worksay complementary room upgradethen charge us for the roll away beds.nothing.I asked since we can't get to a resolution, can we just cancel the reservation and we will move on. I was told that since it was non-cancelable reservation and they didn't make a mistake, they would not allow us to cancel. While I would agree that this is technically correct, it isn't customer friendly especially when we are dead tired in the lobby with two children who are looking to just go to sleep. It felt like extortion. The front desk staff failed to (nor did I think they cared to) create a WOW moment. The front desk kept saying they didn't have the authority to do anything to help us except charge us the additional $160. My son and I looked at the rooms and they did smell musty and old. By the time I came back down to the lobby, my wife was on the phone with Expedia and we knew we couldn't stay there as we were feeling much unappreciated. Again, the front desk kept saying they already have our payment from Expedia so they didn't feel compelled to get creative and help us. I am guessing they missed the class on hospitality 101. Long story shortwe were so disgusted, we decided to potentially eat the night we paid Expedia (and fight that fight when we are better rested) and booked at the Avalon Hotel which is down the street. We will contact Expedia and recommend they stop selling the inventory of this property.
Charming, very accomodating staff. Lovely inside courtyard with koi pond. Quiet. Renovated room with big bathroom and soaking tub. Cozy restaurant serves tasty dinners. Nice kitchenette and clean. Dtsff serves chocolates in afternoon.
