Called them about a week in advance to make a reservation. We show up and they didn't have it in their system. Luckily, we were still able to get the room we wanted, and the front desk worker was very apologetic. Very nice room, decent pool and fitness room, and a pretty good continental breakfast too. Overall a good experience.
Nice hotel with great breakfast. The pool is a plus. This is the second Thanksgiving weekend spent in Kalamazoo at thos hotel. My wife's grandfather lives very close, so the proximity is a great draw. Additionally, the rooms are perfect for a family of 5. We get the suite which has two queen beds and a pullout sofa. It's perfect.
This year was a little disappointing due to the noise level in the hotel. Both Thursday and Friday night there were multiple rooms with loud music and loud people. I cam only assume the size of the rooms are good for party crowds as well as parents. I did call down to the front desk both nights and it seemed to be handled, but just the overall issue will cause me to look for other accommodations next year.
The Best Western Plus is in need of a make over. My suite was dark and very, very dusty. I always wipe down everything as well as bright green my own sheets and blankets. Never again!
very professional and accommodating staff, breakfast was better than what most other hotels offer, and the fitness center, hot tub and pool were great. definitely will be my first choice when I visit kalamazoo, the location is close to everything. plus the price is better than reasonable
As always very nice for the price. Breakfast was the same both days so limited on hot foods. Pancake machine not working. They were painting out side so a bit of a mess. One side exit door glass broken so could only exit our end of building but could not enter. Room was large and clean. Over all will return again.
Really nice hotel. Great hospitality from the staff. Very clean and very comfortable beds. I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area.
The hotel is very nice. Well taken care of. Breakfast in the mornings are very good and plentiful. Would definitely come back. And I am surely gonna recommend this hotel to a friend!
It seems like a pretty nice hotel. Room looked like something from a 4 star place. Bathroom looked like a 2 star. It wasn't a bad stay. I just wish they had called me about the earrings that we left on the nightstand.
Excellent hotel - very clean and comfortable. The breakfast area is much more comfortable than most hotels I've stayed at, and they also have a nice outdoor area to enjoy your breakfast in good weather. The room was fantastic, beds were comfortable. Everything was very clean. Didn't get down to the pool but it looked quite nice, and there is a park about a 5 minute drive away that was wonderful.
Stayed at this local motel for three nights while our floors were being cleaned. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a suite with king bed, which was very nice, with exception of a bathroom door that stuck and a loose toilet seat, neither of which was a big deal to us.
We had a Fantastic Stay, we upgraded ourselves to a King Suite and were surprised at how large and well appointed the room was for our stay. The staff made sure that we had a very nice chair in the bedroom for my wife, who sometimes will sleep in the chair instead of the bed for comfort reasons. The room was positively quiet, which in our travels seems to be on the endangered list of availability. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The hotel was booked and the staff did a diligent job keeping the partying to a minimum uproar, and confined to the lobby area. Great Stay, will most definitely Stay There Again, and Again..
Very awesome hotel for the price. Really like the hot tub area by the pool. The room was very clean and spacious (single king bed). The bathroom was a good size, very roomy bathtub/shower. Included microwave and refrigerator in the room. The breakfast in the morning was very good for free continental breakfast, including biscuits and gravy, sausage links, eggs for sandwich making and hard boiled eggs, cereal, waffle making machine, and other sides. I only have one complaint-the elevator was outdated, very slow, made some weird noise, and a bit shaky. Not scary or anything, though we did take the stairs a few times as it was faster
There were some good and done bad.
Pro: the double Queen size room was very spacious and clean. The bed in the couch is about what you would expect. The staff was friendly and courteous.
Con: there seem to be a lot of traffick in the hallway and the stair door on the second floor, which the door kept getting slammed. I even talked to the folks next door and asked them to stop at 10:30 at night. Then when 11 rolled around I went to the front desk because my phone was not working.
Then at 12 there were folks in the parking lot bring loud enough I could hear them. I told the lady at check out and she apologized and said she would give me a discount next time I stay.
This is a nice hotel. Suite rooms are very nice and roomy. I like that there is a microwave and fridge in the room The place is clean and is located near many restaurants, shopping, etc. This also seems to be a gathering place for parties and the common areas can get loud (hallways). Also, if you are unable to use the stairs, you may want to book a room on the first floor. I have stayed here twice and the elevator was broken each time. Otherwise, it is a clean hotel, comfortable beds and nice location.
